  1. Yes we have. And a pleasure to read We’ve got this instead of that awful, American We got this. Bravo, WCW.
  2. And on reaching 150, Brayshaw will pass Lance Arnold and take the record for most games played in our number 10 jumper. According to Demonwiki*, Arnold has held that record since he retired after the Grand Final loss to the Dogs in 1954 to coach Stawell. We love Gus, but Lance Arnold was a great of the Melbourne Football Club too. How about these achievements: He played CHF as a 22 year old in our 1948 Premiership side. In 1948 he also topped our goal-kicking with 41. He came second in our B&F in 1950 and 1951. He represented Victoria in 1951 and 1953. * Thanks, Supermercado.
  3. May wouldn’t have had a problem if he hadn’t driven like a hurricane.
  4. Completely different player from Flower, although not so dissimilar to RDB, Oliver must now be in the conversation for best Melbourne player of the last 70 years.
  5. Hopefully we will field a much stronger team this time.
  6. I’ll be at a classic Citroen event in Murray Bridge with my two loves… my wife and my 1967 DS. I’ll skip the Motorkhana and meet up with an old school friend I haven’t seen since about 1969. He’s also a lifelong Demon supporter. A big win would top off the perfect day.
  7. Fox… Herald Sun. Their station, their paper and their man. Much to our dismay.
  8. Great to have Penfolds on board. Our members’ special deal is six Koonunga Hill Cab Sauvs at $100. Or 12 for $190. (Dan Murphy does six for $85.80.) 🤐
  9. The worst was a Welsh woman who at one point said, « you know you know you know ». True story. And the stranger thing was she didn’t know she was saying « you know ».
  10. I know! (I used to teach presentation skills and I heard that thousands of times.)
  11. I tried to call earlier in the week but there was no answer. So I opted to request a call back. Nothing so far 😞
  12. Over the weekend I watched our last two games against Brisbane last year. Aside from Petracca’s “broken leg” there were no obviously banged up players in my view. And Trac actually played well. The difference between the drubbing we handed them and the disappointment of the final seemed to be lack of dare. When we were desperate in the last few minutes we kicked two quick goals. Of course Lever’s brain fade and Kosi’s ill-discipline (two down the field frees for late tackles and a 50m penalty) didn’t help us. But it seemed to me that in the final we were going through the motions, thinking the game was ours any time we wanted it. Then all of a sudden, reality dawned on us, but too late. That’s mind-set, not fitness or injuries. Bath water, anyone?
  13. I’m not familiar with the meaning of “death riding”. But a tennis commentator just said he’d spent all week death riding Djokovic. I still don’t know what it means.
