Even if we do get lucky today showed me we would just chock again in first final so why get us excited to make it. Might as well finish 9th and then get rid of at least 6-8 players that played today to REBUILD again. The skipper is first to go. Sorry I said skipper, I meant Jones as he is no skipper.

I will apologise in advance but ANB along with Pedders, Spargo, Garlett, Hunt should not be in a AFL side. VFL players at best. Again we lost this at selection. Pedders, Hunt in for first games in a while against a desperate Swans outfit did not work. Vince would have been good today with his positioning and kicking. For goodness sake they had 2 down in 1st quarter and we were absolutely useless. I'm sick of it and players that think they are good need to actually show us they can play under pressure. Got 2 games to do it but I doubt it.
-
He can play on the bloke in the first row
-
No change for me. Must go in with settled side and trust Hogan is fine. Happy to give Smith and Spargo another chance to show their best.
-
Exactly however also they had assistance from the midfield plus when the pressure is on Tex, Lynch and Jenkins go missing big time. Just look at Tex in the GF last year. That aside our 2 key backs are holding up OK and when we get Hibberd back to help we could go along way. That was a very very good win to come back from 20 points down and win by 13. Prefer Alice with 90 point win but this will give the team the belief they can win close games. Bring on the last 4 games.
-
No change for me however a close look at Hogan is required.

Great win and badly needed after Saints and Cats close losses. Now we need to put the peddle down on Suns and come home strong against Swans, Weagles and Giants. Do that and maybe a top 4 finish or at worst 5th and still get a home final. We still have plenty of improvement.

I hope we take a lot out of last night and learn where we went wrong. That aside as long as the players are not down and can get up again I thing we can be a real nuisance come finals time. We showed last night we are as good as anyone in the comp when on. Just need to do more with our forward entries and play for the whole game. The skipper needs to take control when things are tight and I thought he went missing at the end. On a positive we should have and could have beaten Cats on their own ground. Lost by 2 points with Lever, Viney and Hibberd out. Not a bad effort in my opinion.

No use blaming umpires. More inside 50's AGAIN. More scoring shots AGAIN and still found a way to lose. I do not rate Geelong so this loss hard to take.Umpires were not to blame. The players were. Also anyone want to have a go at Hogan?. I will. His efforts up front were absolute crap. He just wandered around like a lost sheep. Did not impact the game at all with his body. Next to no tackles and one handed grabs at the ball. Also hardly any chasing when Cats got the ball. Pretty ordinary effort in my opinion.
-
Of course he will return to Perth. AFTER he finishes playing for the DEES.

We must select the best team possible and that of course includes Gawn. Then it is simple,. All we have to do is not what we have done last few games. This team needs to bring all the effort and pressure needed to win games. Unfortunately I have come to conclusion that our bottom 6-8 players and many in Casey are not quite or yet up to AFL standard. Need to take this into account. We are just not good enough at moment. We need more class across all lines, which I trust may happen in next year or so therefore, those selected must be prepared to gut run (both ways) and help their team mates at all times. Given up on trying to select changes and await Goody's and his mates team tomorrow night.
-
Couldn't agree more. Trac has to go and Tyson also plus I think where ever they found Petty from they need to send him back. Just not a AFL player. There won't be major changes as Goodwin is just as dumb as our players but ANB, Hannan, Smith plus plenty others will be lucky to stay in.
-
That is our main problem Hogan, TMac, Weids etc all fly for the ball and no one at the fall. These guys do not take enough marks let alone contested one's. No one leads at the ball carrier so we just bomb it in. This current team is the most pathetic kicking team I have seen in many years. They have no brains. Everyone chasing in close for ball. It falls out and guess what the opposition are there to take it away. We lost this at selection and playing to many out of form players.
-
We keep the endeavour showed last night and finally get a bit of polish around the ball with proper disposal we will beat most teams in back half of season. I mentioned in pre game discussion that it is simple solution for us. See ball, get ball and dispose of ball to advantage. We killed them in two of those. Just need some calmness when we win the ball. Umpires aside we absolutely killed Port in all aspects so keep it up and finals is for us. When opposition flood our back line we must have some spares some where, so look for them even if we kick it to the side or even back until something opens up.
-
You all need to take some pills and leave the umpires alone. Whilst they were ordinary they didn't lose the game for us. WE DID OURSELVES. Never seen a more dominant team for most of the game and lose it. Ollie Wines even mentioned in post match presser with Fox that they stole it. Our forward entries were pathetic and worse still our forwards other than Macca were just as bad. Plenty of soul searching for Trac, Hannan, ANB, Hogan, Harmes plus a few others. They should not be gifted games. Seriously look at Trac and Hogan at Casey next week even if it is to teach them they need to work hard at every contest and actually make a contest for their team mates.

We must improve in middle from the Maggies game. Captains, Jones and Viney need to improve big time and show all that we are capable of winning big games. Good win tonight and we will get more Prime games next year. This is a simple game tonight. We MUST see ball, get ball and deliver ball and a win is ours.
-
I don't care who is in or out. I just want 22 committed, tough, hard at contest players that ALL turn up to play on the one night for each other. We need to get rid of the tag of under achievers, softies when big games are on. The last 2 losses to Magpies hurt big time and don't forget the Hawks and Tigers games.Need to win this and win it well to get monkey off us. Time is now Dees and the leaders must do that and lead.
-
True. They were just to good on the day. Let's hope we get another chance at them IN FINALS.
-
I think Dee was talking about the Magpie supporter in the wheelchair. The ex Fireman that has MND
-
He is a terrific person. When he has been up here in Qld he has all the time in the world to chat to you and fantastic with the Grand Kids. Wish him well but boy he must now know what is required to be a AFL player. Get the bloody ball Jack and use your body more. Big enough, fast enough and all the talent in world but just needs to see ball and get ball!
-
We still have a few at our club like Watts that go missing when pressure is on>
-
Getting his ambitions mixed up with his capabilities.
-
That is where our problem lies. To many in packs trying to get ball out with little quick hand passes and as soon as a fumble happens or it gets pushed out wide all our guys are in the pack and away the Maggies went on their own. Doggies did it also but could not sustain it hence we got on top but Maggies to their credit kept it up all game. This is where our on field Generals need to make adjustments. When pressure on we seem to go back to old habits. As I have said before, it is not end of world and we have a opportunity in 2 weeks to show everyone what we can do against the Power. Or I hope so!
-
Happy with this.Need to realise even when we ere winning easy Hannan, Petracca, Spargo and Vince were not getting much of the ball and poor old Pedersen is just a good, albeit very good VFL player. 5 changes is not that drastic when you have some decent depth.
-
Not the end of the world however we have lost badly to Hawks, Tigers and now Magpies with a close loss to Cats. This is my concern that we are unable to match the top sides when they put the pressure on. We MUST improve here or no use being in finals as we will be out in one game. Lot to think about over next 2 week before Port game. Again we lack leadership when we are in trouble. Have said this many times but when the going gets tough our leaders run or plod around by themselves about 10 yards away from any opposition. I am talking mainly about Jones and Viney here. Also in other posts I said Spargo needs a rest. It showed big time today. Other than about 10 minutes worth he just wandered around the ground doing stuff all. Back to the Magoos for him. Has got heaps of upside but needs to get the ball and at Casey he may learn a bit more.He can take the Trac with him. This bloke reminds me of Tilbrook. Big, Classy but no idea and gets ahead of himself.Think he thinks he is better than what he really is. Stint at Casey will remind him what footy is all about. Will forgive Brayshaw, Hogan and others that have had it easy last few weeks for this game but they also need to lift when going gets a bit hard. Maybe a bit of a soft under belly here? Again not end of world but if we do not learn from these bad defeats against the tops sides and finally realise you need to work both ways then we are just making up the numbers. Time for the boys to stand up on a big stage on a Friday night in Adelaide. Can't wait to see the response.
