  1. oh, so two from two then...normal service resumed.
  2. An outsiders perspective on did we win the Kelly trade? And the answer is...
  3. oh so not "sahr low".. a la Bruce.
  4. I didn't believe you - but you are right... I wonder how many of those gimme's goals he sprayed, even if 75% were converted would have topped up his goal tally for the year... https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_player_compare?playerStatus1=A&tid1=12&playerStatus2=A&tid2=5&type=A&pid1=4041&pid2=4043&fid1=S&fid2=S
  5. go on, throw a tasty morsel... ?
  6. I've worked out your real identity - you're either the Dali Lama, or E.Kant.
  7. Jeez I feel this is an insensitive comment. He is prioritising his well being at this particular juncture in his life, and that includes 'going home' for all the wellbeing that move will give him, whilst he is still pursuing a career in the industry that he can command a great salary in. Also, the league is so tight, that Freo could comfortably make finals within the next 3 years (as could any team bar Carlton)...in which case they're in the premiership window to use common vernacular. I think it is such a reductionist statement.
  8. Erm, slowly getting drunk in a pub in the Orkney islands on a sunday afternoon when I was a wee lad of 22, in 03' In walks a couple my parents age... get talking , from australia, "whereabouts" "adelaide" "oh, me, I'm from Melbourne....that Andrew Mcloud goes alright" "yeah, we don't follow adelaide - we're melbourne supporters" ....a few more drinks...turns out they had been at my parents wedding in country vic in 1968..and hadn't spoken since!
  9. ugh...there was no effing alternative was there... FFS - let it go, he did not want to be within the 4 walls of the melbourne football club.
  10. A whisper that it was player led... and my point being far less about Jesse, and far more about the incumbents.
  11. I need some acknowledgement - I'm sure roughly 150 pages ago in a somewhat drunken stupor, I said we'd hit 500 on this thread... ps: some entertaining questions re: Hogan tonight sorted for PJ @Demonland???
  12. not suprised you were the narrator of this thread Remember that it's about the bigger picture and filling deficits...and if a player doesnt really want to be there, with where his contract is...you can insist as much as you want , but the hand, is the hand.
  13. Thanks Jesse you got us to finals, you gave us hope, and you can move on to a cruisier life in Freo potentially. A whisper was this was player led re: professionalism and standards...so as some people say he didn't buy into Melbourne FC, maybe not quite the case, just who Melbourne FC now want to be. All the best JH for whatever comes next.
  14. 1. That doesn't need to be public consumption - we don't deserve to know why, it's irrelevant. 2.The genuine attempt to keep someone begins from day one of entry into the club... and if someone STILL doesn't want to be there, then it's not because of the genuine attempts...
  15. Fun game this one... are you linking KK to the May trade? or do you see it separately?
  16. That @Whispering_Jack's gag mate
  17. Bit rough on Mr and Mrs Lever there . As a Dr, @Dr. Gonzo you lean to the nature side rather than the nurture eh ? ?
  18. It's pronounced Car - day. Like Kanye or even Sadè Car Day Colo Jazz Knee
  19. Not really, @Petraccattack- The opposite of love isn't hate, it's apathy. And you and everyone who is raging against the length of the trade period, will not give up your love for the game... you'll just pi$$ and moan about it.
  20. We’re all hostage in the AFL version of the Truman show. All the players, agents journo’s, ceo’s, heads of recruitment etc, are the actors. They’ve received their scripts post Rd 23, and you and I are Jim Carrey, thinking this is real...and then the realisation of the reality starts to dawn. The outrage... The drama... The betrayal... It is just entertainment after all...
  21. Nothing surer than 6.15pm on Wednesday under the bright lights ‘Hogan to Fremantle on 6 year, $6,000,000 deal.’
  22. why would they get involved @Lucifer's Hero... noise about the slowness of tradeweek is still good noise for the afl.
