  1. A lot of this is way off. But the easy ones. Scott Thompson spent at least a whole year in the reserves. Frawley took a few years to become consistent and was a whipping boy regularly getting smashed in one on ones and turning over the footy. Bate showed a fair bit early and looked like he would kick on. I liked him very much from the start. Pickett has some pretty clear and rare senior AFL attributes that we haven't had in a small forward for decades. That isn't enough on its own to see him make it but it's a start. I am sick to death of seeing other clubs blokes like Betts, Walters, Cameron, the Riolis and Ryan et al. When on these players have a blend of skill speed and agility that makes them impossible to match up on. They cause havoc for defences. They are the type of players that regular feature in finals and premierships. Pickett has these attributes along with a healthy streak of aggression. You are very wrong on your assessment of Pickett. One wonders why you would attempt rewrite history to manufacture an argument against a second year player who has already played senior footy and performed well? We have plenty on the list that have been there for longer and showed far less.
  2. Couple of things. I feel that Bowey must come in. Has attributes that we sorely need. Really like the look of him. Will make us better. I am a James Harmes fan but he is very slow to get a disposal away and doesn't have the tricks to get into space. In traffic he just gets caught too often. We were right to try him in a role other than the midfield last year. Might be struggling to be in the 22 if he can't find a role. Tmac looked to be moving much better. Has been running on train tracks for the last couple of years. Agility looked like it returned and if he can stay fit will be an important player again. Would have to be thinking about Petty for Tomlinson. It's a good list that should finish top four. Over to you coaches.
  3. Tigers look far more organised. Both Laurie and Bowery look classy
  4. He was a gifted player with limited commitment drafted to a terrible football club. All the best with the future Jack.
  5. I personally don't believe this is the case. He relies a lot on others to bring him into the game, and when our team defence is performing it tends to mask Gus' deficiencies in that area. He is a smart offensive footballer.
  6. Gus plays well when the team plays well.
  7. His body is letting him down. He has lost all agility with his constant foot problems.
  8. He was playing his role as a commentator. The role he is paid for. Eddie and a few others could take a leaf.
  9. i agree. Hard to take much from an interview but he just exuded maturity and belief.
  10. Neither does Ben Brown or Joe Daniher. Tom Lynch, Jeremy Cameron and Lance Franklin were slight but effective even before they grew into their bodies. Not too many young gorilla KPFs drafted over the last 20 years have been any good, they are at least the exception rather than the rule.
  11. If the club takes the same trajectory as the training threads the 2020 flag is ours.
  12. If you honestly believe that then kudos, you just made Demonland a better place.
  13. Progress? I believe that all should be free to discuss the pros and cons of a footballer on a football discussion site. I'm a bit of a radical.
  14. Also looking at young Patrick Fitzpocket
  15. Played quite a few games at Casey this year so Goodwin didn't always pick him. I like ANB. I like his work rate and his attitude. Needs to work on his decision making and disposal. This doesn't make him a bad person, or me a bad person for writing it.
  16. "Brown’s ability to push up the ground and provide an option for his teammates coming out of defence is often undersold, and it was a key part of Essendon’s victory." I would think that it is the absence of anyone on the list other than Tmac with the ability to play this role that gets Brown a spot on the list. This was a also a key deficiency in 2019 and one that was filled by Hogan (when fit) @DeeSpencer I think there is a real chance he plays round one.
  17. I'm not saying you don't have some valid points. But what likelihood is there that we could pick up a rookie to play the role of the skilled outside mid? Who else is out there?
  18. It's a rookie pick up. He will ensure our young kpfs earn games.. That's a good thing.
  19. I made a mmm.... Mmm.. There was a misunderstanding.
