Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
I dunno about Pert Or Kate, but the club is leaking information like a siv atm. And if they aren't finding how and dealing with it, then they are the issue. Club can't continue under this scrutiny, front up to the media, lay down your cards and start again. Gain everyone's trust again and hold people accountable, starting from the CEO down!

Trade Targets
Macrae offers nothing, slow mid that can't kick more than 25m. Parker much better option. Rachelle I think needs some strong leadership, which I think our senior players show in Max, Viney and Lever. Yeh id be happy with Ladhams, we just need something capable at AFL level for a couple of years. They only signed JJ last year on a 4 year deal, think they really rate him. I don't actually see Noble being best 22 at GC as a half back

Trade Targets
My top targets: Houston: Perfect to slot at HB and allow rivers to progress into a full time mid, smooth mover and elite kick. Parker: Perfect replacement for Brayshaw, love the way this guy plays footy, and dangerous when he goes fwd. Cumming: Same as Houston just not as silky, really like the way he plays though. Rachelle: fantasy, but kid will be a superstar. If there is a chance. Hobbs: Good young mid, would be a great addition to our future midfield, an upgrade on Sparrow. Sheil: adds pace and linebreaking to our midfield, kicking not the best no but he adds an element to our midfield that is lacking. Tom Campbell: Just delisted by the Saints, Perfect back up for Max who can play AFL level if needed. Others to consider: Lucosius, Bergman, Davies

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Kicked 23 and 27 goals from 20 and 17 games. For a teenager. Just look at what Treacy is doing for Freo this year, his 4th year and starting to flourish. Jeffo to me looks to be a jeremy Cameron type, once he builds his tank. High roaming forward. If he can be even close to Cameron we will be happy, but that style.

Has OP and will be 29 next year, avoid!

I still think we need to go hard for Houston, but pick 5-6 is way overs. Future first and whatever we get for ANB?? Dunno if port go for that but who knows. Have to take this pick to the draft I think

Delistings 2024
Delist: Hunter, Smith, KFW Retire: BBB, Gus 😠Trade: ANB, Tommo(out of contract will surely look elsewhere) Will possibly be a couple of kids not offered contracts too, I think Schache getv1 year just to cover Tommo. Can't cut too deep with height. On notice for 2025: Billings, McAdam, Sparrow, Fullerton, Laurie

Goodwin Gifts Daicos Brownlow
Exactly, imo Hogan has had a better year than any if them. But won't get a look because he is a forward, even though it's one of the hardest positions on the ground and you are tagged every week

Said as soon as we were interested he is lazy and has an attitude problem. And not young. They really bent us over there

Dan Houston
Do people think if Port do make the GF he might want to stay. That feeling of missing out? Hopefully we get him, if we win this weekend and end up with pick 9-10 I'm happy giving thst up for him. Pick 6 or 7 is overs but sometimes gotta give that up to pry someone out. Two first rounders is laughable and just Port putting up an initial price.

This kid has superstar attributes, I don't rate Nick's as a coach. Looks a bit "my way or the highway" type. Goody is a players coach. Recon he coukd get the best out of him. Attach him to Petraccas hip for a pre-season and watch him after a big pre-season. It's a pipe dream, but yeh if McAdam is worth a 2nd rounder what's ANB worth. I still can't believe we went after McAdam let alone paid that for him. Still makes me angry

If there Is even the slightest bit of unrest with Rachelle at Adelaide we simply have to enquire. And work it in the ANB trade, we could seriously get a steal here.

PODCAST: Rd 23 vs Gold Coast
Gents, this win will no doubt be played down by the media. Only the second time GC have lost at home and we did it by 50 points. This is a club by all reports may as well shut the doors. Even the commentary was bloody woeful, we were up by 20 point in the third and all they talked about was GC and Mac Andrew who was comprehensively beaten by JVR in all stats. Rivers looked cooked and the midfield role may be catching up with him, his kicking was poor. His short kicking has always been a bit iffy. But a pre season into him focusing on these things I thing he is in for a big year next year. Now let's all get to the G this weekend, it's our turn to end the Pies finals hopes!! Oh it will be so sweet, please let it happen.

My 3 word player analysis V Gold Coast
Exactly what he was scouted for.

Greg Stafford
I agree, but I hope we are asking the question
-
Greg Stafford
no, that was fine in 2021 when we had Brown, TMac and Fritta. We now have a fwd line of JVR, Jefferson and Kentfield. These kids need to be taught forwards craft. Talent alone does not get you there
-
Greg Stafford
not sure any of them are good targets as forward coaches
-
Greg Stafford
Nick or Jack Riewoldt would be my targets. Jack was a sole key fwd in an average forward line that won a flag, then evolved his game to incorporate another key fwd to join him and Dusty(Petracca). He is a great fit. Nick is apparently coming back to Aus soon and he has a wealth of knowledge on work ethic and forward craft. Id be happy with either or

Thanks Staff, but it's time for a change. No il feelings toward him, but it's the area we need change in most.

Jack Viney Extends Contract Until 2028
It's a classic media beat up to drive the story of the "Imploding Dees" Roos asked Viney, he said no. And now is in discussions of extending his current contract. But that's too boring a story

PREGAME: Rd 23 vs Gold Coast
Perfect opportunity to ruin a kid, Jefferson isn't kicking goals in this side atm. Nor is he taking 7 marks and 8 contested possessions as Petty did. Petty is averaging 11 disp and 5.8 marks over the last 6 weeks. He is finding form, I don't think he is a forward but bringing in a young kid who is inconsistent at VFL level into a side that is missing Brayshway, Oliver, Petracca, May and Windsor is asking to kill his confidence. For 2 games, 0 point to it. Yup Melk has been poor, but we need some experienced heads in the team. I'm fine if he is dropped though, hard fo players to have immediate impact after a knee, let alone a 32yo
