Dusty Martin
Ok hear me out. Dusty to me looks like he has lost a bit of passion at a club that is changing direction and destroyed by injury. Could we get him across and a 1 year contract with a clause for a second or something. Petracca showed us how valuable he is up forward on the weekend and this could allow him to spend more time fwd and Dusty a small amount of time in the midfield. That's a scary 1-2 punch for any opposition, imagine dusty finally goes into the midfield and then you have to match up on Petracca when he comes forward for 5-10min. Bit of out there thinking but surely he would be more valuable to us that a Gold Coast

PODCAST: Rd 09 vs Carlton
Horrible horrible first quarter. But, to be an optimist after that, it is the best we have played in the wet for 4 years. Maybe goody is learning! Would have been a great win to get but not the end of the world, i do think we need Hunter in the rotation and once Bowie is back to full fitness there is a bit more class through the middle. not too worried by this loss

PODCAST: Rd 08 vs Geelong
Huge win, very pleased. Good to see Petty run into some form, i like this role too, up the ground more where his leading patterns don't matter as much but we can move the ball quickly if he clunks it around the wing which means we can change angles and get better fwd options. It also allows him to help the defence out and play his natural game of attacking the footy in the air. The inclusion of Turner has allowed this to happen. Also, i wasn't sure about you Woey as a def, but could he be that lock down small defender we have been craving since Jetts retired?

Pre-Game food and drink
Hey Legends Im sure there is already a thread about this. Where are some good places to have a drink and a bit to eat before the game, coming in from Lilydale so keen to get in a little early. Preferably closeish to the G so i dont gave too far to run after squeezing "one more" in.

Whitfield, Ash, Himmelburg, Idun and Perryman are the names getting a game ahead of him, all guns. I agree about the other areas, but this kid is a walk up start in most teams in the comp. Unfortunately no KPFs available worth spending $$ on.
-
Issac Cumming
yes he is, and you would think we can offer him more $$ than GWS as their books would have to be pretty tight

The Drums are starting to beat for North
Also A Redlegs supporter, and don't want them in the AFL because i don't know how i would choose between them and the Dees! It's also just a media story and nothing else!

yeh exactly, i really like him. but we do have so many of this player that we are throwing defenders forward, so it is hard to spend capital in that area. Just a classy player that is available.

Out of contract and seemingly out of favor at a very strong GWS backline. If we are going to persist with Petty and Turner forward, should we look at this kid? He is a very good footballer and GWS obviously like him as they have tried to play him in other positions to fit him into the side but he is an intercept backman and plays it very well. Only 25, has shown he can play at a very high level in the AFL, only issue is it's just not an are we really need.

Elliot Yeo
Unfortunately you are correct, he would be the perfect replacement for Brayshaw. could we offer him good $$ for 2 years. We do desperately need that extra classy midfielder that Gus was. Big hole in our side atm

PODCAST: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Gents, happy Monday! do you think our poor first half was just a byproduct of the bye? Rich were just as bad and we managed to turn it around after half time. Our fwd line, i wrote last week about Petty not being a Fwd but having to play the role due to lack of options. Disco was great but we shouldn't read to much into it as very similar to Petty's good performances it was a very weak opponent and being a bit of a surprise selection Richmond wouldn't have put a lot of time into that match up. McAdam looks like he is gaining fitness and i think Goody said he still need a full game in the VFL which i think is a good idea, but is he the answer? i did not like us getting him as he is lazy and has had attitude problems in the past, hoping the change fixes all that and the early injuries this year were just due to him actually putting in the work in pre-season. We still have some good players to come in: Bowie, Salem, Melksham, Hunter and McAdam 3 of them at least are in our best side and we are sitting 5 & 2, good start to the year now the footy starts to slow down in the colder/wetter period and having a healthy list is huge! Go Dees

Hit on Clarry
this is why i'm saying you can't compare AFL to a normal work place. you don't get a week off work if you hit a co-worker or competitor.
-
Hit on Clarry
Agree, although i like to see a workplace that allows wrestling in an aggressive manner like the AFL. Which is why i don't bye the AFL is a workplace thing. It's nothing like a "normal" workplace. I'm in mining which has a completely different type of "normal" again i think the best way to stamp these out is a fine, then repeat offence is a suspension. But the is the argument of how long do they carry over.
-
Hit on Clarry
maybe 1 year should carry over, but there should be some cut off time id say. i mean we have to apply this to everything though. Toby Greene may naver play footy again lol AFL want to be able to pivot on these things so if a Gawn, Daicos, Hawkins ect can get off leading into a final. It's sad but it's true

Hit on Clarry
i think if you followed the convo instead of just commenting on the first part that takes your eye, you would see i was responding to another that compared it to a workplace. Would their be a different outcome in a "workplace" between a love tap and wrestling? this is my point, for people saying it is the same as an every day workplace.
-
Hit on Clarry
i think the silly comparison is that of an everyday work place. whats the difference between that "love tap" and Viney then wrestling with Pickett after? should he be suspended? or because its retaliation its ok? Like i said in other posts, i believe it should be a fine first and repeat offences go up! So if he was to do it again he would incur a suspension. I also agree staging should be penalised, although if he hit Clarry in the right spot it could of hurt, so it becomes hard to determine.
-
Hit on Clarry
comparing apples and oranges, contact is allowed in football. is prohibited contact which resulted in a fine. If this happened in the workplace you would be fired. are you saying that Pickett should be removed from the AFL?

he hasn't had another offence this year!

Hit on Clarry
I'd be [censored] off if someone jumped on my shoulders or tackled me too. It's not a work place
-
Hit on Clarry
God, there was nothing in it. A fine is what it's worth! The AFL should have a system now that if he was to do it again, it's a week! But if one of our players was rubbed out for that id be furious.
