  1. Anyone know what time the field of women is tonight?
  2. Then watch him... Tyson is quality.
  3. The classic everyone turns their back at the same time thing is always a classic. Unfortunately we don't have the pull, but if every Melbourne supporter turned their back on the game as the players are walking to their positions it would be noticed.
  4. Think it's worth noting Freo have been doing that chant for longer than anyone. The slow Melbourne chant was good, but I would have preferred a Yes! Chant (wonder if anyone will get that).
  5. About bloody time Australia started to catch up to the rest of the world.
  6. Yep, and once he learns how to kick a footy or at the very least make a good decision with the ball in his hands, he may become a decent player, but until then all he has is endeavour.
  7. I think Garland and Jamar are a chance to come in, both are back in full training I believe. As far as outs.... I just want Fitzy and Matt Jones at Casey.
  8. Nick Davis - One of the laziest players ever. Rhyce Shaw - An original "rat pack" member, involved in drink driving incidents. Barry Hall - Was always seen as an on-field ticking time bomb. Spida Everitt - Can't think of a major factor but come on, it's Spida.
  9. Saying this again.......... Roos has a history of taking on troubled players.
  10. Paul Roos coached Davis, Shaw, Everitt and Hall..... These guys were all D-heads. This no D-head policy is nonsense and a media beat up. The phrasing would be more accurate if it was the "we will make you not a D-head" policy. Go get Dusty.
  11. Teams we should have a chance at beating like Port, Brisbane and Gold Coast? What is more important to you, sparing a mans feelings or allowing fans, sponsors and players to jump ship?
  12. Stopped reading at comment 9.... You lot are an utter disgrace who clearly have no concept of what racism is and are proof of what is wrong with this country. Go out in the world, meet some people of another race and educate yourselfs, find out the true relation to the word ape and black people... I don't blame you all for the subtle racism, the fact is, white people will never really get it as they have been white their whole life. My beloved Australia, maintaining their name around the word as one of the most racist places on earth.... "oh it's just a joke", "I wouldn't care if someone called me an ape", "he does look a bit like an ape, thats not racist", "you pay your money you can say what you like".... Total garbage.
  13. Don't understand how people don't get this.... Neeld staying is counter-productive. 1. Player stability, keeping players is critical for us at this point. 2. Supporter unrest, Neeld is approaching Richmond level of hate from supporters, you can't allow that to happen as we are nowhere near the sizeable fanbase that they are. 3. Sponsors... If players and supporters start jumping off then why would anyone sponsor us? Neeld simply has to go, the question is the best way to handle it, Queens Birthday is absolutely perfect timing for Neelds removal. Don't worry about the money paying him out and our net loss, this is the one financial cut we need to make to avoid a never ending downfall as a club.
  14. I mean seriously... get a bloody haircut.
  15. Further to my last post: I'd be really interested to know what Need's gameplan is - specifically; I guess we'll never know because he doesn't have to tell the general public. a) what in general is the plan for bringing the ball forward {diagonal handball, short kicks, long kicks to a contest, forward press, slingshot, zone, boundary, what??} b) what is the backup plan for doing so c) what the players are meant to do, and where to stand when the opposition has the ball at i) full back ii) CHB iii) corridor iv) wing v) 60 metres from goal d) what is Melbourne's advantage?, is it the marking forwards, what is it?
  16. I believe Neeld has to go ASAP…. He does not have the cattle, this is true. He does not have players who are willing to have a dip consistently, this is true. He does not have the money to spend in the football department that other clubs do, this is true. He has been expected to pick up where Bailey left off and run with this team, so expectations were it would all click, this is true. I understand all that, I get how hard it would be to coach an untalented side without time and resources. However there is alot that he can impact without the above… Command mutual respect with players, respect older players… Don’t say in a press conference that Jack Viney is the future of the club after 3 games (how would that make a Frawley, Sylvia and Jones feel?) As Mick Malthouse has stated at Carlton, you must have an evolving gameplan to suit your cattle… If the players don’t get it and can’t execute it after 29 games then you must change until you have recruited players who can perform to the gameplan. Match committee, team selection is up to the coach, playing players in the right position…. These are simple tasks, we have an all Australian big defender, so put that big defender on the oppositions main man every week. Selecting 2 beanpole ruckmen in any current day AFL team makes no sense…You can carry 1 beanpole, the other ruckman needs to be a versatile player (Stefan Martin was the protypical 2nd ruck and after a career best season he was put in the VFL then traded). The first 5 minutes… The most basic sign of a good coach is how a team attacks the game in the first 5 minutes, we start woefully every week. Handling supporters and the media… We as a public are not all stupid…. Saying things like “it’s probably coach speak but we followed our KPI’s” is Ludacris… In the lead up to round 1 Mark Neeld said “ We are looking forward to the season and believe we will surprise a few people and teams this year”, 2 weeks later we had been destroyed twice and Neeld then said “we are rebuilding a rebuild, we know exactly where we are at as a club.”…. Ahhh Mark, no you freakin don’t, this has shocked you and we all heard where you thought we were at… lying to us does not make it any better. Probably some basic grammar errors in this post however I have writen it fast and furious.
  17. Unfortunately Caro has let herself down in the sense that she is a tremendous writer however has fallen into the trap of writing rumours over the past few years. Occassionally she will still break a big story, but trading in rumours has killed her reputation as of late. Mike Sheahan said as early as last week that he believes Caro is the best journo in the land.... regret that now Mike?
  18. You are sooooo awesome man. Great contribution.
  19. Very true.... Fact is I would bet that 90% of people under 25 do drugs semi-regulary, or have at least tried it.
  20. No offence or anything.... I love this site, however the new skin is slightly more flashy, thus making it harder to hide within the clutter of other programs at work. You have raised my slacking stress levels significantly.
  21. People hating on Davey for being given a good contract confuse me no end..... Deserved it at the time. Is getting older but was given the long contract. Yeah people can ask someone retire etc etc etc.... Real easy to say all this when it's not your money. Money shouldn't even be apart of the argument.
  22. Well really what you have there is a win-win right? No matter what it seems we will be getting a great player for the future of the club. Yes I think everyone should and would prefer Toumpas, but Wines is also a top player and we couldn't be upset with drafting him. Wines is the 4th best player in the draft, Toumpas is 2nd or 3rd... So naturally Toumpas is a better result, but if we get the 4th best player at 4th? Then I am happy.
  23. The only reason anyone would want Wines over Toumpas is because they thought we were going to draft him... So invested themselves in Oliver Wines. Fact is, he was never, ever rated above Toumpas by anyone. Don't get me wrong, I'll love Wines if we pick him, but Toumpas is a far greater prize.
  24. I don't remember where I read it, but I do remember hearing Viney speak about Toumpas... It went something like: Q: Who has impressed you the most this year? Who would you want to play with? JV: Jimmy Toumpas has really impressed me lately, i'd love to play with him. Also worth noting that when Viney was officially awarded to us via the mini draft that Toumpas went out of his way to congratulation Viney on twitter, Viney then said "thanks mate your next". So I think talk of Viney and Wines having a bromance is ridiculous.
