  1. It wouldn’t surprise me if the AFL gave a chat to the umpires dept this week and request the umpires to call play on more often for the cats 8-15m chipped kicks, which would both open up the game and shut down their system somewhat (and favour the Suns as well)
  2. Getting back to Charlie Cameron, I wouldn't trust the reason anybody puts forward publicly for leaving Adelaide. He may well have wanted a trade "home" to Brisbane, but looking at the [censored] show that is Adelaide, and the way they hung Lever out to dry, you're always going to float a reason that is least likely to rile those in Adelaide when you're at the departure lounge. So I wouldn't automatcally assume he's not gettable. That said, I'd rather we put the money into a KPF however.
  3. Perfect question for Glen Bartlett on Wednesday DL.
  4. Chandler's goal was a cracker and loved Bennell's last two goals. Reward for effort for the last one, following the ball into the 50 and sprinting to the goal square.
  5. I'd swear I was reading the three word analysis from last year's game where we lost by 80 pts.
  6. I'm in two minds with Lockhart - yes I was screaming at the TV when he took forever to get rid of it and was pinged twice for HTB. On the flip side, I thought Joel Smith was heaps better this week with another run when many were calling for his head after last week. That said, if I was Goody I'd drop Lockhart for having a laugh about it with the opposition. That was just not on. Vanders will be better for the run. I didn't think HIbbo and Rivers would do well in the same backline, as I see them as the same type of player; but I was pleasantly surprised. I reckon we need a second tall KPF at Sydney, and recall Preuss did well in that role last time up there (but is obviously not available). Hopefully Tom Mac clunking that mark and goaling in the last qtr will give him some belief. He tried his guts out all day. In: Bennell, Weid Out: Lockhart, Somebody.
  7. I don’t know how many times I yelled out “that’s not 15” for all the 8m kicks by the cats, but I’m still apologising to my dog who thinks I’ve got mental health issues.
  8. Looking forward to some inspired commentary later on Ox.....
  9. I agree with the OP sentiment - we need to keep the trolls + social media platforms accountable. Ongoing education + holding the line will hopefully diminish trolls over time. I'd like to see SM platforms take a lead on accountability - or adversely businesses refusing to advertise on their platforms as money speaks louder than words.
  10. It would be interesting if two Victorian teams made the Grand Final, and would either (a) not be allowed into WA at all or (b) have to quarantine for two weeks before playing the grannie.

  12. We're playing Geelong though, OD.
  13. PLAN ? Given it would appear the season will derail in the next 4-8 weeks, at that point we start again with all teams in a hub for two weeks, play AFL X style games on a round robin basis, declare a premier and give them a plastic trophy? At least you'd have a level playing field, with a justified winner; even if it would be crappy to watch. And we've got runs on the board already....
  14. I'd suggest most people walking around outside aren't spitting and blowing snot out of their noses, tackling sweaty teammates like McKenna was in the TV vision over the weekend. On this basis, I don't think you can apply normal rules BM
  15. Good to see Bennell got through another week and Vanders didn’t break his foot for a change.
  16. is that so you can kill two birds with one stone SWYL and watch the dees while you're up at the snow?
  17. When I grew up in the 80s watching the VFL, I couldn't tell you who a single club president was. They should be like children - not seen and not heard. Some would say they are like children.
  18. I actually thought it was the Australian Football League. Didn't know Fyfe owned it. Maybe it should be called the FFL.
  19. We could offer them good insurance rates on that cheap furniture....
  20. Exactly my point and much better articulated, thanks BM
  21. Hi Adam, I've missed your insights. Welcome back (if you've been gone). You can add May flying for a mark at D50 (in the 2nd?) and leaving a big hole behind him. For all of his leadership qualities, and holding his teammates to account, this was ordinary.
  22. I'd like to see us try three tall forwards in the next game - with 2x ground level support for each of the three talls. Something like the below diagram.
  23. We won't win another game for the year, so they were getting as much mileage out of that win as possible.
  24. What a first quarter after 10? weeks off. Loved Tomlinson’s Joe the goose kick to Hunt For a goal. Rivers an absolute gem, looked like he’s already played 50 games. Jackson worked himself into the game nicely and Bennell pokes really composed with the ball and most importantly got through unscathed. If the coaching group can’t work out how to wrestle the game back into our terms when we owned it for the first 1.5 quarters though, we’ve got an issue.
  25. Love it. Built like a brick outhouse, lucky it didn't pull the fence down when they ran through it.
