  1. Have to agree. Also I was at game and he made some good positions when we had ball and our guys would not kick to him. Strange.
  2. I was at the ground and we seemed to panic to many times and returned to all in and no one on outside. On a few occasions even Kossie was sucked into the contest even in pack marking in lieu of staying on outside and getting a loose ball. Many times the ball spilled out and only Brisbane players were there. Must correct this if we are to have a run at the finals. And whilst I think Bennell can be a good player for us his efforts out there tonight were shocking. Watched him closely a few times and never pushed hard to assist his mates. Just a lack of effort. Harmes and Brayshaw need to find some good form soon also.
  3. Live half way between Bris and GC and it is starting to clear. Top Temp of 23 so agree Vagg the ground will dry out by 6pm and be in OK condition. Looking forward to this game and the Port, Magpies and hopefully North games. At our best we will beat the Lions.
  4. Gee I thought this thread was about bringing Hogan back. I must be mistaken. In any case he can stay over West and play as many games as his body allows which I suspect won't be many.
  5. Maybe a wet track but I live up here and you can't rely on the forecast. At this stage only 1-5mm expected with sunny breaks. I suspect it will be fine by start. With Jones, I agree he has sore shoulders over the years, carrying most but i want to see him run back hard when they have ball instead of jogging through middle.
  6. Interesting. Bit of a dog's breakfast to me. At least they get a run
  7. I'm in between Brisbane and Gold Coast and just starting to have light rain now. Forecast for GC on Sunday is 8-15mm mainly morning and early afternoon with some sunny breaks so hopeful by 6pm it will be OK. In any case better playing in rain than a heavy dew.
  8. Not that worried about Cameron. We win midfield battle ensures they attack from defence and gives us time to block the space in their forward line. My main guys I would like a hard tag on are Neale and Andrews. Harmes to Neale and someone to stay on Andrews even if he goes to someone else.
  9. Mainly in morning. Suspect it will clear in arvo and be fine for game time. At least with cloud around it shouldn't be dewy
  10. With you here mate. Most have a cry but as the old saying goes "when the going gets tough the tough get going". It's up to us to play good footy to watch, win games and the AFL will then start gifting us prime time games and just maybe look at us like the Magpies, Bombers etc. I have no issues at all with the fixture and I'm sure the Coaching staff and players will take it in their stride. Beat Brisbane Sunday on the GC and then Port also up here in Qld the following week and our season is set up nicely. No use whinging about it. GET ON WITH IT.
  11. Yep I got my 3 complimentary tickets (myself and twin grand sons) after email from club. Great effort by the club and much appreciated. Mate of mine who has interstate membership with Carlton does not get complimentary tickets so good on you MFC
  12. We need to keep a settled team so no changes for me. Brisbane back home albeit at GC will be tough. They are back home and drive 40 minutes down road to game where we fly in Monday and need to settle in again. Will be a great challenge but pull this one off and the Comp and Media will be all over us.
  13. Probably but then Frosty will give it straight back.
  14. Spot on "Balls" I've been crying out for our Mids etc to lower their eyes, have a quick look around and kick in front of leading forwards. Big improvement last night resulting in us kicking highest score so far. Below the shoulders we are as good as anyone. Starting to get better above the shoulders and hopefully this improvement continues and onwards and upwards from here. I hope!!
  15. No change. Trust TMac gets up. I thought Jetta was fine. His pressure was good and deserves another game. Let's get some continuity into this team now please. No use making changes for players to come in that are not going to be better than those they are replacing.
  16. Yep. To quick for those umpires. About time they sort Treloar out. Just about throws every time in traffic. What about those Dee rejects. Frost I would say was just OK but Frawley and Scully were next to being liabilities.
  17. I respect your view here SWYL however do you realistically think our small membership will increase enough to assist in paying for a so called gun coach. I don't think so.
  18. We cannot afford to 1- get rid of Goodwin or 2- get Lyon or Clarkson so forget about it.
  19. Spot on. Whilst we have a few with talent overall it is now evident the list is just so so with a hell of a lot of the same types. We drop 10 and put 10 in they in my opinion will be similar and same old story. Get ball and turn ball over.
  20. No because Jones at least has a heart and most times disposes the ball correctly not like Hunt. This crap about pace is getting to me. Pace does not win games. It is what you do with the ball when you have it. You move the ball with precision and the whole team looks fast Hunt can run fast but just can't play. Unfortunately AT PRESENT we have 20-25 players on our list that are barely VFL standard so make what ever changes you want and it will make no difference. I would love to drop Oliver, Viney and Brayshaw due to their inability to drive forward. How many times do these guys win the ball and in lieu of moving forward lowering eyes to a leading player go back into congestion and in the end cough the pill up. I would hate being a forward in this team.
  21. Not a bad effort ( being smart) by Goody and his team picking 3 talls out of the 4 inclusions. Know they will not all play but looking at weather for Melb on Sunday it will be wet. Good picks if playing up here in Qld during day but give me a break how in the hell do they come to this decision. Add in Spargo who just can't play the game and we are in big trouble. Hope not but not at all confident on this team.
  22. Get back on topic please
  23. Pity. Was hoping to go down to GC and watch them.
  24. Spot on about our mids. Brayshaw is the only one that looks like kicking a goal. Our red haired guy and his mate Viney got no idea how to kick a goal shown by the stupid hand balling fiasco 40 yards out on Sunday instead of kicking a goal. Have a look at the young red headed guy up this way (Qld). Think he's averaging 2 goals a game last 3 games
  25. We still haven't learnt what to do in the forward line. At one stage it was like the Benny Hill show with Viney and Oliver handballing to themselves about 40 yards out until one of them coughed it up. No idea what to do with the ball but I have a suggestion. Just tell them to kick the bloody thing. Kaos footy would be better as it may bounce to one of ours.
