  1. Don't get sucked in by that sad individual. His commentary says far more about his character than those he is purportedly assessing. GFY
  2. Not the type we need. Slowish mid. We won't be getting too excited about this prospect. I don't think we should get a Bonar, although he would inject some hardness into our list.
  3. On this @stevethemanjordan I want to be wrong and see that Frost plateaus or regresses elsewhere...and that we get value for whatever we get for him, and I do understand that there are salary cap constraints and players that we are trying to bring in. My concern is that we are trading out a physically gifted defender, albeit a flawed one, but one that we have invested heavily in that is just starting to show some evidence of getting his game together. My contention is that we are selling too early, but yeah, I want to be wrong.
  4. Righto. Let's revisit this in 12 months.
  5. Add me to the list of people that think trading Frost is a [censored] stupid idea. Because it is.
  6. He's fairly slippery and a good user. Seems to me to be an unrealised talent.
  7. This. We had major issues with the health of the list alin 2019 and i was never going to be our year. The mental capitulation, and our failure to eke out a couple of hard fought wins late in the season is another thing. If you want a prototype on how to build up the mental strength of a list look at this years premiers.
  8. It would be disappointing to lose an athletically gifted kpd on an upward trajectory. Depends on what comes back I suppose.
  9. Agree with all that. Another incredibly frustrating part of our game was our tendency to crowd the contest, both aerial and on the ground. That stems from panic and again a loss of confidence. Our whole game was compromised and each problem bled into the other. Skills are the easy thing to single out, but they are partly symptomatic of a host of other issues.
  10. @Deespencer touched on it. Kicking is a lot easier when you have targets that have worked into space that are confidently demanding the footy. I'm not saying that our skills weren't woeful, but to focus primarily on our kicking would be to oversimplify our general shittness which was complex, deep and varied. There is also the psychology behind it. Our loss of mojo leaked into all facets of our game.
  11. Trading Viney would be a stupid knee-jerk reaction that won't be considered. Get the midfield fit, get our inside dominance back and bring in players who can spread quickly and efficiently both offensively and defensively.
  12. Apparently very strong in the forearms.
  13. Gun player and exactly what we need. Would make us a far better side.
  14. Don't agree. There are things that stats can tell you and things they can't. Petracca is a player with a rare blend of strength and balance.
  15. I don't like Richardson. Democracy is taking it's last dying breaths. Won't matter anyway when the polar ice melts.
  16. I'm not a fan of Richo. I fear we are headed for more pain in the coming couple of years.... Just for something different. I think our footy dept struggle with both the tangible and psychological aspects of the game.
  17. Absolutely staggering selection. Wtf is going on?
  18. Big difference. One was 100 points. We are consistently doing down by less than 30ish. In a sense Goodwin is right. IE that we are not far away. A couple less turnovers and some slightly straighter kicking for goal per game in 2019 and we play finals. Unfortunately our inability to handle pressure sees us consistently short of placing ourselves in winning positions. And the rest of the comp knows it. Leadership and coaching.
  19. There is that but there is also the psychological capitulation after that. From a physical point of view we should have seen incremental improvement through these season. Unfortunately our coaches and leaders have been unable to get the collective psyche strong enough again to pull out a few wins. The constant turnovers are a result of that. I can accept that the list was not healthy enough to make this a premiership or even finals season. The concern is the failure to pull out a few character building, back against the wall wins from which to build into 2020....and maybe convince a few recruits that we are worth coming to.
  20. Maturing steadily. One of the reasons why there is still a lot to like about the list.
