  1. You can all thank me for the result. I was out for the first half and turned on the tv a couple of minutes into the third qtr. I thought we looked pretty good (from that point obviously) in an ugly game. Umpiring was awful. Seemed like every time the ball stopped there had to be a free kick. And some of those "not 15" decisions were just bizarre. Absolutely gutted for Tomlinson.
  2. Reviewing the OP, I'm not sure why the WA Premier is interested in the comparison between Rance and Lever. \ Unless he's trying to poach him for one of the WA teams...
  3. As annoying as BT can often be, he absolutely nails this commentary.
  4. How much mileage would we get out of a thread where we re-post our historical (extremely) wide of the mark opinions on players? There's a couple of crackers here.
  5. I only got to watch the first half after basketball training last night, but loved Bradtke's centre bounce (double) tap in the ruck to Tom Sparrow who put the ball down Weid's throat in the first for a goal (nice flat kick to Sam's advantage out of the guts). Great ruckwork craft from Bradtke, first I've really seen of him in anger and liked it. Rosman's left foot snap across his body in the 2nd was also really classy. I liked how he's coming along as well. I reckon Casey listed Ryan Sparkes has got a bit to offer too. As with most of the boys, backed up a good performance last week with another strong showing. Sad to see how far Dom Tyson has fallen. I loved him in his early days with us.
  6. With these Friday night games, I'm not sure what I'm going to do now at 3:20 on a Sunday in Rounds 11 and 12.
  7. I reckon our best 3 pronged attack was Mueller, Baggott and Norm Smith in 1939. Won us a flag. Good enough for me.
  8. Count how many possessions Spargs got from these highlights. I make it 1 kick. Maybe it's just me, but I'm happy if he does this all day for 1 kick.
  9. So your quality control on spelling is not limited to playerโ€™s names then!
  10. I reckon this post typifies our selection criteria at the moment. Do we want players that accumulate stats or players that make it harder for the opposition and by extension create opportunities? We've clearly got the balance pretty good at the moment, and it seems to be that players that have low stats in any given week seem to make up for it the next week (where somebody else then takes that focus). I'd be happy with 0 disposals (although not checking the stats) if he applied significant tackles inside forward 50 and turned over the ball, creating the opportunities for others to kick a bag. Clearly if any player is doing neither, they will be dropped. It will be interesting to see if Melksham and Jones take the team first mantra into the 2's if they do line up for Casey.
  11. On SEN this morning they indicated that having both Jones and Melksham named wasn't a guarantee they were playing (even though Jones was named on the field in the squad). Apparently the side is formally set around 3pm this arvo.
  12. He was a reason to go to the footy when we werenโ€™t winning to see another mark of the year contender. He also said some nice words ahead of Chunkโ€™s 300th last week, so Iโ€™m not sure heโ€™s a complete dh. But now weโ€™re winning. He wonโ€™t make us a better team, nor does he have the pressure attributes IMO. Absolutely a no from me.
  13. I'm expecting @demonstone to pop up more than once in this thread. Great news.
  14. At least you won't hear the bloke sniffing loudly on Fox I wouldn't have thought.
  15. Did you also know we'd be 6 and zip and keep that to yourself as well?
  16. Roosy must feel like his job is done now
  17. Whately is 300, Robbo is 60 show = 360
  18. Just like riding a bike with a massive tail wind atm.
  19. OUT: Tasmania IN: Marvel. We've got the rolls royce collection of deck chairs, I'm sure the selection committee will get it right no matter what they do.
  20. I was watching some post game analysis on AFL.com.au, and couldn't help but stare at the graphic Gees that cup looks good.
  21. I havenโ€™t waxed my skis for the last 3* years. * would have last year if not for covid
  22. We were in the top deck above Punt Rd goals. When coming down the stairwell on the way out, about 2000 people in the stairwell spontaneously erupted into the Grand Old Flag song. It was joyous and awesome
  23. 31 scoring shots to 12 tells a story
