  1. I was going to do a classic 18 and coach where their jumper number’s corresponding letter (1 = A, etc), when combined could be unscrambled to reveal the centre-half-forward’s wife’s favourite holiday destination. But maybe that would have been too simple. Obviously it was Monument Valley AZ USA.
  2. Yeah, yeah, Naarm. (I’m learning to talk like an Aussie after being out of the country for 25 of the last 30 years.)
  3. Greatest of all time video? I’d like to see that.
  4. I’ve wasted enough time on this. Back to the red. cheers.
  5. A lot of people aren’t “phased”. But are they FAZED?
  6. Or this one from Leo Burnett, “When you reach for the stars you may not quite get one, but you won't come up with a handful of mud either.” Perhaps not as classy, but more realistic 😀
  7. Maybe a bit off topic, but I’ve always been confused by the AFL and media and the way they talk about players. Drawing attention to Sheezel’s heritage is just another unnecessary example and it’s not helping. They are trying to stamp out racism (hear hear) but continually draw attention to race. They have the indigenous round, and they champion our (wonderful) indigenous players as All-Stars. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-news-2022-indigenous-allstars-vs-world-team-exhibition-game-plans-date-players-lance-franklin-selection/news-story/27548be066a0bd91e2fe78a983bf4b7f . Meanwhile the media ranks our 10 best indigenous players, https://www.zerohanger.com/marngrook-legends-ranking-the-10-best-indigenous-players-of-the-afl-era-84448/ They tell us our teams’ greatest indigenous player https://7news.com.au/sport/afl/celebrating-every-afl-teams-greatest-indigenous-player-of-all-time-as-australia-marks-national-reconciliation-week-c-7011990 When I was a kid, the media talked unnecessarily about Italian heritage: Barassi, Silvagni, Benetti and co. I’m an old guy and i am trying my best to be a good and fair person. Kosi isn’t an indigenous player to me. He’s a Melbourne player. Sheezel isn’t a Jewish player, he’s a North player. And for that matter, Clarry isn’t a redhead, he’s a champion Melbourne player. Does anyone understand where I’m coming from?
  8. Some commentator says the push was with the shoulder. I don’t remember the rule saying that the push had to be the hands. I’d have thought a push was a push.
  9. I’m disappointed that I didn’t receive anything from the club in 2019, 20 and 21, despite automatic renewal of overseas membership each year. I’m not sure how other overseas members were treated.
  10. What a great two years it will be if the Demons can get it done today. The men last year, Casey this year and today (hopefully) the spirited Demon women. Go Demons!!
  11. I always assumed it was an unhealthy dose of cognitive dissonance.
  12. So we were worried about the game being too defensive and we thought more fatigue would help. We reduce the number of interchanges. Now we might be adding an extra player. Huh? Meanwhile we were worried that standards were falling. But we’ll add an extra player to each team meaning 18 players who wouldn’t have been good enough to get a game, now are. And we can add another team, meaning a further 23 players will get a game. The way this is going, I’m a chance for Albury’s team in 2031.
  13. Not forgetting the dual premiership player, the great Alan Rowarth. Only 70 games because of injury, but a great Demon with a 70% win rate. Thanks Alan.
  14. The trouble with this post is that it makes total sense. There’s no place for comments like these on this thread. 😀
  15. Maybe not, but he is a tool just the same.
  16. And didn’t have a particularly good second half of the season.
  17. I remember asking that one 50 years ago.
  18. Our biggest backline problem is when the ball hits the ground. Neither Tomlinson nor Petty are the answer to that. Petty forward for me.
