Spargo no goals and wasted kicking. He has a long way to go.
-
Well that is our main problem. We must have spares somewhere and this is where we are falling down with the so called CONNECTION. No one is looking when going into forward line. Just packing themselves and bombing it and you and I could take marks by ourselves if we were defenders and that is saying something as I am as old as the hills !!
-
Crowded with oppo players!!! Most disposals being 2 Tigers defenders mainly winning ball by themselves.
-
Exactly. Nailed it. Been saying for last week we need our top 6-10 players playing at their very best with others contributing for us to start firing up again. At moment it is just not happening and I would go as far as saying none of our better players are playing to their best.
-
Oli, do not know how old you are but I was around in 60's and both you and I would have got 28 disposals out there tonight with Dees kicking to us!!! when we are by ourselves!!!
-
Also 5 youngest were Tigers.
-
Give it up you people. Any one of you played any decent footy?. That ball was coming into Tigers forward line at a million miles an hour and the backs had no hope however battled hard and it could have been a lot worse of a loss without the likes of TMac who did well along with Frost,Salem and Hore . The forwards and Mids let them down AGAIN big time.

Wiseblood he needs to put his body on the line and do some hard stuff. I thought he was as soft as melted butter tonight.
-
Agree on the Weid but thought TMac did well down back when the tigers were pushing forward every second and he saw what happens when Mids do not get back to help
-
Trac is a bit soft (would like to be a bit harder than soft) like Fritta, Weid and Hunt. All forwards. Throw in Garlett also. Tigers just brushed them aside and jogged away from them without being touched. Pathetic.
-
Gee that made a big difference. Seriously do you think the Umpires lost it for us. Give it a break please.
-
That bloke wearing number 31 should go and hide in the stands. Has none of Barassi's courage AT ALL. The softest player I have seen in many years. You can throw the Weid in that mix. I said earlier we need our best players playing at their best and the others putting in honest efforts. Some are but boy are some just going through the motions. Time for these guys to stand up in last quarter. PLEASE.
-
Yes effort and a BIG effort is required tonight. In addition our better players like Lewis, Hibberd, Salem,Jones, Viney, Harmes, TMac, Melk, Gawn, Oliver and Brayshaw HAVE to play at their absolute best with others showing that effort required to assist THEN we might be a sneaky chance.
-
Couldn't agree more however unfortunately we do not have them at present and until they return fit we need our top 6-10 players playing at their absolute best and the rest contributing if we have any hope of making the 8. I still have some hope.
-
Concur Rusty. We are very low on GOOD depth and desperately need fit and firing May, Lever, Hannan (in particular) and AVB along with some HUGE upside in our so called present better players like Oliver, Melk, TMac & Hibberd.
-
Concur and why the hell did they start Lewis on wing and only put him back late when he actually got a few touches. Mind boggling stuff by our coaches.
-
We have a huge problem at moment.Do not worry about Goodwin's game plan etc the FACT is we have the following VFL standard players (at present) in (from the back line), Lewis, Hibberd, Jones, Weideman, Hunt, McDonald, Melksham, Petracca, Spargo, Fritsch, Wagner & Wagner. That is 12 players that are not performing to AFL standard. Unfortunately we do not have the players to replace them all. You all saw what the kids did to our 2nd's today. Worrying signs. Therefore we need to play Garlett for Spargo who has no idea how to play this game as one change and I suspect no other changes. Just hope the others come good. A long season beckons folks.
-
Exactly we should and will not play around with changes just because it is a short turn around from Saints to Tigers. We must play our best, fittest available and if that means Jones and Viney play both if fit. You do not play around with the side when we have only won one game. We need our best firing for both these and get back to the pack.
-
Yep. Backs against the wall folks may just bring the best out of who ever we still have playing.
-
I'll suffer or glee through it however agree Saty the Forwards MUST pressure their defence and Mids NEED to get back and assist the Backs then when we have the ball, lower eyes and hit targets up or in front so they can run onto the pill.
-
Bloody hope not GCDee
-
I honestly think we have a chance tonight. Swans coming off a slightly lesser break plus their older guys likes of Buddy, Kennedy and Reid will struggle to come up. In addition their ins are a 1st gamer and Jack who is slower than Jones! I am hoping this is so. Speaking of Kennedy, we need to take a line from his Grand Father and JUST DO IT.
-
Not sure about that OD. This bloke can play and when he gets back in I'm confident you and the others will be very happy with his contribution. May 80% fit is a better option than what we have at moment and he will show us all why we got him and KK for Hogan.

Box Hill Hawks v Casey Demons - VFL Round 1
Docs Demons replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Unfortunately with all the injuries to the one's it shows our lack of AFL depth at Casey therefore, we go into Sydney with none or minimal changes. That is the reality and we will have to suck it up until some troops get back. -

Hope so as I think Pruess in particular is needed on the small ground (lengthwise) in Sydney. He and Max resting in forward line will cause issues against a smallish defence as long as other forwards are at fall of ball if the big fellas don't mark it.
