Both the Essendon backline and forwardline are not particularly tall - two talls and 1 medium in the forwardline and 2 talls in the backline. On this basis, I don't think we need to make any structural composition changes to better match up. I think Hibbo is a better matchup on Stringer than Smith, if his ankle is right. Additionally I'd like to see Lockhart to Tipungwuti for Nev. Who is our backup for Lockhart if Tipungwuti gets off the leash? I'd also like to see Hunt go for a run up the ground like Mitch Brown did on Saturday, who was awesome. (I expect this from Ed Langdon every week now).

Not sure how the fixturing would work If the Grand Final remains in the last Saturday of September (25/09/2021) and games revert to weekly, with the 4 weeks of finals, 1 week off for Festival of Football and 28 home and away rounds the season kicks off on 6 February. Aren't grounds still being used for cricket then?

I’m still mulling over the comment on another thread where somebody on here was rubbishing Lyon as a potential coach because he suggested TMac at CHB as an option. Hes certainly an upgrade on his brother or JSmith IMO. If he can’t get a look in the forward line, maybe having him, May and Lever as the three talls isn’t a bad idea.

Whilst I appreciate that their aging list is a couple of years further on since he left Hawthorn, my view is that Clarko was made to look better by Chris Fagan quietly keeping things in order in the background. I think they've been missing this since he left.

Completely agree! I also rate the Jack Watts sealer in the QB game, I had the whole southern stand behind us erupt. But 60K+ dees fans at a final all giving it heaps is hard to beat.

Looking at Jones despondent on the bench after his injury, I was more angry than sympathetic that he played at all given his quad injury a couple of weeks back. I hope it was all above board and thoroughly tested before picking him, rather than taking his word for it and then him playing dodgy in the hope of making 300 games (a la Viney a couple of years back).

Everyone in QLD has been shaking their heads at Melbourne for a couple of months now. At least now it's Melbourne the footy club that is the focus of derision rather than the rest of us.

Thanks for passing this on DJ. I was hopeful we'd do this, worked well for the 4 day break in Adelaide for the Crows/Roos games. Hopefully we take several extras for the second game to rotate out some tired legs.
