  1. Yes but with his improved form since early/ halfway 2024 that had not been questioned IMO. Any one now can still bring that up but I think he is different to Weid and Schache and he needed to get all his mind and body in the game. He realises now that he is not without the talent and has the confidence to overcome this. Only time will tell. Is that Coach because he said he’s a no correct? It’s only his opinion and many others also have opinions. is that Coach still with us?
  2. Exactly PK AMW back to forward line and Pup to inside the 23. The more pace the better so long as you can get the ball and both can IMO.
  3. GATOR you have no idea about the development of players and requirements for AFL footy. And DD you have let the naysayers get to you and now are demanding Jeffo be a Calshier Dear this season. it is a proven fact that Key Position players in FF CHF CHB and FB are slower developers to attain regular AFL status and impact more than marginally in team performance. Classic examples are say Tom Hawkins and Darcy Fogarty as forwards and Tmac and Noah Balta. You both are now saying that Jeffo should not have been given the 2 years to develop his skills and his physique in 2023 and 2024. Despite before your own eyes he has done this with 75% of Demonland ( and thousands of other Dees fans) on his back and questioning almost every inch of his body mind shoulders fists hands hunch and kicking and ferociousness along the way. Yes it seems a slow burn but tight now is his time to start repaying himself and us for the last 2 years with some promising performances that will lead to his career as an AFL forward. Honestly If you can’t see the difference in playing style and attitude between Rooy and Jeffo then go back and think of your nephews nieces sons and daughters and compare their growth cycle. The great Christian Petracca took until 2020 to realise his fitness and preparation for AFL needed to be elite before he was a regular star from that break out practice match form vs Adelaide at Casey. Clarry was a beast and took to AFL like a duck in 2016 in his first quarter and until his issues last season has never looked back. David Schwarz was a developmental star and hit the team as a nearly developed product. Greg Wells the same and Robbie Flower also but others like King brothers have taken their time to start to dominate thrice respective forward lines. Jeffo also has the combination of forward skills and the brain of a forward. Only some players have these abilities and Bailey Fritsch is another. Max Papley and Jeremy Cameron similarly. Sit back and enjoy the ride as the moments will be worth the while as will some features of exasperation occasionally. But the important result is our forward line this year sometime will be far more dangerous with Jeffo in it and the resulting Rooy Disco AJ at times Plus Fritta Kossie McAdam hopefully, Chin Harvey L and Pup Brown and the Kolt should be busy and competitive to provide much more scoring opportunities than before if our team and game plans are successful. I can’t wait to see it unfold because the result is positively mouth watering. Add Trac Harry and as swingers. Also refer to our Gold Coast game in Round 23 as a snippet of our potential and Jeffo will be a big part of it but get off his back and let him breathe please!!
  4. No they were only 2 goals away from making the GFinal, not winning. And Cats had been premiers in 2022 twelfth in 2023 and third in 2024. So it can happen and I believe if we have no serious stars injured plus improved seasons from about half our players plus our youngsters take the next steps and our 2021 focus is repeated then we are a Top4 and Flag possibility.
  5. No James had an exceptional year in 2010 and was AA but so did Jamar in ruck Green as half forward. I don’t think either 3 performed as well in any other year. My point in another post is one AA year or say a place in B and F in one year makes you a walk up for this Team of the Century. Players should only be rewarded with consistent years of excellence in the team over 8 or 10 years or say 5 years like Allan Jackovich. In my mind Trent Rivers should not be in our starting team at least nor should Jeremy Howe be in as a hdd as half back. Both only have played about 5 years at a very good level and Jeremy played most of his footy at the Dees on the forward line. Yes he was lauded for his defensive ability ( and his marking) in defence for his last season at Melb and his 6/7 seasons including his premiership year at C’wood in 2023. I think there was a 150 games limit ( minimum ) or similar so Kossie or Riv would not have made it. Many have left Gerard Healy out of our Team of the Century for limited games but certainly not limited performance. Allan Jackovich is similar. Trent and Kossie ate certainties to be in a team at 2030 if they maintain their form and development but both can go another level this year and maintain that to be AGraders IMO,
  6. To be fair Gaz was a CHF far at least half his career and Robbo was mostly a FF or FPocket playing like a FF. But that doesn’t cheapen Robbo’s contribution over his career as he was not as tall as most key forwards. He had extraordinary jumping and marking skills for a player. My only beef with Robbo was he hardly ever picked up the ball from the ground so we needed crumbing smalls to mop up and on some occasions they were not front and centre or just not there. Kossie can be so much better if he can stop flying in the air without marking and sharpening his snapshots at goal. Playing in the centre and on the ball as well as cameos at full forward should round him off to be an AGrader. Hopefully it happens this year.
  7. Too bad we may improve with ou re youngsters and new recruits plus enough to bridge the gap. Itstoo early to write our cream off in Very early Feb. Wait until the end of season to read or perhaps appreciate others opinions of yours not being commented upon.
  8. Agree OD but at least Clarry is fine this year but Luker might struggle and lose a lot of his pre Cmas fitness I guess. Depends,
  9. Old Dee last season Clarry’s level prior to Christmas was never approaching his level now. So the pre Cmas level does base your post Xmas training catch up or consolidation for the season. To even compare Clarry’s fitness now to 2024 same time is completely misleading.
  10. I am trying to think of half back flankers instead of Riv ( bit premature perhaps) and definitely Jeremy Howe who only played a season or two at most in defence. Reckon Angus Brayshaw deserves a HB spot for his versatility and courage and team ethos. I’d be happy with Jetta back pocket and Davey on HBF or either the other way. Trent on bench or EM Will be in this playing team soon no doubt. Was Jamar good enough for an EM spot?
  11. It not about individual honours in one year but a succession of years is needed.
  12. Apologies I forgot that Fritta is already in the team. Who could ever forget his 2021 Granny Masterclass? I was privileged to be there to witness it!
  13. Agree that’s pathetic.
  14. That's extremely disrespectful to Robbo. Kossie has only played 5 seasons and may deserve his position in future years but the facts are Robbo has the score on the Board and is one of our top goal kickers with over 400 second or third to Neita. Yes Kossie does a lot as well as score goals and is a very magical player but he needs to be more accountable with his footy. I believe he can be an A grader for the rest of his career but must kick more goals from snapshots plus not be suspended ( unlucky and robbed over Moore nevertheless) and playing on the ball will help his further development. If you are including Kossie in your team then Fritta should not be far off it also. But both should play even better footy from now on and come into discussions about 2030.
  15. No we need them now for reaffirmation after 2024. Players are not silly they know we have to improve in many ways despite 14th being a shock. We can’t go back to early 2022 so now is the time for club bonding and resetting tasks that will unify us all. I will be very surprised if we don’t make the 8 and possibly Top4 if we can escape injuries and suspensions. Good opportunities for McAdam Mentha Sharp and Lindsay and Langford to make a claim for Round1. A bonded and united team with a talent base plus youngsters has unlimited potential for 2025 and beyond. 2024 was the wake up call for all and an outlier with this group missing the Finals. I’ll be very surprised and disappointed should we not feature in September and not make a good fist of it.
  16. Really waste time on enquires? another weird post Goffy Let’s get some free agency talent to back up our drafting. Any one who says we can’t utilise Oscar Allen has lost the plot. Firstly he would be a free agent and secondly unless a proper and extensive fitness examination is undertaken to our medicos satisfaction then it’s a no perhaps. It’s an easy plan to get rumour about fitness and Eagles have done similar before. Darling was supposed to have issues of behaviour prior to the draft and no one touched him!!! So don’t be fooled do your medical diligence. Richmond did it with Angus wasn’t it? But we still got out of it with a win. Recruiting is about needs and to not go aggressively for top players is not giving your Club its best chance. To say we don’t need Allan is ridiculous as AJ has just been recruited!!’ Who would you rather have ? I like our chances up forward in 2025 but a fit Oscar Allan would be a game changer, all the other would walk taller and enable our existing young potential players to play with greater freedom and confidence. The Cats have a multi dimensional attack with Jezza Cameron as its match winner an plenty of other options but it’s the star power that is the key to head up anAFL flag winning forward line. And there is a panic about our aged defenders well Petty Turner JVR and Adams can all play swingman if need be at times. I regard Binman generally as one of our best judges but on this occasion he is radically wrong on his reasons for no Allen. Move the grandstand to get quality players that’s why the Cats are perennial contenders.
  17. Why? not smart or any logic as far as I can see. Nor is Hammer either explain that also. Macca your post saying he can be a defensive weapon around half back.???? The guy is a forward/ mid. Do you want to further place defence above attack for our Club? We need creative attacking aggressive forwards not dour defenders.
  18. To be fair it’s not Jeffo’s role to do that as a developing forward. He is being trained as a forward and clearly AJ is a second ruck/ forward with a much bigger body and greater physical attributes.
  19. He could still mark OK last season
  20. UTTER RUBBISH. Why has Riv been able to successfully transfer to a harder role in the midfield without being good at HalfBack. Judd has had 2 great years at HB and is one of the best young HBacks in the AFL. Thts why I am not fussed we haven’t got Houston. Whitfield was better 5 years ago. You are due at Specsavers in half an hour. Dont criticise our players ridiculously.
  21. Stop spreading rubbish
  22. Where he is selected but nobody knows where? HFF. Mid. I/C. Sub. Em. ????
  23. That’s the point a FIT Salo is the key as well as consistency.
  24. Don’t you watch Judd McVee? Not a bad half back. Surely Riv has played some good games from HBF. Me thinks you need a memory rethink or a trip to specsavers.
