Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Well OD you still are writing off YOUNG players OFF too early in their career. You expect players never to be given opportunities in other positions or are so impatient for success for some. Joe many of our current players have you written OFF ? About 25/20!! Will never make it Ate not AFL standard after 5/6 games !! Doesn’t show any thing to be a senior player ( after less than 10 games) Players need encouragement and time and patience and you don’t want to give them that. Yes we can make predictions but unrealistic chance of a fair go is not the answer. 2/3/4years is often necessary for proper player development. Far too negative and rushed with your opinions for an AFL Club yo develop it’s list.Msybe we need to trade a bit more fit ready made stars!!

But he cameoed at CHF or FF some times. Time to get OUTSIDE help Seek advice from Brownie Lloyd Schwarta Neta Tom Hawkins Jack Reiwolt and brother Nick. Intrrbiew them and give them the rest of the season to coach the forwards individually and as a team. Simon has NO IDEA and the midfield coach should Be involved for connectivity issues.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Is it possible that Howes Bowey Laurie and Woe are all being played out of position. Surely Bowey and Howes could be tried on the wing or half forward line! ? Could turn Woe into a tagged? And Laurie is he an on baller or elsewhere?

New coach prospects
While I don’t agree Werridee with your comment re Clarry you can’t say with any confidence that Clarry won’t get back to his best. He was not a match winner on Sunday but clearly stood out as most competitive and tried hardest. Kossie should be asked to cut out the Frie socials [censored] and concentrate on his footy. I have no doubts we would have won Round 1 and it is quite conceivable we would have been level at 3/4 time on Sunday if he was playing. I know I challenged BBP on Kossie being missing being crucial in the results but we have not had or selected half forwards that have played well or are up to the task. Leaving Langford out of the 23 was another strange decision IMO. We are now really under the pump on Saturday and ALL will need to torn their attitude and form around to provide a stop to being 0-3.

Speaking of people returning under anew name. While it wasn’t a ban it’s a self enforced lay off with a similar return under a different name and the same autocratic style. Nothing has changed at all but the title !!!

Agree JL by a mile. He talks good sense when on AFL360 tome. Get him before Freo or else steal him. Too good to pass up. Seriously if by the Anzac game we are not 4/3 or worst at 3/4 then time to change as both players and coaches will not be listening to each other,

The other 3 were Lincoln McCarthy Tom Doedee from Adelaide and a HB flanker who has played 10 years at Brisbane and whose name escapes me. Subsequently Oscar Macinerney of course.

The AFL are treating us with contempt
Well put we are a bunch of wingers!!

The AFL are treating us with contempt
Sorry Billy it is Melb fans that have hang ups about their fixture and the times they like to attend and who they play. We have an easier fixture or so it seems. But for all that we have fans winging about Sat arvo games, instead of night and vice versa. Too many dislikes etc. AND what’s wrong with home games vs Interstate teams? It’s a National comp just go to all your home games unless its absolutely humanly possible. We should go just because we barrack for the Dees and not give a toss who we are playing. See the team win against these less favourable opponents and enjoy the G as it’s our home ground. We are footy snobs in some respect so get over it. Just go to the footy without the hang ups!! .

The AFL are treating us with contempt
You have got the wrong thread on this. The issue is the trip to Geelong’s home ground. You are right that we had a home game vs Cats in 2018 R1 and Maxy basically lost us the game kicking a point. But we played at Geelong in about Round 20 and Toohey kicked a goal after the siren. BUT we also playerd the cats in about Round 4/5 in 2021 and winner about 15/20 points. AND if you all remember doubled up that Covid year and had the fairytale Maxy goal to win in Round 23 at the Cattery to finish on top of the ladder. Our real issue is playing 23/4 times at Geelong this century. NOT doubling up.

Demon supporters are pathetic…
Once again post with very little substance or reason just rash generalisations trying to prove that footy is not bigger now in attendances since before Covid. Memberships are up solidly and there are greater numbers of 50,60 70, and 80,000 ( even odd 90,000) games more than ever. Sydney Swans and Brisbane alone are attracting regular sold out games ( Lions 8 or 9 of 11 home game selllouts in 2024) and Swans had record home and away numbers ever. in WA despite their near bottom grade position Eagles still had predominantly over 40,000 each game and Dockers more 40,000/50,000 days than in the 30,000’s. SA had both Clubs record high over 40,000 crowds for a majority of their games. SF o the situation is far more healthy with even GWS and Suns raiding their memberships and crowds for 2024. Thrre are no more games just better arranged blockbusters and other non competing matches in a smart promotional way. Bottom line is you can’t make people attend if they don’t want to but the footy has never been more competitive and That’s what supporters like. Do there are genuine increases in AFL since Covid in all States along with record membership no’s despite your randomly asserted response that this is not so!

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
One way to speed Jeffo is to give him plenty of experience in the AFL. He has enough tools to compete and mix it and learn at the same time. KDL You ate talking about a journey of 3/5 years before he might be near the finished product but in the meantime he will develop his game and add competitiveness and extra skills to his performance. Might like some/ most have a low period/s but he has special forwards talent as a base which will keep him in the game and team for a strong number of games. Very promising debut like most of the debutants. Lots to like about each on their first outings in the big time.

Can’t see why you think that merely comparing Jackovich and Jeffo body and physique. No shaming at all there and none was intended. Your call entirely Neit.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Trouble is that whether you have seen ( have no idea what you really have seen actually ie. all of the last half of his Casey games ?? ) Also what Jeffo has shown up to now by his age and development will only be a tip of the iceberg compared to the finished product. So in fact your statement is completely incorrect in what effect Jeffo may have in the next 2, 5 or 10 years in his Demons career.

Demon supporters are pathetic…
What research or otherwise are you basing your opinions on the make up of the crowd at AFL games??? Ir is it just your opinion or is it a stab in the dark which very much seems the figures you are posting. Regarding the average no’s of members per game attendance last Thursday on Fox during the Tigers vs Blues about midway through the 2nd quarter one of the commentators indicated there were 56,000 Tiger members in the crowd which was finalised at just about 89 over 80,000. Thats 70% Wrong for your info. Can you imagine is Sst night that of the 63,000 the Pies had ONLY 16,000 MEMBERS? Ie 25%??? No Wrong sgain!!! Finally Crows. and Eagles had 42 and 46,000 on Sunday. If your guess is 25%!then only 10,600 and 11,500 members are attending. REALLY ??? And even the Dees on Sunday 6,000 would have been the figure of approx. 24,000 as members ( AFL and any MCC double uppers) Your figures are pure guesswork at worst and rubbery at best completely out of touch with the real world of AFL crowds. FWIW I think the nearly 24,000 was OlK given the horrible pre match conditions the F1 and the minimal 500 GWS contingent. Would have been about low 30,000s if no rain or FI. If we best Kangas and score well 30,000 vs Gold Coadt is quite likely. If weather ok.!! .

MEMBERSHIP TALLY 2025
Supporting is like marriage For better or poorer in sickness and in health, Pretty non negotiable really. The half glass empty is still the uninformed mantra of the fans from last year. Let’s see if the pickers and choosers of night games vs interstate teams return to addy game figure.??? No real excuses Formula1 IMO if you are there otherwise turn up.

Harley Reid
Adams says hi! Never ceases to amaze me that D/Lers always want to go and get a certain player for a position or instead of another player we are developing. Realise that some ready made trades are necessary to top up high draft picks or other lower draft picks as they develop. But some fans can’t wait and all the time want trades irrespective. It can’t work out like Geelong or as the Pies are copying now.
