  1. I reckon you're pulling the trigger early @Deehumanizing on May. However I am sure you've made your mind up and the bloke has only played 1 game. I personally think he will compliment the back 6 really well due to his skills sets... and I think with the pace of the game - Goodwin and the FD are wanting the zone, rather than the man on man - but OMAC ((as @binman) has stoutly defended) and May will be more of the one on one player that OMAC - anchor's if you will - whilst the others get to rebound.
  2. What bits are you unsure about @DemonLad5? He's a pretty good kick on the run and set shot, has pretty high tackle pressure - and even the inferred pressure of his speed is there... I personally rate him up forward. Hore is rock solid - brave - happy to cop a hit, just needs to get depth in his kicking (although his 50m goal against GCS semi disproves that)....
  3. 100% Clint, that was my vibe - it's a shame for Lewis, but his little slip sliding goose is cooked...
  4. @Mazer Rackham , do you have Trac's schedule on your iphone?
  5. love it - can you bold OMAC
  6. theyve had a dave williams with them for 3/4 years now.
  7. well, we have turned a corner in many many respects this game - irrespective of the outcome.
  8. one more goal to us , and it blows it open right!??
  9. As The Small Faces once sang... “And, depending on my labour...the texture and the flavour” - same as a football career I presume... Song of a Baker
  10. I like your optimism and hope it plays out that way. The pessimist in me says we will be down by 5 goals come 1/4 time.
  11. That statement feels rather contradictory The first part -means he was close the second part - means he was nowhere near it....
  12. Mostly I find AFL coaches the opposite of innovative - particularly in relation to attack/offense - as mentioned in other posts notably by @binman I believe. The torp of course when pulled off is a thing of beauty, can beat a line of defensive players by 10 yards or so...but as coaches are risk averse - you'd be dropped for daring to pull it out mid play as a deliberate strategy. Goodwin was clearly trying some different things - high press, 7/8 players coming off the back square etc - but he is one of the few to test these things out.
  13. I know - and we have 3 wins! Imagine how unstoppable we will be, when it is rectified
  14. Well it's one way to get the attention of the Gen Z's/youth market
  15. I for one was at the game and thought it was clear he (OMAC) was hobbling - I thought the narrative on the access all video's that he was on his haunches - thus stuffed/unfit - was disappointing - and also quite misleading or at least not taking into account some obvious hobbling going on from OMAC.
  16. His grunt and preparedness to get smashed (ie: against adelaide 2 years ago as well) - beguiles his pretty boy looks thats for sure.
  17. @binman - I agree with the sentiment - AND to add another layer, I find it incredible to see that the replacements cannot hit targets consistently, and surely they should be able to, or even take one grab marks... Mind you... it's not just Melbourne - its 13/14 other teams also.
  18. anyone care to guide through why our i50's are so poor?
  19. Just on this... surely the public aren't the only ones aware of how we have an inablity to convert i50's to scoring shots. Goodwin should move away from 'unselfish' football and get everyone to blaze away.... i suspect it'd be more effective. ps... 2 games in one year for having more I50's than your total points scored. Well done Melbourne!
  20. I've just got back from the ground, and luckily my apartment had foxtel record, so i could see the last 2 minutes. Aside from the fumbles... what I have noticed live, is how we handball at all costs... to effing flat footed people... it's incredible and exemplified by OMAC getting tackled in the last 2 minutes at the top of the 50. And that isn't really about OMAC - although I've never seen a player have 3 fresh air swings for a spoil in a game before... By god, we have a lot of work to do... By god, it's great that we can grind out wins when we play like $hite.
  21. Saw Todd Viney, strolling/swaggering down the street about an hour ago - I asked what his take was... he politely told me to eff off - nah , he was quietly and humbly confident that the job would get done. (of course, what else would he say?)
  22. Love it @GCDee - they're my thoughts... wouldn't be surprised either way, either... and of course that means you can't get hurt when things go bad from the beginning, or go bad when things have been going well... such is the life of a Melbourne supporter!
  23. Hope you're right @Little Goffy! Also on PBS on Sat - was a tribute to all things 'Little' if you're into 50's 60's soul https://www.pbsfm.org.au/program/soulgroove-66
  24. I'm expecting James Harmes to continue his form - create a range of scoring opportunities, and jag 3 goals. He is a fine fine player and I look forward to seeing him play live for the first time this year. Of the 2014 draft (he was a 2014 rookie,) Brayshaw ANB Petracca OMAC Harmes Brayshaw and him are neck and neck with respect to importance to the team, and their influence on the game, compared to the others.
  25. I like the look of this small electric ford boom tish...
