Team of the Century (so far)
Which McDonald ? Tmac or James Mac? Also I didn’t get T and J Rivers In the team mixed up. I was commenting on a post with T.Riv named on the HBF. I reckon he could be in the Team but in the em or I/c. Upon reflection I may well have I underestimated Jarred R but are happy with Jake Lever at CHB to be honest.

That’s positive and horrible news but doesn’t change his ability to get out on the park any earlier unfortunately.

Farewell Adam Tomlinson
Should have not resigned Marty Hore so quick who is a forgotten man when replacements are mentioned for probably Petty and Lever but not necessarily ideal for May or McDonald.

Team of the Century (so far)
Clearly it is hard to include some rather than others either a games say 100 plus or AA or B and F placings. But some players have to be there because of the fabric of their footy and Club heroics and performances and also as fan favourites and impact around the Club at that time. . Ungarie Boy am sure that Petty Rivers Frawley and who’s Langford ? On the wing. Are very near selection or emergency maybe. What about Tingay Schwartz Green ( is he better than Nibbla for instance ?) Love Tmac at CHF for his 2018 year and his role in 2021 flag. Perhaps if he plays this season and is in another Glag team he would make it I reckon. Also Ungarie some positional changes would add to this team. First ruck criminal not to have one of our elite champs Clarry or Trac in it. Centre yes is good but start with our best. Viney as HF would be ok but Robbo as FP and Davey either HB or HF better. Salem as IC or EM. JMac on forward line ok also Brayshaw as HB and Hibbo as starting back a plus. it’s all a bit nit picking as all are worthy players and Demon Spirited to their bootstraps. We all see different reasons and favourites but Angus and Farmer both deserve a spot plus for short term greats May and Lever are shoe ins together. Yze also is hard to leave out for his freakish skills back or forward. He is IMO better than Salem who could claim injury has diminished his footy legacy. perhaps an analysis after 2/3 weeks of contributions might get some popular favourite team of the 21st century.!

PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 31st January 2025
Absolute mistake saying Petts was indicating discomfort with the forward/back training setup this season. He simply explained when he got to training he received a forward or back advice on his training situation and was totally happy with the difference in this training. Talking about discomfort he at the start specifically mentioned his discomfort with his foot injuries last summer and in 2024. Sorry Tim but your perception is not accurate about Harry’s discomfort. Reckon Harry will be a star again in 2025 back or forward now that he is fully fit and over his foot issues. Will be pondering why he was played injuredandunderstandinglyperformed so average in 2024. ? That’s real discomfort.!!

Farewell Adam Tomlinson
You can’t hold too many in waiting. Adams may well be the heel in this crown if he is able to develop quickly this season. Good luck Tommo thanks for your nearly 50 games of pure guts and determination and I’ll never ha able to understand why you were dropped especially after the Masterclass vs Pies in Kings Birthday in 2023. I think Stephie played with a broken rib next round instead ? did he not ?

Kozzy Homesick & Wants to Leave?
Sorry ET it is stated next year about joining Freo. Or are you delusional ? It clearly needs to stop and does not pass any pub test in any shape or form. . Clearly we all love Kossie but this is anti Demon Spirit and needs to be called out for what it is. It is even more brazen than Bailey Smith’s virtual silence on his Cats move while injured and receiving help from the Dogs accordingly.

Kozzy Homesick & Wants to Leave?
All the more important for memberships to be renewed or new ones purchased!! I am still waiting for the 10,000 members/fans that didn’t turn up for the Port and GWS Sat night games at the end of the year to rejoin or join their membership this year. Clearly under 40,000 at Feb ist week our potential membership is about 50,000 to 55,000 unless we win early games and are showing a much improved game plan ( which I fully expect both to happen BTW) And D/Lers please don’t write in and waste your time and try and give a reason for missing those games I wont believe it’s understandable in any way. Pure lack of Demon Spirit is what it was !!! Clear and simple.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Yes but with his improved form since early/ halfway 2024 that had not been questioned IMO. Any one now can still bring that up but I think he is different to Weid and Schache and he needed to get all his mind and body in the game. He realises now that he is not without the talent and has the confidence to overcome this. Only time will tell. Is that Coach because he said he’s a no correct? It’s only his opinion and many others also have opinions. is that Coach still with us?

PRESEASON 2025: Training Times
Exactly PK AMW back to forward line and Pup to inside the 23. The more pace the better so long as you can get the ball and both can IMO.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
GATOR you have no idea about the development of players and requirements for AFL footy. And DD you have let the naysayers get to you and now are demanding Jeffo be a Calshier Dear this season. it is a proven fact that Key Position players in FF CHF CHB and FB are slower developers to attain regular AFL status and impact more than marginally in team performance. Classic examples are say Tom Hawkins and Darcy Fogarty as forwards and Tmac and Noah Balta. You both are now saying that Jeffo should not have been given the 2 years to develop his skills and his physique in 2023 and 2024. Despite before your own eyes he has done this with 75% of Demonland ( and thousands of other Dees fans) on his back and questioning almost every inch of his body mind shoulders fists hands hunch and kicking and ferociousness along the way. Yes it seems a slow burn but tight now is his time to start repaying himself and us for the last 2 years with some promising performances that will lead to his career as an AFL forward. Honestly If you can’t see the difference in playing style and attitude between Rooy and Jeffo then go back and think of your nephews nieces sons and daughters and compare their growth cycle. The great Christian Petracca took until 2020 to realise his fitness and preparation for AFL needed to be elite before he was a regular star from that break out practice match form vs Adelaide at Casey. Clarry was a beast and took to AFL like a duck in 2016 in his first quarter and until his issues last season has never looked back. David Schwarz was a developmental star and hit the team as a nearly developed product. Greg Wells the same and Robbie Flower also but others like King brothers have taken their time to start to dominate thrice respective forward lines. Jeffo also has the combination of forward skills and the brain of a forward. Only some players have these abilities and Bailey Fritsch is another. Max Papley and Jeremy Cameron similarly. Sit back and enjoy the ride as the moments will be worth the while as will some features of exasperation occasionally. But the important result is our forward line this year sometime will be far more dangerous with Jeffo in it and the resulting Rooy Disco AJ at times Plus Fritta Kossie McAdam hopefully, Chin Harvey L and Pup Brown and the Kolt should be busy and competitive to provide much more scoring opportunities than before if our team and game plans are successful. I can’t wait to see it unfold because the result is positively mouth watering. Add Trac Harry and as swingers. Also refer to our Gold Coast game in Round 23 as a snippet of our potential and Jeffo will be a big part of it but get off his back and let him breathe please!!

Dees being seriously underrated
No they were only 2 goals away from making the GFinal, not winning. And Cats had been premiers in 2022 twelfth in 2023 and third in 2024. So it can happen and I believe if we have no serious stars injured plus improved seasons from about half our players plus our youngsters take the next steps and our 2021 focus is repeated then we are a Top4 and Flag possibility.

Team of the Century (so far)
No James had an exceptional year in 2010 and was AA but so did Jamar in ruck Green as half forward. I don’t think either 3 performed as well in any other year. My point in another post is one AA year or say a place in B and F in one year makes you a walk up for this Team of the Century. Players should only be rewarded with consistent years of excellence in the team over 8 or 10 years or say 5 years like Allan Jackovich. In my mind Trent Rivers should not be in our starting team at least nor should Jeremy Howe be in as a hdd as half back. Both only have played about 5 years at a very good level and Jeremy played most of his footy at the Dees on the forward line. Yes he was lauded for his defensive ability ( and his marking) in defence for his last season at Melb and his 6/7 seasons including his premiership year at C’wood in 2023. I think there was a 150 games limit ( minimum ) or similar so Kossie or Riv would not have made it. Many have left Gerard Healy out of our Team of the Century for limited games but certainly not limited performance. Allan Jackovich is similar. Trent and Kossie ate certainties to be in a team at 2030 if they maintain their form and development but both can go another level this year and maintain that to be AGraders IMO,

Team of the Century (so far)
To be fair Gaz was a CHF far at least half his career and Robbo was mostly a FF or FPocket playing like a FF. But that doesn’t cheapen Robbo’s contribution over his career as he was not as tall as most key forwards. He had extraordinary jumping and marking skills for a player. My only beef with Robbo was he hardly ever picked up the ball from the ground so we needed crumbing smalls to mop up and on some occasions they were not front and centre or just not there. Kossie can be so much better if he can stop flying in the air without marking and sharpening his snapshots at goal. Playing in the centre and on the ball as well as cameos at full forward should round him off to be an AGrader. Hopefully it happens this year.

Melbourne’s new bond
Too bad we may improve with ou re youngsters and new recruits plus enough to bridge the gap. Itstoo early to write our cream off in Very early Feb. Wait until the end of season to read or perhaps appreciate others opinions of yours not being commented upon.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Agree OD but at least Clarry is fine this year but Luker might struggle and lose a lot of his pre Cmas fitness I guess. Depends,

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Old Dee last season Clarry’s level prior to Christmas was never approaching his level now. So the pre Cmas level does base your post Xmas training catch up or consolidation for the season. To even compare Clarry’s fitness now to 2024 same time is completely misleading.

Team of the Century (so far)
I am trying to think of half back flankers instead of Riv ( bit premature perhaps) and definitely Jeremy Howe who only played a season or two at most in defence. Reckon Angus Brayshaw deserves a HB spot for his versatility and courage and team ethos. I’d be happy with Jetta back pocket and Davey on HBF or either the other way. Trent on bench or EM Will be in this playing team soon no doubt. Was Jamar good enough for an EM spot?
