  1. Not convinced with Harmes in the backline. Reckon he's wasted there. Performed heaps better in 2nd half when thrown on the ball and forward. Put Salem back in his spot and throw him back into the middle even if it is off the bench.
  2. We still bomb the ball into forward line. 2 weeks to get our backs and mids to lower their eyes and forwards to lead at the ball carrier, thus allowing the smalls to come in and crumb. Otherwise a good game with limited involvement from Gawn & Jones playing only a half and a fairly quiet game from Oliver. Looking forward to the Weagles.
  3. No brainer. Weids is miles in front of Jackson at this stage. Jackson played a half, and at that the 2nd half when opposition were tiring however every time got pushed off the ball. Needs plenty of time at Casey. In a year or two Jacko will be miles in front of Weids . He is just not ready at moment.
  4. Doing some reno's at home and found in a box the 2002 Aust Footy Legends rare vintage port bottle with Robbie on it and signed by him. Can't even remember buying the Port however it was a members only restricted edition.. Gave his records on the back and surprised he was only in the all Aust team only twice. In any case I'm sure the Port will be still Ok and when it cools down up here in Qld I will open it and drink to him and hopefully plenty of wins this year. What a great player he was.
  5. You need to realise that Lever is not a big fella and best suited to float around the back line, reading the play and what we got him for to intercept and drive us forward.
  6. Couldn't agree more. AVB and HB will be carefully managed and no need to play them in any game unless fully ready. AVB may play more on limited training loads but I'm sure the club has him at the stage where he can perform consistently. I have great admiration for the club's fitness staff now with most players recovering well and HB can take as long as possible because we get him on the park after 2/3 lost years we will have a champion in the making for next to nothing. We all need to hope he continues on this slow, careful road to recovery.
  7. Thanks DD. I am getting old but thought he mentioned Trac. In any case it does not matter who he refered to it was just good listening to Tom in commentary and I stand by that all the players seem to be really in a good space.
  8. Also got a chuckle when he mentioned Trac saying he is a leader (as all are leaders now) and wants to get into the leadership meetings!!. I have a very good vibe about this year. They all seem to be on the one page, Trac signing on for another 2 years, less injuries and all seem to be getting on with each other and enjoying the pre season. Trust this continues and I reckon we might just surprise a few people this season.
  9. Got reno's happening at home and no fox tonight and next few days so tried to get updates on AFL site. That would have to be the worst website I have come across. Hard to get the scores unless your a Telstra client let alone watch it on the comp. At least I saw the game against North via web.. Listening through internet on radio now. AFL are clueless on supporters needs.
  10. He will need some big big games at Casey to force himself into the one's as I suspect he has next to no chance for Round one
  11. I am getting full screen on my comp up here in Qld
  12. NEVER fell over. A brilliant footballer.
  13. Great news and could well be a domino effect with others coming up to the end of existing contracts. It seems that these young fellas are in it together which is terrific for the club and of course us old suffering supporters.
  14. Doesn't that make you feel the members were not welcome.
  15. If taking anything from the official team photo shoot it looks likely Viney and Gawn as Co Captains being either side of Goody. I would then go for Lever (great communicator at Maroochy), Jetta and Tom Mac.
  16. I couldn't care less who they play or don't. If we are going to be any good we have to win this 1st round, not only for players own confidence but for the club as a whole plus of course relieves the pressure on the coach with a first up win. We can do it with who ever plays for us or them.
  17. He did the full session on the Friday and bits and pieces on the Sunday. Told me his leg/knee was fine but that is now over a week ago and no doubt something flared up. He is as fit as he has been ever so reckon a minor hiccup. ( I hope)
  18. Thanks Saty. That may stop a few on here from doing harm to themselves!!
  19. Players I spoke to at Maroochy said if they feel any sort of little niggle they need to inform the staff and get off for a check so hopefully only minor and await the reports later.
  20. Stars did their normal thing and chocked big time. Never liked teams with no guts and that is in all sports. This stars team have none at all. Front runners and pretty boys. Marcus hits it to some one that just moved there and Maxy goes the big slog against a class bowler and misses.Game over as they have no decent back up although Larkin has proved himself. The rest of the Batters should get back to club cricket quick.
  21. Reckon he is spot on with RDB with Robbie close up his backside.
  22. Kozzie certainly has that X factor however as you noticed in this clip and I noticed last Sundya that his disposal is just not there at the moment. He gets the ball OK however kicking to a team mate lets him down. Will improve I'm sure with more training.
