  1. I'd rather the media start providing balanced analysis of who we should be trading in vs trading out in order to make us better. Trade bait articles without balance are just fluff.
  2. Special shout out to Langdon for attempting not 1 but 2 handball receives from out of bounds on the wing. Thoroughly entertaining, havenโ€™t laughed that heartily on a football related action in a long time. Loving him in the side.
  3. Lyon reminds me of a parent coaching his sons team and being much harder on his son than everyone else (over compensating) I think he was also mindful last night that there is a lot more Collingwood supporters watching than dees supporters, and was trying to hose down how bad they were to minimise negative feedback
  4. Hopefully somebody got on us for a 40+ point win for $14 odds with Sportsbet.
  5. I didn't think he was at his worst, but there were a couple of turnovers that didn't help - the no look handpass to Grundy for the goal wasn't great but nor did he drop his head either. Our backline is just looking really solid right now.
  6. And kicking 16 goals 4 in the wet is normally something we're on the receiving end of.....great composure.
  7. What a difference it makes having Weid in the forward 50 clunking marks.
  8. I'm going to need a covid test tomorrow for the sore throat symptoms. That was ace. I'm going to watch the replay for kozzies kick out of mid air in the first that went 60+m, Melksham's kick out of the air in the 2nd for a goal. Langdon was an absolute ripper. But gees we did miss Max, didn't we?
  9. I'm guessing he was factoring in 2 mins to take off his socks
  10. Thks for this Adam, ripper video loved the tackle on J Cameron, and who could forget the goal to win vs dons. Hopefully he has a blinder for his milestone game
  11. Thatโ€™s what I call a good leading pattern
  12. We havenโ€™t had a 4 quarter effort all year Good day to start
  13. Agreed. Nev quite rightly is highly respected on here and by the club, and has designed another ripper of a jumper for our mob. Itโ€™s great the names of the indigenous boys that have played for us is recognised, Iโ€™d also love it if the club could publish a translation of whatโ€™s written on the front.
  14. Not a bad fixture overall for us to finish, good 6-7 day breaks against tougher opponents and not a ridiculous amount of travel with short turnarounds between games and no obvious difference in the break between rounds for our opponents): Collingwood - Gabba - Sat evening off a 6 day break (Coll 4 day break) Doggies - Metricon - Sat afternoon, 7 day break (Doggies 6 day break) St Kilda - Alice Springs - Sat evening, 7 day break (Saints 6 day break) Sydney - Cairns - Thursday twilight, 5 day break (Swans 5 day break) Freo - Cairns - Monday evening, 4 day break (Dockers 5 day break) GWS - Gabba - Saturday, 5 day break (GWS 4 day break) Ess - TBC (Essendon play rnd 17 game in SA on same day as us in Qld)
  15. He's a ripper. VERY happy with this.
  16. Iโ€™m certainly keeping my width with my COVID diet.
  17. I think Bennell, Spargo and Kossie are vying for 2 positions - all three warrant a spot but I don't think we can fit them in, and it's not at the expense of Hannan IMV. I'll leave this one to the professionals. TMac unfortunately makes way for Maxy. If Jackson needs a rest, then TMac takes his role - but only if. Viney for Harmes, for me, who isn't having his best year. Agree with the negative commentary on AVB, who has been a bit undisciplined, however I'd keep him in against the pies and fine him for every brain fart. I'm loving how the backline is gelling at the moment, as does my boy. No changes down back please. Sorry Lockhart, yes you're having a good year but I think we need to let Rivers run (pun intended). I reckon they'll have him back in though, reading between the lines of Goody's presser.
  18. I wonder if not knowing who your opponent is in 2-3 weeks time is causing planning issues for football departments.
  19. I'm a fan of the quarters won stat https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_ladder?year=2020&pt=PD&st=Q1&sb=p According to Footywire, we are 15th of the 18 teams for first quarters won (3-6-1, 83%), 8th for 2nd quarters (6-4, 107.9%), 17th for 3rd quarters (3-7, 81.3%) and 1st for last quarters (8-2, 196.3%). We really need to work out how to come out firing from the first bounce. These stats show we seem to work our way into games and then the half time break destroys our momentum. I'd put the exceptional last quarter performance down to great fitness relative to the opponent. Sure a couple of easy scalps helps the percentage, but an 8-2 record is no fluke. Four quarter effort on Saturday pls.
  20. Always think of his torps fondly There was a ripper on the Anzac Day eve game vs Richmond in the rain (2015?), City End. Just about hit the centre circle. I wondered before that kick why he was intently checking the ball pressure. Worth getting wet to watch.
  21. Just watched the replay of the Hawthorn game Another great example of terrific leading, which has in turn improved the quality of delivery inside 50, and he marks more than he brings to ground. Happy overall heโ€™s getting more shots at goal
  22. Rather he wins a Norm Smith than a Brownlow....
  23. Luke Jackson's work below his knees and speed of dishing out handballs - to advantage - is unparalleled in my opinion for an 18yo of his size.
  24. Someone needs to have a word with the Fox commentators to even up the chat around what's a free kick. Seemed very biased towards North in commentating on the dubious free kicks (despite the fact they were handsomely winning the free kick count). Even needed to pan to Byron shaking his head in the stands for the commentators to then point out that Kozzie was a bit unlucky. FFS.
