Training Ground?
That is not the feeling I have or that most Caulfield proponents are approaching the bade there. If that’s your opinion fine but this is not a throw at the stumps project, but a well constructed case for a major Club base facility in an ideally located locality containing the necessary training and administrative requirements for major portion of this 21st century.

WERRIDEE’S Rolling Squads
He ( Fritta) sometimes plays the ROLE of the key forward but is not really our KPF (FF) in the structure. JVR or Turner ( or Petty) will be named and most probably play at FF and even Jefferson or Johnson plus Kossie may play in that position at times depending upon how the match is going.

Open Letter to the MFC
Thanks a lot DP. Much appreciated. While I understand the questions were very specific and some not necessarily ready for open consumption it may well have been the group thst you were representing that was an issue just as much a factor. I do think the nature of the beast is that many or sny other possible sites might be compromised by public information if passed on. And another particular point the group you represented of course would have been a factor as well as the confidential impact of current negotiations with us not in control of the Caulfield project. We have as club members etc. been given a general update which is specific in its current progress and it appears the major and central base to ensure we have a 21st century base at long last for our Club to be proud of and to enable us to compete in the toughest national ( and Victorian) competition and thrive up to our highest possible standards for success for the test of this century. Thanks again DP for your honesty and cooperation.

What was the question DP ? That might be The reason for reply which is not great but not surprising in some instances.

Training Ground?
It is available at Caulfield so you can stop warming your seat at AAMI Park which is not the solution as you know. PF astounds me for such a MFC person being misled by the Waverley Park discontents following one article in the paper. No one has even visited there in 30 years other than Hawks fans and why would they be moving out of there spending more than a million $$$AUD at Dingley if it could be bought up to anything near a satisfactory base for the.next 50/100 years. And DP harping on Fishermen’s Bend. Perry has already advised about all other possibilities that they have been examined and considered and unfortunately further discontents still persist with previously discarded training base possibilities. Onwards and upwards at Caulfield.

Pre-season 2025
Well not all people regard what’s written in DL as a joke.its not funny and there is no point in writing stupid info that can’t be taken as gospel by some. I font enjoy reading [censored] like that. No one deserves that to be served up purporting to be humour in our posts.

Pre-season 2025
Contributing this largely wrongful post is not helping MFC at all. Many reading this dribble will for rightly or wrongfully believe some or all of it and believe it is true. We criticise journalists for inaccurate and misleading statements about our Club yet seem oblivious to this sort of post that is not even funny enough but deals with the truth and fiction all in one. It is a waste of time and should be not approved for publication.

Clayton Oliver
Think he is talking about Clarry at a guess for missing a fair bit early in late 2023 before arriving in 2024 after Christmas period. if it is it is not a valid point in the context of the season and Clarry’s program.

WERRIDEE’S Rolling Squads
I think Binman has the best opinion on Fritta. He is irreplaceable in our forward line and an extra 20 goals to 60 would be priceless for our forward line. in fact all our forwards plus new recruits XL Langford and AJ plus Sharp can all add to our flexibility and goals to make up the necessary points up to 90 plus for a Finals team. I would hate for Fat Tony to summarise the weaknesses of all our forwards based on his summary of Fritta. Last season was his worst really so I have full confidence he will be back in his best with support from new players and existing alike to ensure we get back to a confidence that will ensure a forward line with many options for the crest of the competition to fear.

It’s not hatred Chin is a fine clubman and very determined and goes in hard. But the others are IMO a better potential for thst spot of HFF in the end. All will kick more GOALS I have no doubt.

WERRIDEE’S Rolling Squads
Agreed PK that goals are priceless and pressure important but others Zibtjink will do both.

WERRIDEE’S Rolling Squads
By end of 2025 for HFF Tholstrup Brown AMW Pickett Petracca Sharp are all capable of playing that position plus Langford or Lindsay may be suitable. Fristch is also capable of playing HFF role and from left field I think even Jefferson may ba skilled enough as well in his earlier debut games.
-
WERRIDEE’S Rolling Squads
I Think in time Brown or AMW could replace Chin with pressure plus the benefit of kicking more and harder goals. That’s by the end or during the season.

WERRIDEE’S Rolling Squads
Goodman is not necessarily a coach who drops. Look at the time he kept ANB on board till pre 2021 when he offered him a transfer but he could find one!’ After all that time. And I have a feeling that Chin Chandler is in stage of development if he doesn’t kick more goals he should not be anywhere near an auto selection as most D/Lers have gone in 2025 teams. I haven’t even got him in my 27/28 including emergencies.

WERRIDEE’S Rolling Squads
They are saying MJ is not ready yet not that he is not going to make it in 2024. Goody had him as an emergency for 3 weeks in a row as a reward. Now that he is having his third pre season and has put on more weight again and is quite a big size he will be more confident to start his AFL career. Like McVee it’s a timing issue and development is all important. Stop looking on the half glass empty and give him the support he needs to add to his career. I have every confidence and look forward to him debuting early in 2025.

That shows your ignorance of shoe fashion. Perhaps it is a bad omen for you? FYI I believe Clarry’s shoes were polished albeit standardly but against patent leather doesn’t as you said “the polish doesn’t stand out the same. “ Lovely photo of the trio and as posted in this topic if these lads can shine a la 2021 we will be in a much better space. Of course subject to a fit and healthy season for them all.

WERRIDEE’S Rolling Squads
As I posted about a week ago Jeffo despite all the naysayers has made considerable progress since halfway through the VFL/AFL season last year. For many to trot out the same old lacks physical presence or physique, and competitiveness, ste simply ignoring facts. He kicked 30 goals in the season even with JVR in his last season in the VFL. So it must be recognised that he has some goal kicking potential. I actually believe he has more footy forward smarts and tricks than Rooyey and recognise he is a different player who will add a different dimension to our forward list. Examples of that are his snapshots marking skills leading and ability to find the ball on the ground. In saying this I am not underestimating JVR and his great physical presence in flying plus his marking team play or follow up whether as a forward or in the ruck. Jeffo has put in up to 8/9/10 kgs on the last 2 seasons and also plays as a natural forward with his kills and is just as good a kick for goal as JVR both being very accurate compared to dome of our other forwards. As I mentioned Goody ( Selection Cttee) picked Jeffo as an emergency for the last 3 AFL games last year so he then must have satisfied many of the doubts about his readiness for the top grade. He as I have previously suggested may be able to play a half forward flank/ forward pocket role roaming when he debuts which means he would probably escape a 1,2,or3 defender marking him. I can’t wait for him to debut and yes he may not star at first but I believe his development pattern like JVR has been well handled by the Club. With Turner Fritta and Johnson plus our other mediums Trac Langford and Lindsay and smalls Kossie Chin and hopefully Brown and I would like AMW to be tried as a HFF. Season 2025 is going to be different for its change and game plan plus our youth and Jeffo is going to be an exciting watch when he gets his chance. All the best for his career and I will be mildly shocked if he doesn’t end up marking a name for himself on out forward line in the future. The doubters will then be the ones with a pleasant surprise and at ease experience as a result.

Brown needs elevating to see how near he is to AFL standard and if he has the stamina for a full game at the highest level.

Well you differ from the Senior Coach. As I said you are basically in the wrong and I can’t understand your statements and attitude. What has Jeffo got to do to satisfy you???

Training Ground?
As I have previously pointed out and Demonsome and others mostly on the negative side are continually ignoring the facts about our training location and development. This base especially the ovals and some other facilities are not just for MFC use BUT for the local community and clubs to utilise. Your points about Govt. funding are purely based on your considerations only include MFC. The truth is that the local community inclusion will be the reason that funding is generated for this project by a wider variety of stakeholders especially Govts of each level. So your doubts about funding availability are most likely very wide of the mark and inaccurate on this occasion. Caulfield will proceed and be our base I believe because of the strategic importance of the mix it provides all stakeholders with an elite facility for a wide variety of users for the district.

WERRIDEE’S Rolling Squads
What has Jeffo got to show you if you have not seen him training or in the last half of last season a desperate attitude? He has overcome his lack of confidence and aggression according to the majority of VFL and track watchers and is regarded by most ( actually Goody had him as an emergency for the last 3 games in 2024) now as a genuine player ready to step up if his attitude and practice form continue in the same vein and also improves. So really your last para might really be considered as a view that is out of date and almost irrelevant, looking towards 2025 forward planning. Jeffo is being looked upon as the next big thing in the same way as JVR was 2 years ago before he made his long anticipated debut. Albeit his development has been in a vastly different manner.

Rebound or Rebuild?
Think Jeffo is more likely to be a star than either Howes or AMW who I both believe will make it one at HB and other at HFF.
