  1. Well, I hope we get the poor version as coming down from Brisbane with 2 Sons and Twin Grand Sons to watch first Anzac Eve game live. In fact, first time at G since our stirring win against the Cats in QF back whenever. Making it a Footy weekend as going to Magpies/Bombers then Saints/Lions before returning home Sunday. Trust the Demon faithful will be out in force tomorrow night and looking forward to a good win.
  2. You're not wrong. These 2 are supposed to be our future. At least try and tackle. Throw in Fritta and Woey as doing next to nothing and our so-called AFL players would be lucky to get a kick in the local comp let alone VFL. We are in a world of pain.
  3. This game could get very ugly. They have big fellas up forward and classy smalls plus a midfield that will run rings around ours. A decent back line also. Then again, all teams have a decent back line when playing our forwards. Just hope we can be competitive as coming down from Brissie for the Tigers game with Sons and Grandsons. Don't want to go to the G for first time in over 35 years and see us get a hiding from the Tigers.

Mate, you are spot on. I've been a fan of Goody but seriously he needs to be charged and go to court on murder charges as he is killing us with his game plan and lack of flair. Even the highly skilled youngsters that have just come in seem to be lost. We had over half the team last night that played in the GF and whilst it is 4 years ago only Gawn and Langdon are playing anywhere near their 21 forms. The rest of our coaches need to either get this team going or they need to also go including one of our favorite sons in Jones. Williams as skills coach also as our skill level is awful. Then we do kick well to the opposition!

Well, they have done Ok to half time keeping the premiers to only 4 goals! That's not a back line lacking!
  6. Have to agree re the forward coaching but IMO it is mainly our delivery. Even Fritta had 3 opportunities to lower eyes and give off a little kick or hand pass to players on their own and goals would have happened. Once he had 3 players spare including Kozzy and just had an angled shot and of course missed. This is what is needed the most. Our mid coaches and Goody must insist they look for spares when entering or in the forward line. Forwards need to keep on the move. Wouldn't hurt to ask J. Brown to come down a couple of times and work with JVR and Turner.
  7. Well, I'm as mad as your good self because I have a funny feeling, we will knock the puddy cats off on Friday night.
  8. I'm up here in Brisbane and If ever there is a shining light it is the 95% humidity that the Cats had to play in tonight. I walked the dog after rain stopped for 15 minutes just before the game started and came back wet as. They will not get home to the farms until tomorrow arvo so we have a big advantage. They will be stuffed especially the older guys so up to us this Friday. That humidity has to take heaps out of them.
  9. Goody mentioned a little while ago it is good to get the band back together. Well, these last 2 weeks the band of Gawn, Clarry, Trac and Viney have been given down right hidings by young, fit, strong and FAST mids . Emphasize FAST as today Rowell just ran away from Clarry that many times I couldn't keep up the count. Unfortunately, they all HAVE BEEN champions of this club but on recent form it appears the competition is moving away from them, and they are just shadows of their old self's. Throw in many VFL players that haven't the necessary skills and it looks like we are in for heaps of pain for the rest of this season. Sure, losing Lindsay and not having Windsor and Picket doesn't help but they will not win us games by themselves. We need everyone to contribute and start finding our own players by hand and foot. Dropping heaps of players albeit warranted is not the answer as looking at Casey today there is not a lot to come in and be good AFL players.
  10. Just wondering if the trainers take a mirror and brush out to him with the water so he can continue to look good because he is soft as butter and along with many of his mates do not deserve a game but alas, we have no one to take their places. Long year ahead fellow demonlanders. Even Max is again getting monstered along with the rest of the mid field.
  11. We have to many VFL players that are just not up to AFL standard. Skills once again letting us down and if it wasn't for GC keeping us in the game it would be all over. Please just hit targets in the 2nd half and we are still a show. Can't believe our lack of skills.

Who cares about the media. Win games of footy and they will quickly get off our back.
  13. Probably stating the bleeding obvious but this is really a crunch game which we MUST win. Don't care who is selected as long as the 23 players actually put in 110% effort and finally lower the eyes when going forward. If we don't respond this week then something is seriously wrong. Time to stand up Dees.
  14. Your last line is spot on. Our depth is ordinary at best. Looking at the Casey stats you have Bison, TC and Fullarton in the best. The rest struggled to get double digit disposals. I know a couple of our better players are out, but most teams have injuries and cover OK. As I mentioned last week and got a few negative responses our skills are not good. We miss kicks and handballs all too often. Time to have a week of just skills training. Maybe heaps of circle work like in the old days. Hope we can turn it around as coming down from Qld for the Anzac eve game with sons and grandsons and would love to see us back to our best. I can dream can't I!
  15. My 2 bobs worth. Skills, skills and more skills are lacking. Not sure what we did over summer but again our lack of skillful players let us down. They had Green, Greene, Coniglio, Whitfield & Callaghan all that find space and deliver in spades. We had Lindsay and not much else especially by foot. Salem played OK but those dinky little kicks that go higher than long put us under pressure. He needs to put some oomph into his kicks even those shorter ones. Great effort by the guys and stiff to lose it but our skills still letting us down. Special mention to TMac. Played a great game.
  16. Dub I think you're on the wine or something. No way is Langdon the sub
  17. No certainty

I reckon the Forward line is working OK. Keep having 35 shots at goal, particularly against a decent back line like the Dockers with quite a few from so called easy range and spots then we will win most games. Also, we had all these chances without JVR.
  19. Yep, same with me.
  20. I'm in as Docs Demons but chuck me out if you are filling up as also in Distractions comp.
  21. Overall, I was happy with our performance. Playing over in WA at a country oval against a pretty good side and only just losing is a plus in my view. The young fellas got to experience a trip with the team and will be better for the run. Only concern is we need a more even performance from our 3–5-year players to help out Trac, Clarrie, Gawn and JV. They just can't do it all on their own. Also kick straighter would help but all the stats show we will be up there this season.
  22. Looking forward to watching this game and see if we finally move the ball into the forwards with precise kicking and of course the forwards spreading and leading up to the ball carrier. And as with all of you no injuries.
  23. Look forward to watching if/when the club puts it up on the site.
  24. Agree. Reckon he is quick enough for AFL. Has excellent vision and can dispose well. Crippa and the Bont aren't the quickest around and there not too shabby.
  25. Who cares godees as it is only a match sim, and we get to see most of our youngsters and others that have come into our club. I'm excited to see what they can do, and the end result has no bearing on our chances this year.
