Name 1/2/3 better small forwards and his potential to be even better has to be considered in any trade.

We are already rebuilding on the run in case you missed it. Just hoping that our existing stars will be joined by another group of A/B graders from our dozen youngsters like Windsor Langford Lindsay McVee and Rivers.
  3. It’s that he has shown he has elite ability and players with that should be in an important position hence my desire for centre as opposed to the wing. Also he will be used extensively if played at half back for outside running and delivering the ball down the ground. What a waste not using his running ability rpfc!!

Perhaps you may need some sort of counselling. It couldn’t happen again. Look at it from a half glass full not empty. It was a dreadful act by the AFL and some compensation should have come our way.

Or he may be like Mac Andrew and not be worried about his weight.
  6. He’s been training well and is fit. Last year he was compromised by his fitness and if he returns fit he is an asset. You are simply stating your opinion based on his form at the end of 2024. Each season should be judged on its own not penalised for the previous year. Clarry is in the same position and won’t be penalised with his training back towards his top form.
  7. So minding an opponent, beating him one on one, frequently finding the football, sprinting away from your opponent, passing to your teammate about 2/3 of your possessions and covering up and assisting your teammates in defence when required. If the above is not what is required in the midfield from your midfielders I don’t know what is. Judd does all this without fuss and is the ultimate team man. Now DD36 please tell me why. Juddy couldn’t play in the midfield? Teamwise. I would be happy for Judd to stay at half back for the teams benefit but please give him a go for the Clubs future and another player we could use in cameos in the most important part of the ground. Speaking of the centre and ball bounce and start of the game plus the shortest distance to the forward area and goals I would only play THE DUKE in this position in a Chad Warner role. He would straighten us up, pass to the forwards and use his pace and multiple skills and kick IMO 15/20 goals this season. In other words Caleb can do what he does on the wing but play the premier mid role controlling our ball movement as a most dangerous player in our team. It will be a game changer trust me. Lingers is still on one wing and either Bowser Sharp or Pup might be appropriate for the other. I still can’t think that Windsor will be as effective as a half back compared to a centreman in our team. We are also well off for half backs that can be trained to run and carry without the need to deploy The Duke away from our most telling place on the ground to punish and impact our opponents on a consistent basis. This move would have an even greater impact on our performance than the moves of Riv on the ball or Disco up forward. And Goody’s reputation will go forward as our results are improved by these tweaks in our team line up.
  8. You Cranky are notably deaf but Dumb as well. FYI Angus agreed to a role early in 2024 to being a bench type assistant on game day but found after about 2 weeks he was not able to handle the role and was not keen and not seen again. the second indication of Angus not wishing to be involved was after his magnificent speech at the 2024 BNF night when he spoke and indicated he would not be around the Club in “his own way” at the end of his speech. If I am wrong on this then I apologise to Angus but I totally believe this is the correct Angus situation as of now ( and at end of 2024) So please don’t accuse me of being deaf and making up plans for Angus to not be seen around the Club. His speech on behalf of the Retirees at the AFL Brownlow as another opportunity to show his hand also resulted in a comment that he is uncertain about his future and could still be vague for a while yet. At the risk of typecasting Angus I feel that he has undoubtedly involved his 2 other loves in life ie a game of golf and of course his recent marriage to his sweetheart Danielle Frawley which is fact in case you have been away or on a sabbatical since late last year, but alas you have still posted your very forthright or quirky opinions of recent dates. Happy for you to check my post for accuracy but No true Demon fan would ever be in doubt what our Former No 10 great thought or said. My overlying memory of Gus will be the privilege of seeing him play in the GF at Optus Oval, and seated on the outer wing which I saw close at hand how he so magnificently kept us in the game with that heroic third quarter. We have been very lucky with our wingers over the years I have followed the Dees starting with Bluey Adams, Brian Dickson, Stan Alves, the great Robbie Flower,Stephan Tingay, Lingers and now The Duke if he doesn’t go to the backline ( or centre position as I believe he should. ) However that third quarter that greatly helped our magnificent Flag win in 2021 when the game was in dispute by Angus tops my memory above all those greats of the past or potentially the future as a vital team contribution in winning a game. I am 76 now but value Angus’s career as a most valuable one in our rise to the top and are so sad that bad luck and a mongrel act has robbed us of our no 10 for his footy and his club and team ethos and spirit which was hard to replace last year. As with all of us we would like Angus to be back in the fold but we must respect his wishes and in time this may happen. Lets cherish his memories and not embarrass him when IMO he has unmistakably stated his position at this early stage of his retirement.
  9. Should not have resigned Marty Hore so early and had easy enough time to place Roy on our list if followed that time frame. A panic selection like how we shelved Young Mac Andrew’s brother with either Hore or Mentha. Needed a CHB or FB recruit more than Ricky really and definitely Marty as he is 10 years older!!!
  10. AS I have said if OD was a selector or Coach we would not have Gawny at all after about 2/3 seasons and gee I reckon Trac might have been in trouble at the end of 2019!!!
  11. Yes Old Dee fails to realize that after ONE season ends the next one is not guaranteed to be the same especially with young developing players and new recruits. Has virtually written off for the 2025 season McAdam Jefferson Billings Fullerton and Verrall. Yes 2024 season was not great but reasons for this and it would be great if the first 3 especially had improved seasons then our list depth would be much improved.
  12. Should be on slightly reduced bunch of games early on ie managed to ensure full season of fitness if he is full on form early in the season. Some )have doubted his ability ( like those questioning Jeffo) You are right but really 30 in a medium/small is not a finish year for career and both deserve a second/third season to absolutely find their best form. Sport is a fickle beast and don’t write off anyone due to age.
  13. Please nothing to do with Jeffo and he ultimately did not play but was an emergency. My point was to be accurate and not just repeat rubbish from many people who have never seen Jeffo play as an improved VFL player who kicked 30 goals in 17 games at the same average as JVR did in his pre and second VFL season with Casey. You also got his years wrong saying 3 and not correctly 2. Not your greatest post Jnrmac.
  14. 58er replied to leave it to deever's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
They did in 2024 losing their last 4 games to miss the 8, only have to repeat that again.
  15. Agree with Brayshaw ahead of Febes as he is a premiership player and played and succeeded in more big games perhaps. Fritta very unlucky and Kossie probably Sub ahead of Flash or Jmac.

Think you would take the chance s….d
  17. 58er replied to KLV's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Darcy is injury prone and has not had one 6/8 matches year missed in his career. Best to recruit Jacko and his Mum back. Sorry for this stupid post but let’s be serious let’s get Tracy or Serong or Andrew Brayshaw or two of them for Kossie if he ever goes to Freo.
  18. 58er replied to KLV's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
How it’s that ? 2000 was the myk or whatever so you are wrong IMO.
  19. Agree. Please Jimbo read Angus’s lips and public speeches over nearly exactly 18 mths are clear and consistent. Take notice of them.
  20. 58er replied to KLV's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Have Carlton been a basket case also? Freo? Tigers? Lions ?
  21. Let’s wait and see mate.
  22. But why be so stroppy about it and distort the truth? Makes no sense just because mostly all others got it right. Clarry deserved better than a free blow to his cheek given he did try IMO despite your assertions.
  23. Excuse or reason ? it has to be one as he was hampered by the injuries and clearly was not able to attain fitness. IMO he is entitled not to be judged and if it’s not an excuse it’s a reason. Some of the comments here are seemingly upset by Clarry no being able to produce his usual stellar form. The guy was clearly not himself and fitness started his problems exacerbated by the injuries mentioned. Very salty to not concede the truth after his magnificent contribution to our team since 2016. Fortunately he seems well conditioned and fit ready for a return to his champion status.
  24. I am also of the opinion that he has only been at the club for TWO years previous not THREE.
  25. You must have missed last half of 2024. If you are going to comment please br accurate. Goody would not have made Jeffo an emergency 3 weeks in a row at the end of the season without the actual improvement he has actually made. Many in the Club are looking forward to him continuing on with his impressive development It is disappointing to read of criticism that is inaccurate. Credit where credit is due please.
