More than likely we will have a few off days. Even top sides who go on to win premierships have ugly losses in the H and A. If we can sure up a top 4 spot it will be a good idea to rest some players (Max) and rotate some of the young players. Managing the list will be key.

We had a couple of poor quarters. We were due for a couple. We never really applied the chokehold either preferring to keep the game slow and grind it out. Job done.

We probably don't want him. He probably doesn't want to come.

Weather conditions and venue to play a role in selection this week. Also would not hurt to begin to "manage" a player or two if it was deemed in the team's interest.

Hyperbole. He is a passionate player, and he will always walk a line. I think he usually shows good restraint but he probably over stepped the mark in terms of the "humility" culture we are supposed to foster in that incident. Its a minor thing and it looks like Goody was having a good talk to him down on the bench. Most of the great players show passion, it's part of what drives them. It is almost a rite of passage for great players to go too far, then learn and become better. Its a minor adjustment for the developing young man.

Please Melbourne Football Club do not play too many talls just because we have a few good ones. While a W is always nice, an L won't kill us and may highlight some of our deficiencies in time to address them by the business end.

His forward craft is excellent. He is 19 years of age and 200cm.... and a latecomer to the game. He will play wherever he is needed on the park in time. With luck he will be a star of the game and hopefully a one club Melbourne legend.

Won a game we should have won against a hobbled Oppo. Also a couple of our loyal elders are going to struggle to get games. Against better opposition and with less luck they may cost us games. Fortunately our young players are travelling beautifully. We have maximum points but for mine the lid stays on. We still have a lot of work to do at selection and in the coaches box to become contenders this year. I feel that we are in about the 4th to 8th bracket.

Just too agile for his opponents. Would be a nightmare to play against. And it's not just his pressure acts that cause turnovers, it's his presence. At times in the last couple of years our inability to put pressure on the opposition rebound led to too many easy goals on transition. One of the reasons why we would win i50s but lose games. Pickett helps a lot with this. He is butthurt for opposition and a godsend for us.

Flying under the radar this kid. His development trajectory for a young tall is beautiful. Going to be a genuine star of the comp. I wondered if he was going to be more athlete than footballer.. his footy IQ is as good as any in our team. He knows how to play footy.

How can you have two of the premier young midfielders in the comp and go backwards in that area in 3 years? Because we keep making the same dumb mistakes. All players sucked into a tight contest nearly every single time. I am not potting the coach, but that is a coaching failure. It is just the reality. I can back it up with stats if you like? It's only one game but it's the same theme. Can't test it but I hypothesise that Freo would have been beaten by 14 other teams at the G today. They were awful.

Take the win. We are a poor club and we are again going nowhere. Poorly coached and poorly administered.
