  1. I was at the Gabba amongst 6k Demon supporters and 60 Suns and have to agree also. Tyson out. He is slow and when wins the ball turns it over. Viney in for Tyson is only change for me. Keep The Weid and Spargo.
  2. Chalk and Cheese people. Hogan at this stage is miles in front of Daniher and I suspect will remain so. No need to go on with this topic.
  3. Could not agree more. Keep the Weid in and let him learn on the job. I like our forward set up at moment with Hogan and TMac roaming plus Weid hanging around must give opposition coaches headaches. Weid has a huge upside. Just wait for him to have a breakout game soon.
  4. Live up here in Brissie and forecast is 22 down to 9 overnight so I would think 1st half nice, dry deck but dew will set in for 2nd half.
  5. Like Tom Mac. If JV is fit you play him. Someone like him do not need a game at Casey. He is our Co Captain and comes straight in. Like wise with Salem. If fit they both play for definatley ANB and some one else that maybe a bit stiff to lose their spot. Take a pick out of Hunt or Harmes I would suggest
  6. Agree. Finally, I hope, we play 4 quarters consistently like yesterday. The only downer is letting late goals in when game over. 3 for Bombers and 2 for Saints. This will be a close season and every little bit of percentage required. Maybe nit-picking but must go hard till final siren. Next 2 games very important for us.
  7. Likewise and we will be 2 of about 5k there. Lions and Suns got less people than us and Lions so expecting plenty of room at the Gabba not like the Suns midfield putting up with Viney and Oliver. Heaven help if a Suns player gets caught in between these two.
  8. We have the similar player in Hunt !!!
  9. That is the problem. We have to many VFL standard players and not good VFL players at that. Until we can get some real depth with players pushing the AFL team we will continue to be a middle range team. Those people saying the likes of Stretch, Bugg, Pederson etc. are AFL players are kidding themselves. They and others at Casey should be dominating if they think they can be good AFL players. Pedo does it one week and goes missing the next. Not good enough. The list needs are a huge turnover to get more kids with class into Casey and develop them and only hope the 25 players of AFL ability we have can remain fit and healthy for a couple of years. Have a look at the outs at Geelong and they still win easily. Not good signs for us at moment.
  10. Right with ya there. I like the team and add as you said in Viney and Trac we will be OK.
  11. It helps DubDee if you can run and spread BUT get/ have the footy!!. All this crap about being an elite runner does not Gel with me. You actually need to get the footy then run and dispose of it to one of our own. These two might run but the odd time they get the footy they give it back. No good being a runner without the pill.I think it shows that our depth is not that great when we keep these two in the side. Not much out there to replace them. Maybe this week they might get the pill and pass nicely to one of our own even once would be nice!
  12. Also it would be nice if Gawn could actually tap the ball to our players instead of opposition. How many times did he hit to Tiges players. Dusty got a few freebies from him. Love Gawn to bits but he and his mates in the middle need to fix this shite up real quick.
  13. You have nailed it DB. No A Graders and plenty of good VFL players that are not up to AFL standard . 60 plus 40 odd point losses means we are not good enough and need to bring in players that can run, spread and more importantly kick the friggin thing to our players and not the other side. Our skills are terrible.
  14. I'm going to say it again unfortunately we have to many good VFL/Local Comp players that will do OK at Casey but just are not up to AFL level. I start with Stretch (his old man would be disappointed) then Harmes, ANB, Wagner, Brayshaw followed by Garlett, Hunt, Vince and Hunt. The biggest problem we have is the guys to replace are not much better. Therefore I have no answers and seeing I have followed this rabble since 64 and paid up member I can only hope I see some effort, improvement, guts and determination before I go. Need to realise after 5 rounds we ARE JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Need to turn the list around again.
  15. Spot on here. We win the ball enough even against the Hawks but just bomb it into forwards who are out of position. Take an extra second, look for a team mate and we will be 50% better team.
  16. I'm sorry and I hope I am very wrong but my view is other than the 1st qtr he was running on the spot. Has no pace at all and like most of his mates turned the ball over. Happy to give him another chance as it was his 1st game but he really needs to find some pace somewhere to burst out of tight situations. Many times he seemed to be standing still when opposition just ran past and from him.
  17. Sorry but can't find any positive comments to say after that effort against what I reckon will be a bottom 8 side at best.
  18. Goodwin also made a bad blew in his presser. He said Hawks were structurally better than us. Bloody hell what was he and the other 100 coaches in the box doing. Just letting Clarkson and the Hawks run all over him. Bad move Coach admitting they had it over you. Plenty of hard look into the mirror stuff required before Tigers.
  19. Lewis, Harmes, Bugg must go and also due to lack of pace, Brayshaw is in danger. Vince is gone. The older players tend to not put there heads over the ball and look for easy options. Lewis and Vince were perfect examples of this. Unfortunately we have to many great VFL players that are just not up to AFL standard. This week at training we should go back to the old days and do just kick to kick and circle work. Some of the skills showed today were pathetic. Fumbled and when we did win the ball just bombed it straight back to the Hawks. I would throw the Trac and Hoges in this also. They would rather wait to comb their hair for the photo before looking for a player in better popsition. Tough but real.
  20. Great insight TU. I mentioned in pre game thread that had the VBs ready up here in warm Brissie and we would win comfortably. Well now I have taken time after the game to have dinner with family and after getting some of the VBs out of the TV realised we are just not good enough. TU mentioned the many VFL standard players we have and I agree but also would throw in Brayshaw.. OK first game for year but after the first quarter he was running on the one spot. In fact most of our players do. No pace, no direction and the fumbling was terrible. This is a bad a loss as we have had in many years as I do not consider the Hawks to be a top team. Bloody hell they had basically no bench for last two quarters and gave us a hiding. Harmes, Brayshaw, Bugg, Milkshake, Garlett ( I love him but goes missing to much), Wagner, Lewis, Vince to name a few need to go. Wont happen but Goodwin needs to make a statement here and make multiple changes. That performance cannot be tolerated.
  21. 32 degrees up here in Brissie. Pool ready for Grand Kids, VBs ready for me and Son and Fox Footy on the TV it is. Dees to win comfortably.
  22. I think and hope we win fairly easily. Our form is not that bad even though some posters believe we are not playing well. Plenty of inside 50's in all 3 games. Just need to be a bit cleaner going forward and we will absolutely thrash a team. Should have, could have beaten Cats. Brisbane in Brisbane on a hot, humid night was a good win. Look at Lions. They nearly beat Port in Adelaide so there form is not bad then gave North a start and won by 6 goals. We continue winning the ball in contests and lower eyes going forward a win is on cards this Sunday.
  23. We will give them a horrible hiding.
  24. Been up here from Melbourne since 91 and last night was as warm a late March night I have been out in. Was on ground after game with Grand Sons and under those lights it was very uncomfortable. Ground very wet with dew so all of us have to take this into consideration and bank the 26 point win. Watching live the boys were spent but kept at it. Yes some struggled but they kept trying where as in past some may have turned their toes up. Also had a good chat with Brendan McCartney after game and naturally he will say the right club things but mentioned we are on right track and it was a difficult night. Also that Lever is learning to be a man on man defender and will become a valuable player for us. All up I was satisfied with the effort and to stop Lions challenge and run away with win is encouraging. For those not happy you need to just take the win and see us improve as season goes on. Be positive and not negative people.
