  1. If Kynan can kick goals and play like he did last week if he does that and Kade does not get involved then he deserves a half forward role in the opening zero game in Sydney.
  2. Typical reaction about Howes. Yes he was poor but give him another go please. He may not be a defender so release him to the wing or half forward but don’t cruel him as without ability and stamp his potential.
  3. It’s not the behinds that matter it’s the goals! Also the total scoring shots. Also I think you forgot the Swans game which they scored about 11 or 12 I think..
  4. A huge thank you to the Thurin family and Trident's from our D/Lers for such a generous and supportive facility which further enhances the standard of amenities at Casey Fields. Our female and male sports professionals now have a state of the art venue ( although not in central Melbourne yet) which will be appreciated for years. And it will also be for a community use at the same time. Cheers to all who have helped develop this modern facility in the South East and special gratitude to the funding and generous donators and contributors as well.
  5. That won’t be answered until the end of the season around Round24 or during the Finals. I also think some folks are short on memory. 2022 was the niggling injuries to a fair percentage of our troops resulting in fitness issues playing out the last half. 2023 undoubtedly was our injuries to forwards and our failure to take our chances primarily in connectivity and accuracy. Now for 2024 to change that we need a good season with medium to low injuries especially our key and star forwards and that bit of luck that seems to go with all AFL premiership winners.
  6. Agree with your Verrell comment. Don’t take notice of all the trackers mis have written both Tmac and BBB as dead. We wont know unless they get to full fitness if that’s possible. How long they can be match fit over 35 weeks is in the lap of the gods but it’s worth our while trying to get them to the post. Both would be a better prospect than Schache unless he gets busy and competes.
  7. No. Give him a chance they all develop at differing levels. Start looking at his pluses not the negatives. Most can be worked with.
  8. I am not sure that Tamara was with us last year One post said she was and another she was with us till 2022. I any case perhaps a new assistant coach will be a good thing for the group. Sill appear to have a very strong squad and perhaps the disappointing ending to 2023 has sorted out the group with some good recruitment esp. Pisano as a gun small forward should add a new dimension to the forward line. Looking for a strong rebound from a talented united list again.
  9. Sorry WDee can’t get much stronger perhaps Petty andMcAdam. just wondering if it’s worth dicing our luck and give Jed Adams a go from the start at third tall and fast track him as we would have done with Turner hopefully. Is it too soon and Jed better off with Casey for a few games and if injury or opportunity presents include him then like Petty was. Not that we want any more injuries!! It’s a gamble because I like Tmac and hope he can pull it off just like I liked Harry’s highlight reel I also see Jed’s as very promising. Looks a cool customer and nice kick out of defence plus a good mark to boot 196cm as well. Time will tell let’s hope Disco can come back better than ever also.
  10. It’s his flying and on the run shots that spoilt last years figures. I also believe Kossie doesn’t look for a handball much any where near goal or trying to race out of the centre. I love Kossie but he must be installed with more team aspects than just playing solo at times. Hi burns team mates occasionally and if he bought these team moments into his game we would be a 10% better team especially around goal and at centre clearances. The Coaches either give Kossie a licence or are very remiss in team rules in his training. Or are just letting it slide for unknown reasons. We can’t afford this in our forward line especially and don’t believe it occurred in 2021.
  11. Have the feeling he will play well in either AFL or VFL early on. His chance may come once the season gets underway. Has some skills in tight no doubt. Looking forward to seeing more of the Kolt.
  12. What you see from Kynan is absolutely what you get. He is a heart and soul player like Jack and has far more ability than the average rookie when he signs up. What I like is Kynans absolute unconditional attack on the ball and his general clean hands with it plus his trusty left foot kick with such intent and planting skill in disposal. He didn’t look flustered or under pressure just calm and cool and he runs in a straight line at pace greater than we think. After our delight with Caleb starting to get his game into real shape this is such a bonus that I think Kynan may get small patches on the ball or in the centre. There are no limitations but perhaps building up is a priority so he can be an on baller of the future. Maybe he will debut in the 23 and he would also be a handful as a Sub. Well done Kynan you are going great guns. Looking forward to your continued development.
  13. Yes that’s right. He was good but when he was signed I think Kobe was also given a very promising introduction and confident post of welcome.
  14. Have you had any advice that no figures are going to be published George or that no figures are to be published in this pre season period ? Interesting because I feel if the figures were going well there would be publicity to that effect. Thanks George.
  15. Andy could you please ask George about our Membership for 2024. ANy figures published etc? Thanking you
  16. No AMW needs an opportunity. Different circumstances and must be recognised. AMW hasn’t had 3 years in the system and 15/20 games yet. I have a feeling he will get that opp sometime prior to the bye unless Kade starts kicking goals and gets busy. Kade may no ok for depth in any case.
  17. Short of paying them out what would you do? GTBKidding.? PS Some of your posts are exactly a good title gif your nick name .
  18. It wouldn’t be the Club making the Fox coverage it would be the AFL as it is dim match wide. Why should the Club have to arrange their coverage if one exists. Well I have said for 2/3 years the Vlub should have a supporters bus leaving day the G or In the City on these days as also AFLW and maybe experiment on VFL days when they don’t clash with our AFL match times. A $20 bus trip both ways should be a good start with families $40 each return perhaps. If you get an overflow get a second one in tow.
  19. Suspect due to Clarry’s recent past we have had to involve AFL for advice and some TLC to perhaps minimize any collateral damage already done. Have absolutely no knowledge of this it’s purely thinking over the big picture scenario of dodging a few bullets maybe. Perhaps Chappy didn’t need to be that expansive in his info. Great to see Clarry back on the park enjoying himself which is the biggest take out of the day. Can’t understand why so many fans exited the game after the first 4 quarters. Surely another half hour with Clarry involved was not too much to do halfway through the day. When did the players do their signing laps for the fans? Between the firsts and rest games or at end of day when only 1/4 of the crowd were still there? Sorry tv didn’t show either time.
  20. Glad the DA had a most successful and productive day today. Also that it was a great day weather wise for all the fans.
  21. Agree with most of your comments Binman. However I am amazed at the lauding of Kossie’s game today.Yes he started in the huts and was busy and notable but extremely wasteful and selfish on occasions. IMO if he gives the option of a handball or his own kick instead of Fong a 20 m run I have a suspicion the four goals we lost by would have potentially been possible. It’s a bit different than just radiating between half forward and the goals when you get the ball when you take possession 10m back of the centre circle or even on the forward side. You have to use handball and a penetrating kick to be of value. Not burn others and deliver scrubby ground kicks to leading or running forwards. That’s wasteful. Show him the centre bounce scenarios from the bang bang bang third quarter and get him playing team footy and not Kossie keeping’s off attempts at stardom. He only tried the direct once today and still muffed the mark. Let’s get him playing team footy for US and conform to whatever the mids are in our team strategy. And no More ABN and more Salem in the middle. He straightens us up lowers his eyes and is rarely caught in possession. Also the left foot balances out Vineys sometime average disposal and beats opposition attempts to stop his breakaway. He can always be replaced and half back flanked if required.
  22. I understand your comment that Disco has been a bit of an injury scare ea ch year. Yes it is frustrating moreover for him and the team as our third tall spot is very much a sort of poisoned chalice with Harry quite rightly being given his opportunity up forward to provide a real marking and physical presence for us in the forward part of the ground. But I don’t agree with you that Disco’s four games only I think have not been impressive. He was the subject vs Gold Coast to a lot of pressure like our whole 6 defenders that day and given the circumstances they held up manfully to en sag Ute we had a vital win albeit a very close one. Not sure that you judged his last round vs Swans fairly as that showed what Disco could do on his best performance in the red and blue and I was surprised and disappointed that he was dropped for the QF subsequently. I think Simon has starved him of opportunity to get the pace of AFL and more games last and this year should have him cherry ripe for a strong tussle with a rejuvenated Tommo. As we saw with Harry a succession of games is ideal for young players not chopping and replacing them on the run. Now his future is uncertain for a half season and we should have had a backmen ready for AFL by now. Yes his injuries have not helped but it’s how you provide the opportunity to young players as Goody has done for some others that you have another soldier battle hardened. I believe previously Jay Lockhart had all the skill and ability to replace Nev Jetta but again was not handled or shown enough faith in developing his readiness for the battle that’s AFL footy. Some players are not Judd McVee’s and adapt instantly and take a little time to fulfil their undoubted potential. I still believe Disco will make a spot as the third or fourth backman but we are running out of chances if he continues to get injured or is not shown faith and opportunities to jell. Fortunately we also have Jed Adams who looks odds on to be Stephies replacement in due course. Disco must grab his opportunity as he is running out of time to show his full talent for our team of the future.
  23. Glad you clarified that Chook. Nevertheless your post was a little sharp and great to know your in the loop. We can only support the boys and they do try vèry hard but they have run out of fit guys still on the park in ‘22 and last season the forward line was decimated and our replacements didn’t take their chances. We can with more options this year and greater skill together makeup for our disappointments, as long as we have enough soldiers to go into the heat of the battle.
  24. If that happens our chances go up about 25% for Ginals and flag.
