Melbourne - premiership contenders?
I was enjoying the read until I got to the last line "Because Melbourne are coming, and in 2021, no one is safe in this premiership challenge." This just reminded me of the Carlton slogan "They know we're coming" or whatever it is.....what a letdown!

AFL & ASADA to share Essendon drug saga documents
Nice for a change that it's another club having an historical issue dragged back up through the preseason. If I had to go through another regurgitation of tanking it would do my head in.

Yeah agree - I can’t believe Sicily is better than May

TRAINING: Wednesday 3rd February 2021
Given they’re analysing Steven May manning the mark in the video, it’s not too far off topic (compared to other threads)

2021 Injury List
I feel like the mood of this thread is somewhat an impact of the club training in Timbuktoo. We used to have a lot more DL intel from Gosch's training sessions, providing multiple sources of substance to allow more informed opinions. Now MFCSS is running rampant.

2021 Injury List
I reckon Viney’s foot might be the bigger issue of the two. No intel, just surmising based on past experience

AFL Live Pass Discontinued
I subscribed to Kayo last year ADC and chrome casted from the app to the TV. Worked fine.

Review Finds Collingwood Guilty of Systemic Racism
“I’m proud of our club for having the courage, and our board for accepting the recommendations. It is a landmark day.” “I don't think there’s any shame or disappointment here ... this is a day of pride.” He's so proud that this is only being discussed publicly after the report was leaked a month after receipt by the board. Not exactly getting in front of the problem IMHO

Max Gawn on SEN (1/2/21)
And this was SEN's take on the interview.... https://www.sen.com.au/news/2021/01/31/thats-relatively-embarrassing-melbournes-focus-during-the-pre-season/ I'd hope over and above sorting out the midfield-forward line connection issues raised that they're also looking at the ruck-rover connection, which I feel has significant room for growth as well.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - FRASER ROSMAN
- Review Finds Collingwood Guilty of Systemic Racism
I hope our board gets a copy of this report somehow and measures our own overall performance against the identified failings.- AFLW: Rd 01 vs Gold Coast
I thought the girls looked a bit lethargic early on with the travel, but that 2nd and 3rd quarter was sensational and could be the difference between us making the finals or not. This was exactly the type of game we should have won in seasons 1-2 but we would drop & then missed finals narrowly. Great to hear the song again, and I teared up a bit with the three debutants in the middle of the circle. Love that they sing the song on the ground.- Minor Procedure For Viney (Foot)
As long as he’s right for finals...- TRAINING: Friday 29th January 2021
Thanks for braving the elements and for the writeup deespicable! Very much appreciated on what I'm sure was a day where it would be hard to see silky skills on display and your eyeballs would have needed windscreen wipers. On your point above, I reckon the coaches would have a couple of probable A Team candidates on the B Team to keep them hungry....- New Concussion Protocols
Agree with all of the above. 12 days minimum may see players miss two games esp. around Anzac day/eve games. It's such a hard injury to quantify that I'm not sure you can police it any other way. I agree with having a break the week after prelim on this basis, it would be soul destroying to have one or more of our best players miss a grand final because of this imposed break.- TRAINING: Wednesday 27th January 2021
Good lord- TRAINING: Wednesday 27th January 2021
Great training report from Stinga and most importantly reminded me of my first man crush. Gees Tingay was good. time to find a highlights reel.- 2021 Leadership Group
There are a lot of good suggestions above as to who should be in the leadership group based on their performances last year. This, despite the fact there was only a Captain, Vice Captain in formal roles. On this basis, I don't see the need to "recognise" a larger leadership group as clearly the names listed above see themselves as leaders anyway (and I'm sure the feedback they receive inside the club affirms their actions).- Jordan Lewis’s views on Kossie
He's a 19 yo kid who has had one very different season as an introduction to an AFL career. He's still learning habits that will shape his professionalism to elite. Personally I'm much more worried about Aaron Nietschke's knees than Kossie, who has a massive ceiling and I'm sure will be an absolute gun in a year or two if he learns and adopts good habits.- List prediction 2022
I understand this thread is a future source of reference for the hindsight police, but I’m not writing off players before the season has even begun. Especially the younger ones that should be encouraged.- TRAINING: Friday 15th January 2021
I’d agree with you TPF as the quality of his intercept marking in defence was exceptional before he moved to the fwd line - however I still have nightmares about his subsequent field kicking from defence so I’m on the fence.- Off-season outlook: Pressure will be on Melbourne and Simon Goodwin
