  1. Except Norf. Perhaps that will be the punchline on Monday "nobody beats the demons 16 times in a row either"
  2. This. The Mac brothers can't win here - TMac mercilessly pulled apart on DL for his turnovers (including by myself occasionally, I must add) and OMac still learning his craft on bigger bodies. The amount of posts I've read suggesting TMac should just handpass to Hibbo/Lewis for better quality disposals from D50 and focus on intercept marking..... I was really pleased with OMac's efforts at the game on the weekend, he's really coming along which we need as a footy club if we're to be a serious premiership threat in the next couple of years. He is becoming much calmer with ball in hand, and not so much a deer in the headlights, which this stat seems to back up.
  3. We've played roughly half the teams in the competition now and there aren't any I'm worried about based on our/their performances. We just need to win enough games to get into the 8 come finals time, from there we'll be right I reckon. The 3x 6 day breaks might be a factor in this, rather than the quality of teams we play.
  4. This is why I'm delighted we have the 4 flags experienced Lewis to keep us level and focussed. We are just getting better and better. time to rip a team apart. I reckon this week would be good.
  5. I reckon we learn more in the long run through where we sit now. We will get even better much more quickly through experiencing what happens when we bring substantially less than 120 minutes each week.
  6. And what you won't see was his great mark on the 3QT siren 1 on 2 - great use of the body and positioning. Unfortunately missed the shot, but really damaging and super hard to match up on. Absolutely loving his effort, pressure and intent. He's clearly enjoying his footy at the moment, giving a bit of lip to the oppo fwds. Again I'd like to thank Malthouse for giving him to us for free. Gold.
  7. Sure was Ox. i took the view early that we were probably going to lose, so I'd celebrate our achievements loudly. Kept it up all night, my personal favourite was when I yelled out "PERCENTAGE BOOSTER" whilst laughing when Kenty kicked the last goal. It was like 45,000 people leaving a funeral. I loved every bit of it!
  8. I was sitting right behind that one Ethan Worth the $1500 for airfares, hotel and the scotch to celebrate afterwards. I love that boy.
  9. I thought Hannan had a pretty good game tonight es well. Did some nice things. Oscar got caught out on Josh Jenkins a couple of times, apart from that a great team effort and Googy had a cracker as well.
  10. No changes next week my wife and fam came with me and my boy tonight. Wife and daughter were 50/50 going back to the hotel at half time, but didnt. She's stoked she didn't, and sang the song louder than all of us. im so proud in South Australia...
  11. Like the team this week. Even down to giving the two SA boys in Stretch and ANB a trip home to see the folks. Holistically looking after the team where possible (and I'd be happy if either had to come in). Good stuff Goody.
  12. Who knows, Ox, maybe this is the weekend my 11yo boy will give up on Hoges and take up bundy and coke instead...
  13. I've tipped us every week and I'm not about to stop now. that said, this strategy is more in hope as I'm flying the family over to watch the game. Don't want my $1500 for flights, accomm, tickets and large alcohol bill to be to see our worst showing for the year. GO dees (preferably from the first bounce this weekend, please).
  14. But T Mac more often than not kicks it to the opposition. Doesn't this mean "to the advantage of your opponent"?
  15. Maybe the guy who wrote the letter to Goodwin and cut up his membership should have read this first. excellent article. The lift is going up at the moment, get ready for the rarified air!
  16. Yep - I've got two deemented. One good one, one bad one (Geelong supporter, you try to raise them right...)
  17. I'm taking my family to Adelaide this weekend to watch the game. if we win, I will be very quietly singing the song and looking for reinforcements
  18. What I get really peeved with is the club statement "we're preparing for their best" Not 100% sure we did that, and therefore what the eff that means. Singling out anybody after that first half is bu!![censored].
  19. On the golf course me and my mates still call out 5-eye when writing down our scores. RIP Louie.
  20. I understand the desire for a big KPF a la Neiter to kick a bag every week, but I'm less fussed at the monent given our average scores for the year - we're doing pretty well offensively (120, 86, 97, 75, 112, 91). Average 83 points a game, 3 of which without Hoges who is scoring ~ 3 per game. Not far off...
  21. My tipping is absolute rubbish. did pick the doggies at least.
  22. I reckon this is typical AFL tinkering. They'll change it, the players will become even more stuffed with the reduction in stoppages. I do think they need to do something about the deliberate oob, but I have no problem with boundary throw ins and like the uniqueness of this in our game.
  23. That video is just another reason why I love the dees. cant see something like that ever coming from the pies.
  24. I guess for us to win a flag VP that we need solid depth ~ 30 across the season. Whilst I'm frustrated some weeks that we've got project players on the park in OMac, Weid etc. a little under done on a game to game basis, I think this selection strategy puts us in a much stronger position for our premiership window over the next 5 years. We need to do this as we don't have the pulling power of Hawthorn to fill the talent gaps, but the better we get I suspect the luckier we will become in this regard as well.
  25. So with all that data Vogon, and experienced eyes, they should come to conclusions quicker than us. So when Sam Frost was persisted with in the forward line last year when he couldn't hit the side of a shopping centre with his kicks for goal, where did the system fail? The FD were about half a season behind DL on this one...
