Viney is the man. 3 years as an assistant, a former Melbourne captain. Coached Moama in the country league. Expirience, knows the club. However Ratten is a terrific choice. Amazing player, great leader and was an assistant at Melbourne. The final strong option is Mark Harvey. If he only manages to win 2 more games as caretaker. Freo will go for Neale or Peter Sumich. Therefore he would be available. Less likely choice but still a possible option. NO CONNONLLY.

I agree, keep Bizzel. I know he is getting older but he has been really good this year. He is talented, puts his body on the line, plays hard every week for his position and tries his heart out for this club. For god sake drop Godfrey please, trades are more imprtant than de-listing for us, we need to trade some at least one key guy for something new.

I was at the beginning strongly against Ratten. The moment Neale left I thought Garry Lyon, Todd Viney, Mark Harvey, Michael Voss. The only four I would want no matter what. Lyon is a no obviously (damn). Im a little hasty on Voss but hey what if he is amazing. Harvey looks set to stay with Freo. So I have thought alot more about Ratten. My ideal choice is VIney. But Ratten could bring something to our club. Maybe some grunt into weak players like, Johnstone, White and Robertson.

Ok typical bandwagon words there. You don't know that he WAS a talent. He hasnt played. He dominated for Sandy last week. You have no proof to say he cant still play other than the fact he is an idiot personallity wise and stuffed up...... alot. He is still very talented. I know alot of people don't like byron pickett because he is a big boy. But come on the guy is a serious talent!! Has everyone at Melbourne forgot how amazing this guy was last year? and how much we all loved him. He stuffed up earlier yes but he was never given a chance this year!!! He has played about 3-5 games. This BYRON PICKETT, a norm smith medallist. The way we are playing im sure he deserves a game. Furhter his is on 199 games, if he doesnt get to 200, I as a Melbourne supporter will be embarrased. Give this incredible talent a go, not just one game, his confidence is down, he needs to string a few together so he can be the force he is. To not bring him back against his old club Port was stupid. He would have dominated that game, his 200th in hostile territory vs his old side. Stupid selection panel.

What do you mean doesnt get his hands on it enough. In an article on Melbournefc.com.au recently, Riley pointed out the fact that against the Roos he mentioned that Bucks had 15 possesions in 50% of game time. Our highest possesion getter on that day was Junior, he had 21 possies and played 90% of the game. He got it alot that day. He just hasnt been given the oppo to stay out there like the other boys. But he was nearly our highest possesion getter in half a game, he can get the pill.

What do you think of young Simon Buckley? I rate him extremely high. He has not had much game time but when he has got the ball I already feel very confident the ball will hit the target. He is a tall midfielder who is fast and can side step the opposition with ease. With young guys like Buckley, Newton and Jones. Im pumped about our kids.

NO CONNOLLY. If we are signing on the basis of the fact he played for us. Then get Viney. He was captain!!!
