not sure any of them are good targets as forward coaches

Nick or Jack Riewoldt would be my targets. Jack was a sole key fwd in an average forward line that won a flag, then evolved his game to incorporate another key fwd to join him and Dusty(Petracca). He is a great fit. Nick is apparently coming back to Aus soon and he has a wealth of knowledge on work ethic and forward craft. Id be happy with either or

Thanks Staff, but it's time for a change. No il feelings toward him, but it's the area we need change in most.

Christian Petracca
Tom Morris not asking any question and driving his story in Goodwin's press conference says a fair bit. An Idea, i believe Petracca is still all in and keen as for 2025. Should we make him Co-Capt with Max for him to take over in 2026? If he wants it. I think he would really love the role and we know whilst Max is still there he will always be a leader regardless of the C next to his name

Jack Viney Extends Contract Until 2028
It's a classic media beat up to drive the story of the "Imploding Dees" Roos asked Viney, he said no. And now is in discussions of extending his current contract. But that's too boring a story

PREGAME: Rd 23 vs Gold Coast
Perfect opportunity to ruin a kid, Jefferson isn't kicking goals in this side atm. Nor is he taking 7 marks and 8 contested possessions as Petty did. Petty is averaging 11 disp and 5.8 marks over the last 6 weeks. He is finding form, I don't think he is a forward but bringing in a young kid who is inconsistent at VFL level into a side that is missing Brayshway, Oliver, Petracca, May and Windsor is asking to kill his confidence. For 2 games, 0 point to it. Yup Melk has been poor, but we need some experienced heads in the team. I'm fine if he is dropped though, hard fo players to have immediate impact after a knee, let alone a 32yo

Trade Targets
Yup like this one, he is a classy half forward. Another I believe we should go hard at, especially if ANB chooses Adelaide is Rachele. This kid is a star in the making and has the potential to be a Toby Greene style player. nothing saying he wants out but he did make comments about not getting midfield time in the media, hope we ask some questions.

The 2024 Positives Thread
Windsor and Kolt Petty's body coming good towards end of year only a couple of wins out of the 8 with losing a starting Midfielder & 2 fringe players without being able to replace them before the season even started. Then losing our best midfielder for half the year and our next best midfielder with the off season from hell. emergence of a couple of fringe players - AMW, Howes, Turner Rivers midfield emergence

Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
100% agree, I'm kind of hoping we do deal with the Crows so we can hold that in front of them. No way McAdam was ever worth that. Still dirty he is on our list!

Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
Whilst I love Nibbler and he is a good role player. He is a 28yo who is at his trade value peak. This is a good chance to get as good a deal as we would ever get for him. No being nice because he is a premiership player. Get what he is worth, will likely be top 2-3 in the Bluey this year too. Whilst we won't get the level Nibbler is atm, his position can be taught to others, he isn't a freakish talent. Hard work is what made him what he is.

All still in the courts, have to let it play out first. Or open yourself up for legal action later. Once found guilty, ban him for life.

Trade Targets
Think we need to get one of Houston/Cumming/Lucosius Houston is the main target and is the perfect replacement for Brayshaw, not so much the midfield minutes but Rivers picks up that. Cumming is classy and will play a simmilar role to Houston, think he could be a bargain get. Lucosius has the skills of a star player, I think he is a silky HBF not a forward. Completely reactionary to him being dropped this week, but if there was some uneasiness there it be worth picking up the phone. Think he needs a change and apply himself more. Looks a little lazy to me.

AFL aren't, his future is pending his court case. If found guilty he will ba banned

2024 Injury List
If 2024 went smoothly: Top line AFL, Bottom line Casey FB: McVee May Salem Howes Schache Hore HB: Rivers Turner Lever AMW TMac Tomlinson C: Windsor Viney Langdon Billings Sestan Hunter HF: ANB Petty Chandler Kolt Jefferson Spargo FF: Kossie JVR Fritsch McAdam Brown Fullerton Mid: Gawn Petracca Oliver Verral Laurie Brown Bench: Brayshaw, Bowey, Sparrow, Melksham, Smith(Sub) Woewodin, Adams, Turner Just shows how injuries on top of losing 3 players (Brayshaw, Smith & Spargo) that are either beast 22 or next in for their position without being able to replace them makes a huge difference. This Casey team woukd be very competitive and if all together and fit would provide good back up for the AFL team

PREGAME: Rd 22 vs Port Adelaide
FB: Bowey Tommo McVee HB: Lever TMac AMW C: Langdon Oliver Woewodin HF: Chandler Petty ANB FF: Kossie JVR Fritta Mid: Schache Rivers Sparrow Int: Kolt, Melksham, Howes, Laurie, Sparrow(Sub) In: Tommo, Schache, Laurie Out: May, Gawn, Viney Resting Gawn as its not worth the risk, same as Viney, he doesn't look right atm. Long season being our only Mid for most of it. Schache to ruck, give him a crack at it, has done it before but it's more about not bringing in someone that's not ready and also not getting someone important injured. These changes won't happen but it's what I would like.

PREGAME: Rd 20 vs GWS
FB: McVee May Hore HB: Lever TMac AMW C: Windsor Viney Langdon HF: Fritsch Petty Chandler FF: Kossie JVR Melk MID: Gawn Oliver Rivers Bench: ANB Bowey Billings Brown Woewodin (Sub) In: Gawn, Hore, Brown, Woewodin (Sub) Out: Kolt (inj), Salem (inj), Turner Turner unlucky but I think we are too tall and slow up forward if he plays with Max back I like the idea of hore in the side to play the old Hibbard role, think we really need that ball reading ability. If wet maybe Howes instead Pup earned a track as did Billings from their games on the weekend

Goody is a genius!!!
I don't think they recruited him as a ruck, more a fwd/ruck and and hopefully a back up. I have a feeling he hasn't developed the way they would have hoped, his handful of games for Bris he looked OK without setting the world on fire. Could be on our development or his work ethic, who knows
-
Goody is a genius!!!
He is 12th on the VFL list for hitouts and only 3 above him aren't on an AFL list or ex AFL players. He would have provided a contest in the ruck. Petty did not.
-
Goody is a genius!!!
I do, and Verral would be able to do a good enough job to not allow easy easy hit outs. Its hois craft and he knows positioning etc, Petty tries to jump over the top and it works a couple of times but Darcy figured it out pretty quick and blocked his path so that he has to reach to far. Fullarton i agree is no where near it. but there was a role to play for Verral. Instead we are playing a guy who has had two foot issues inn the ruck. I'm sure the medicos ticked it off but still.
-
Goody is a genius!!!
Yes we do, And they are better options than Petty, they didn't need to win the taps, but just not allow easy taps like what happened all game. It was different in the wet last week when they just had to put on OK pressure and it force fumbles. but this week in the dry, we were shown up. Im not saying hang goody, but it was a wrong call. We move on.
-
Goody is a genius!!!
Coach needs to take some responsibility, not taking a ruck was a mistake. But its also not the be all and end all, not the sole reason we lost.

Trade Targets
- Goody is a genius!!!
They played a lot like we do at our best, have one out the back and the others push forward and back their bulls to win it and move it fwd, which is why they were flowing forward with such pace, they won the hard ball and got it out. I think they just beat us at everything, was not a good display from the players. - Goody is a genius!!!
