  1. We are weak as P. Players and Caches need to look into the mirror big time and see if they are willing now to have a go seeing Giants lost. Win one of Swans/Freo and most likely in. Now we have to turn up Saturday night against Giants. Still I have no faith but who knows what team will turn up.
  2. I'd go Hodge. Tough and will not take any crap. Untried I know but has all the attributes to succeed.
  3. I've got no idea what has happened to this side in last 2 games. Was at the Gabba against Magpies and we moved the ball well, switching, hitting the corridor etc. etc then go Cairns and as soon as it is a bit wet or windy we go back to just throwing it on the boot or down the line. Did we at any time against Sydney or Freo try to take it on and switch or going down the middle. Don't think so. How can we play so well against Magpies then put up that crap in last 2 games.
  4. Spot on. Our top 6 or so are as good as any in the comp but our bottom 6-10 are just horrible and bring us down every time. I dare to say some of them would not get a game for North at present. That's how bad they are.
  5. That has just about done me. As a Qld member and been paying for myself and twin Grand Sons membership now for over 15 years these last 2 efforts has put me over the edge and will seriously look at not renewing next season. Now 68 and I think I have no hope of seeing this team win consistently or even get close to a flag before I go. At least I was at the G as a 12 year old in 64. Now for a bit of a rant. You posters wanting speed in the team have got rocks in your heads. Speed is fine but you need to get the ball first. Kozzie, Baker, Bedford, Hunt are all local comp players at best. Not even VFL standard. Might be able to run fast but they run fast away from the play. Throw in the plodders like ANB, Smith, Lever, Melk and also the witch hat up forward in Weid who did not lay a tackle again and you have ONE ORDINARY team. Oh by the way throw one coach in there as well. That's a coach and about half the team that played tonight need to go before I even consider following this useless mob for my next 68 years!!!! That's it.
  6. Dub I'm with you on tonight but against you with GWS. Win tonight and I think we have a real chance against GWS at the Gabba. GWS coming back from Adelaide with one less day rest and we play well at the Gabba. Was there for the Magpies game and play like that we can beat them. So win tonight, a good chance against GWS then over to Bombers game. Of course drop tonight and she's all over folks.
  7. Appears that way plus Smith must his fav also. Those 2 should have been dropped also along with Fritter and ANB very lucky. It is basically our last chance so just hope this team gets going and wins well and then see what happens against GWS
  8. I'm sorry but it is everyone's role to tackle and in my opinion more so mid and forward so ball stays in for repeat chances. You cannot have blokes like Weid, Friita and Melk not putting pressure on and not tackling. This is a silly statement. Look at Ablett Snr, Carey, Brown, Brereton etc. etc. They did not let players brush past them like our guys do.
  9. What worries me about the Weid is his lack of endeavour. Whilst the ball is not coming in well you can still chase, harass and tackle. He did none of these. Him and Fritter just hang an arm out and let the oppo just walz past them. Throw Melk in that also.
  10. To be a Demon supporter since 64 (as I have) you need to be tough and have thick skin plus have plenty of resilience. Most of us have these attributes. PITY THE PLAYERS DON'T
  11. I mentioned in the pre game thread we will win if we come to play. Unfortunately in the first minute I said to the Missus we are not on. Those 2 Trac efforts in first minute set the tone. Instead of kicking he decided to do fancy handballs straight to Sydney. I am not going to go into the pathetic effort by most players just that I have realised we are not good enough with about 10 players today not up to AFL standard. We are doing well to be still in contention but I fear that will be over come Monday night. Absolute pathetic excuse for a football team.
  12. Mills out can only help us. One of there better 5 players. We just have to be switched on from start and should get over the line. Go Dees
  13. No sure if you are a Cairns supporter but unless it rains it will not be greasy at 4.40pm nor at 6.30pm when finishing. Only 27 degrees tops and slight chance of a shower. On Kozzie. He has had his chances and has not delivered. Time for him to get back to training and learn more of his craft. He will make it one day but is doing nothing for us at present
  14. You rest Gawn after just the one game in a little while and you could lose to Swans which may finish our season. If Maxy is any where near fit you play him. Full Stop.
  15. Enjoy it mate and trust we get over the line for you. Play 4 quarters of hard footy and we can win. Emphasis on 4 quarters.
  16. Agree. These changes are not as bad a most on here think. Fritta whilst may have been late for training is always late to get to a contest. Harmes in poor form and the ins of Gawn, Jones and Rivers must help and Omac will release Lever to intercept. I just hope those on here bagging the club will eat their words when we get a win in Alice. Remember we play Ok there and Saints have not seen the ground. Plus Saints are not that good.
  17. Exactly. Forget it. Will not happen and happy for this.
  18. Agree re having a shocker and only really just losing. I reckon close to our worst performance for season along with Port game. Whereas Dogs played to their best ability so I plenty of upside for us. Saints game critical and we will bounce back. Extra day to recover and playing in Alice where Saints have not played before. Bring our best and should win well as we do play Alice ground well.
  19. That last line is spot on. We are not that good and always fall apart when pressure is put on including our so called stars. Trac whilst he got plenty of the ball gave it up all so easily.
  20. Great position to be in. Fit squad and Max to come back. Knock of the Doggies and we are looking good. Backs should contain them and as long as we break even in the middle reckon our forwards will get job done. Go Dees.
  21. Plus I'm happy with the Weid and a fit Jacko who will turn heads big time next season. Add in Kozzie and our other small/medium forwards where in the hell would you play him even if in a good sound position health wise.
  22. No for me as I think he has not much footy left in him. Appears from afar he does not have the desire.
  23. And a bloody good leader to boot. Heard him a few times on Saturday directing players and encouraging in a loud voice. Glad he is on our side.
