  1. Only if we were playing Carlton. All other clubs don't [censored] on the medical reports
  2. A couple of questions going through my head: Are the hawks playing for a priority pick? Paul Roos the Hawthorn coach for 2018?
  3. That's really bringing yourself down to a Freo supporter level, especially if you bludgeon a female. Not worth the lifetime ban, especially since we're on the cusp of finals. id have been much happier with a lifetime ban in 2013.
  4. Are you the Riddler? If so, I'm still [censored] off at the draft riddle that didn't have an answer.
  5. Wouldn't sweat being wrong on a developing player DD. What I'm REALLY looking forward to is the day that Oscar has a breakout game and all the detractors (myself included) are proved wrong on him. Primarily because filling this gap is key to our premiership aspirations. Probably side swiping this thread somewhat. Apologies to mods and to Hunty (go you good thing).
  6. This thread further emphasises we've got a footy department that are on the money with talent identification and nurturing. #raisedwell
  7. My boy and I went along last night. A few things I came away from the game with: 1 - hindsight is great when it comes to team selections, I was happy with the lineup going into the game. Clearly losing Max completely altered the fwd line structure with our experienced tall then going into the ruck (magnificent effort, Watts, take a bow). Hard for the other two fwd talls with less than 10 games between them to absorb the extra load. 2 - I thought our midfield pressure was terrific all night 3 - the smug Geelong supporters sitting behind us won't be smug for long, they have far too many passengers and are not going to win it this year with efforts like that 4 - even with a relatively inexperienced fwd line with Watts in the ruck, we still looked dangerous with multiple avenues to goal. Nothing more to be said on scoring accuracy. 5 - I remember sitting at the punt rd end in 2014 QB clash when we kicked 3 for the game. Last night was a completely different type of frustration. We are not far away now 6 - as much as I don't rate Oscar, we need to get another 30 games into him as quickly as possible. Our premiership window is cracking open. i can't think of another time when I walked away as happy with a loss.
  8. I would normally go with BULL..sh.t.
  9. Really excited about this game, happily will be sitting adjacent to the cheer squad with my boy, flying our flag i reckon if our best 4 play like they did last week, and our quietest 4 lift (Melksham, Viney, Hannan, ANB) we'll do this (semi) comfortably. MFCSS can eff off
  10. He must have been sitting behind me st the footy last Sunday. I was whinging to my Carlton supporting mate that it is impossible to explain the rules to a foreigner with all the umpire interpretation nuances to most of the rules. it leaves the game open to umpires being targeted to take a bribe to throw a game result. The only reason we don't see more from this is we naively put lopsided free kick counts down to home crowd interference; and we also see the AFL as generally too incompetent. we need as many black and white rules as possible (eg out on the full, free kick)
  11. Tell them it was expected - we're 4th on the ladder and they are 7th. #nothingtoseehere
  12. Have to agree with you LDVC - I'm not sure that bully works as well!
  13. When Tim kicks his first goal, I'd like the crowd to yell BULL .... YES!!!
  14. Looking at it from another angle Nash, could it be argued that Silvagni was impeding the ruckman from getting to the contest? #long bow
  15. No need to go poking bears...
  16. You'd reckon they would spring it on him like they did with Hannan and J Smith in a one on one meeting with a camera on him for the website. Watch this space, I reckon he's in.
  17. I dunno about that dc we beat the filth twice at the G last year (any opportunity to bring this up again in non related threads much appreciated, thanks)
  18. start queuing for finals tickets.
  19. Good pickup DubDee - 2 weeks ago Vanders was "426" (groan) and a week later 6 and now 6-8 weeks. Going downhill rapidly. Hibbo seems to be coming good, slowly. Bad luck Patty McKenna, glad to hear it didn't require surgery. Looking forward to seeing you on the park.
  20. I don't mind the way the points are established. Yes - contact was intentional. Yes - contact was high. Impact is the questionable factor only. If both players have zero time off the ground, and play the next week; then I fail to see how the impact is "medium" rather than "low" or even negligible. And this is what is driving the 3 week ban.
  21. And I don't think he should, this week btw.
  22. Nice Pro Dee You forgot one - Should Oscar be dropped this week?
  23. There's a certain irony to the points system trying to remove ambiguity, but at the same time have sufficient flexibility around grading to allow for variations on similar incidents. My memories of the 80's system was that there were still the same inconsistencies, even without the demerit points - and if it looked really bad, you could get anywhere from 3-8 weeks. Yep, the current system isn't right, but that said I don't have a solution on how to fix it.
  24. Exactly. If Rowe plays this week, I don't know how you could deem the incident "medium" impact - if he plays this week, there was no impact to his minutes on the field at all.
  25. I'm aligned with all who question the severity of the hit given the lack of immediate medical oversight, and symptoms surfacing in the rooms afterwards. i wonder if Rowe drove home from the ground, or whether his doctors advised him against it given his "condition"
