  1. Bigger discovery story than Liam Jones moving to the backline. He just looks so poised. Coaching masterstroke. When Weideman earns his future place in the forward line, he (and we) will be very very good indeed.
  2. A few factors influencing team selection this week IMO: - Darwin will have a bit more humidity, shouldn't go too tall - I believe we were flat against the Swans due to both 4 games in 18 days coupled with the trip home from Perth. I think we need to think selection over a two week block and bring some fresh legs in against Port in a fortnight. Perhaps give Watts another week if he's NQR. - we won't get better if our fringe players don't get a fair crack at AFL level. Oscar is now showing the fruits of perseverance, despite the fact DL continuously dropped him and the FD showed faith. That said, I think Stretch has had a fair run. only 1 change for me this week - Tyson in for Stretch. Watts and Salem fresh legs for Port next week (and Viney as well, knowing him).
  3. I'm not sure a hash cake would help his cause deebug
  4. Slap the muppet supporter with the same fine. that sends a message.
  5. Every time T Mac kicks for goal I have to watch through my fingers (remembering some of his kicking from the backline). he just doesn't miss. 18-4 for the year is simply outstanding. keep it up! #pluggermacrocks
  6. Pedo didnt set the world on fire in the backline. I wanted to clone TMac so we could have one at both ends. welcome back Hoges.
  7. Can't believe the blues let Lewis sit unguarded at the end. Costly error. Agree with pat on the back to Nibbler for running down the clock. Poised. Nice.
  8. If Johannisen played for us, this would go to the tribunal and JJ would be denigrated for falling over after making slight head high contact with a padded surface. Walker would then receive an apology for any stress caused by putting him through the unwarranted attention.
  9. Does this table now prove that we are now one of the big 4 clubs in Melbourne?
  10. In past years, I'd have thought big games like QB and Anzac Day Eve might have skewed the numbers with large amounts of away supporters artificially inflating these sorts of figures, but the roar when Wattsy kicked that last goal on QB showed me that this is no longer the case. Me and my boy have actually been to more away games this year than home games.
  11. I am reminded of Carey playing for Adelaide vs Kangaroos where he was [censored] scared of Glenn Archer pretending to hit him. #psych_them_out
  12. I can see why VIC police decided to deal with this directly rather than take it to the AFL tribunal.
  13. I'm hoping O Mac can continue to have career best games. We need to have flexibility between the fwd line and midfield which relies on the key pillars in the backline holding their own or winning the day. He's looking more and more assured. This confidence comes from the patience of giving continued games to fringe players. (Stick with Wags as well Goody)
  14. I spent all of 2013 wishing we could play against the two's.
  15. If we win tonight, that's good enough evidence for me. I'm in.
  16. I hate to be a smartarse Steve, but if the Dees were playing Casey, then of course the Demons would win.
  17. Even an elbow to the chin is play on these days DubDee!
  18. I'm of a similar view Ernest, but the glass half full approach is that we're not substantially weaker than the team last week. Remember, Jeffy was jogging around the i50, and Salem was on the pine for a fair stretch. I like the ins, they'll crack in hard. ive picked the swans, just, but I give us a red hot crack at this one. I reckon the 3rd 6day break might just be a bridge too far. ill most happily be proved wrong.
  19. Happy B'day Ditcha - hope the boys sing you a nice loud song for your birthday.
  20. I thought the line was "I want a goat in America"
  21. Interesting article in the Hun, covering who will finish in the eight: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/more-news/the-run-home-gilbert-gardiner-predicts-every-clubs-finish-to-the-afl-season/news-story/ee08ebd91b7aa8e5b189af09c7e3573b "Is Friday night a mini Grand Final preview? It’s not beyond the realms of possibility because the Swans — like Melbourne — believe they’re good enough to go deep in September. With finals all but assured, the Dees are a sneaky 37 per cent chance for the top four, according to Champion Data. Need to beat North Melbourne in Hobart and St Kilda at the MCG to stay in the hunt for a double chance."
  22. He might never play again (and still get a jolly good flogging)
  23. Interesting article in the Australian: "A Melbourne victory over Sydney on Friday night at the MCG will equal an AFL record of four consecutive wins in 18 days, previously achieved only once in the history of the game." http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-demons-on-track-to-equal-cats/news-story/4a256d3461ab386d3fb82f264e07bde8
