  1. I liked this article based on a chat with Steven May on SEN yesterday. Nice to have a coach demanding excellence and driving standards.... https://www.sen.com.au/news/2021/03/23/how-choco-williams-is-demanding-perfection-at-melbourne/
  2. Iโ€™ll have what heโ€™s having
  3. I'm intrigued with how the AFL will navigate the issuing of sanctions on actual vs potential damage going forward. The commentary on this site with respect to previous sanctions based on potential have in part contributed to the AFL determining sanction based on outcome, as evidenced by both the Dangerfield and Kiara Bowers findings. But in doing this, the AFL are not providing guidance on how they'd like to see duty of care in stopping your opponent applied. They are leaving this to the clubs, and providing guidance after the damage has been inflicted. This approach must leave the AFL wide open for future lawsuits. I'm not sure that providing a future fund for players dealing with concussion is going to cut it. But by providing sanctions based on the potential to cause damage, the AFL are potentially killing their sport with players and fans disillusioned with tribunal findings based on opinion and no evidence. It's a real dilemma.
  4. Given Kade Chandler played a game in 2019, we can't congratulate him on his AFL debut as a medical sub without actually hitting the field; but I'd guess that dubious distinction will come up shortly.
  5. Harmes out for 6 weeks with a broken wrist. Looks like Viney for Harmes in reading this article. I like the noises around senior players having to earn their spot... https://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/melbournes-james-harmes-will-miss-six-weeks-after-breaking-his-wrist-but-jack-viney-should-return/news-story/e2f44120ae1dc239d05ef5b4315e55ff
  6. Iโ€™d have to agree with Salemโ€™s slippage in the rankings from 2019 as shown above. Too many 10m chipped kicks these days for my liking.
  7. Not sure what the prognosis is, but Goldy. Is. Irreplaceable. Hope she mends quickly.
  8. Theyโ€™ll definitely be giving Alexa a crack next time
  9. Fair result. Thereโ€™s a chance Kelly will miss 2 games given theyโ€™ve got a 13 day window for rounds 2-3. Wouldnโ€™t be fair in my view that the perpetrator sits out the same length of time.
  10. Give him the Bentleigh Club and move on....
  11. I was impressed with his attitude when he got pinged for HTB in the last qtr. Had a smile, gave his opponent a well done pat and went back to vigorously defend. Showed heโ€™s really enjoying his footy and his head is in a really good space (IMO). Well done to the club on the Hogan/May trade. Weโ€™ve got a ripper.
  12. Thatโ€™s exactly what the AFL want that guy thinking before he acts
  13. They canโ€™t let their little darling off a week after changing the concussion rules to protect players because theyโ€™re concerned about player welfare. Remember that May got a week for a bump and he wasnโ€™t even moving. He has to get scrubbed.
  14. Iโ€™m feeling somewhat responsible for the close result as I started watching halfway through the 3rd quarter when Freo started their run. Apologies to all. Super effort to hang on in the heat and away from home. The umpires were TERRIBLE. Thereโ€™s no explanation for that free to Freo in their i50 in the last 30 seconds, and the with 11secs to go the umpire doesnโ€™t call time back on for the ball up in the Freo attacking goal square. Itโ€™s a hard game to umpire for all the interpretation, but that was a joke. And lastly the Melbourne runner that gave away 50 metres for interference should be exiled forever. Great fighting win girls, you all did the jumper proud.
  15. I reckon the club should get a please clarify from the umpires dept on the Hunt in the back free that gave Freo a goal and the Salem dangerous tackle free (both in the first half). I thought neither were there (potentially biased)
  16. That pack mark was an absolute ripper Hopefully a few more of those and all the naysayers who reckon he was too expensive at pick 3 will shut up
  17. Sparrow is going to be a very good player for us. Lay off him.
  18. The big difference Daz is theyโ€™ve dropped Viney. He was just about walking by the end of the R1 2019 game off no preseason.
  19. Love to see Kossy play out of the middle and then follow up his i50 entry with his pace to pick up a crumbing goal or two
  20. Hope Clarry plays a blinder on his 100th Best of luck for a great game and find career to Jimmy Jordon - definitely due some good luck And for all the naysayers that say that Jetta is too slow - show them how itโ€™s done you bloody legend
  21. Why do some members get New Balance 40% off offers and others donโ€™t get the email. Why do some members get a thanks for hanging with us last year badge with their 2021 membership and others donโ€™t. I understand this club is probably understaffed but the two above examples just show ineptitude, inconsistency and a lack of regard for the members.
  22. And if the dockers get up the headline will be The Meek inherits Perth
  23. Interview is online on the SEN website. Towards the bottom of the list.... https://player.whooshkaa.com/player/playlist/show/1919?visual=true&sharing=true&episode=803048
  24. On SEN daisy theyre saying the bag needs to be A4 size, whatever that means.
  25. Bloody shame. If we had something as magic as Demonwiki for the whole of the history of the VFL, I reckon Iโ€™d just about retire now and spend my days reading old reports
