  1. Is this like when Frawley was played forward to 'experiment' even though he was off to Hawthorn - and it aided us getting higher draft picks?
  2. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/afl-likely-to-give-darwin-zone-to-struggling-gold-coast-20190724-p52a8u.html THIS WAS JUST RELEASED!
  3. So, what or whom would we likely give up for Ed?
  4. Nah, surely it's someone with a personal connection to Ratten who is aiming to further his agenda (not that this site is Linkedin or Seek.com I suppose), why else would you put that stuff out there?
  5. Are you Ratten's manager?
  6. Ahh I spent the first 18years of my life in Portland - and played against Billy Pickens son Marcus up in Hamilton in U/16 U18’s when he got drafted. Not too many Melbourne supporters down that way - nor players - but I believe Ian ‘Tiger’ Ridley was from there originally. Anyway thanks to my old man, I’ve learned you cannot have any pleasure without a lot of pain.
  7. Lever, May, Lewis...er MITCH CLARK?
  8. Imagine if Lyon was relevant... It's as laughable as Molloy being outwardly disappointed on his media platform and expecting the Richmond players to somehow think they'll use that as motivation. As if they're school children disappointing their expectant parents yelling at them on the boundary line in u14's.
  9. IMO - the game plan has clearly evolved BAMF - I don't believe we play 'chaos' footy (and personally think the use of that term suits an agenda inline with this is why we are fatigued, this is why we have injuries). We slow it down, we have moments of great ball movement, as evidenced against a range of teams. Tis a shame for whatever reason a range of players are innaccurate in front of goal. We have 3 players in particular that seem to be able to hit a target perhaps 20% of the time going i50 - viney, brayshaw and ANB - the delivery and then the resultant shots on goal are the issue. I still have faith in Goodwin and the FD..and the fact that the FD will terminate a range of contracts within the FD.
  10. is Baker our langdon already in the system?
  11. Thanks for the plain english - but it is so meta, i still cannot get my head around it
  12. Interesting opinion @John Demonic. I think it's a borderline call. My lens is, will he be part of our next premiership? I think that's highly doubtful, moreso than likely, thus let's blood some kids and send the bloke off in style...whilst we get his football acumen from a coaching perspective.
  13. except for the times we don't
  14. Er, i didn't see it - what happened?
  15. will it make goodwin a crap coach if we can't?
  16. i don;t love how all the afl highlights are only WCE
  17. mmmm, not the first time at all, agreed.
  18. Are you saying that first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth etc etc year coaches, don't continue their professional development and evolve?
  19. I don't think it is wise, or accurate to use any other team as a reference point of what can be done, when there are injuries. Because it's difficult to measure what each individual who is injured how they impact on the team dynamics. Further, let alone analysing whom the team comes up against on a particular week with respect to their oppositions own, form, fitness and confidence levels. We are not a joke, nor are we a laughing stock, that's just language used out of frustration. We will come back next year, maybe not to the extent that we want, andwe will improve. Goodwin is a good coach, who is learning... you don't get to a prelim by being a [censored] coach.
  20. Well, for some reason - I always felt he got the chop a bit too earlier, so lacked continuity. @Satyriconhome do you know if he WILL be elsewhere next season within the AFL itself? Hope so, seemed like a nice bloke.
  21. I see fatigue as a factor, not in the sense that game plan induces fatigue more readily than any other, moreso our players are young, and they were up for 6-8 weeks Goodwin wont change the style, merely to adapt to who we have on the park (or who we dont).... They and the FD would have hoped for better this year... and knowing the nuances understand that with limited prep and all the injuries...then the year was to play out poorly, which isn't a reason in itself to change the course of building a system with continuity. He and the FD can willingly write this year off - and are still playing the game over the next few years. I'll repeat, Goodwin's style isn't anymore fatiguing than any other. They all have to run, and they all get smashed.
  22. Zing, as soon as wrote that - I thought someone would pass this comment
  23. Reduce interchange rotations. I'm thinking of how cooked we were against Carlton in the 4th in particular, and how we couldn't run, couldn't tackle etc. The players would have to conserve energy, throughout the rest of the match - there would be more one on ones...it would then be a spectacle.
