  1. I appreciate the support of what this thread is about @La Dee-vina Comedia. I for one wanted a concise space to come to make sense of what the team does, strategy wise - and I appreciate everyone has their points of view...and many many views are far more forensic than the levels I get to myself. Nonetheless if the language used feels too cliched or simply [censored]'s you, you don't have to engage in the thread... I have no idea what Trello is either...
  2. I've got my views on the game plan but would like input from others...if you can be ar$ed. Overall Description (how would you describe the gameplan with a mate at the pub) Contested overload the f50 Strengths Contested posession I50's Weaknesses Two way running No leg pace on the outside transitions currently poor spread currently poor keeping ball in F50 cohesion b/w back and mids forward line functioning wide ball movement currently poor Opportunity return of key personnel fitness increasing as season progresses cohesion through direct experience of playing as a unit... Threats fitness decreasing as season progresses
  3. I'd argue, that was the media's perspective (and perhaps some supporters) ...there is no way this FD would waste a spot on dead wood (JKH excluded )
  4. Come down the coast either to the Collendina in Ocean Grove or the Barwon Heads Hotel (recently refurbished) far nice accomodation and atmosphere than what you'd get in G-Town itself.
  5. Are you suggesting that Jordan Lewis coming on board has been a failure? I'd say at worst - he's been competent and provided real leadership - with moments of ineptitude... The final year of the contract was probably on his terms to get it over the line - and as a supporter I'd say that 'wearing' the cost of that has been worth it.
  6. I'm wrapped that the anxiety of the potenital to be an undefeated 'champion' team for 2019 (whilst winning the Grand Final) is no longer an option... now we can get on with the business of winning games
  7. At least Ollie Wines won't tear Viney a new one...
  8. Whilst I know this to be true- I assume i've never had a clause as I'm bog average... Touchè
  9. Just like the rest of industry
  10. Correct - ball movement (better than leg speed), defensive pressure in the F50, our contested work and positioning from defenders
  11. TMAC is there - imagine if the middle one was his bro - this place would meltdown! ps...it's goodwin for mine...
  12. Oh! Well, thanks for the reality slap there @ManDee - maybe I’m still caught in the late 80’s early 90’s full forward expectations.
  13. This thread to me highlights the anxiety for some folk about what we have as our forward stocks... which is fair enough, so ill keep this reductionist. What is pass mark for Sam this year? Me: 2 goals a game avg: 2 score involvements and creating space for TMAC.
  14. Mmm, well let’s disagree. I don’t think your sentiments are reflective of the world we live in, or even grounded in reality. I suppose you’ve given 100% day in day out of course...
  15. Man you bang on about your agenda 109% though don’t you. The game is littered with people that haven’t given what others would consider enough, it’s their perogitive. Clubs know that not everyone will commit, even though there is support surrounding them. Hogan’s life is his, it’s not yours and it’s his privilege to do it how he wants. Every player is a risk, be it on talent, potential or desire. That’s ok isn’t it? Or in your view - is everyone who is employed within the ‘utopian space’ of afl, weak if they don’t give there darndest 109% of the time... I
  16. Hunt... ????

i assume all other club captains/substitute captains got a photo also...bit like santa for kiddies?
  18. so, we have two captains that haven't attended...what do the conspiracy theorists read into this?
  19. I suppose this is the end... https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2019-03-12/jkh-sidelined-for-12-weeks?fbclid=IwAR2Hr5AIhANUlTupR41waA5A8c2CqT-qs7gXK7bL_6k5BvlEZrAHEu2UXCY
  20. They're not mutually exclusive experiences @The Stigga... but perhaps @binman for the sake of semantics could have used 'disappointed'...
  21. FMD lads, what team DOESNT do this when there are no viable options... do you want perfection with every play?
  22. Are you subtlety suggesting he needs more depth in his kicking?
  23. huh?
  24. @hemingway - My personal stance on the need to redesign AFL for the youth market is one of cynicism - but the sport isn't just for me and my generation. But the marketing arm of the AFL - operate in that space and use that language - it is a product, thus, how do we maximise consumption? Let's jazz hand it up a bit Language evolves, from my vantage point - it in itself is not the problem. The 'problem' is age old and about a simple schism in generational thinking...yeah yeah I know you know this @hemingway - you're a savvy cat. - ie: in the 50's - parents viewed Bill Haley as Ozzy Osbourne of the 70's and Marilyn Manson of the 90's Things evolve - people are either open to it or not - it doesnt make the change either right or wrong...let's get buddhist on it.... it is what it is.
  25. correct - innovation is about iteration's ..and yes sometimes youfuckup
