  1. I hate to be a smartarse Steve, but if the Dees were playing Casey, then of course the Demons would win.
  2. Even an elbow to the chin is play on these days DubDee!
  3. I'm of a similar view Ernest, but the glass half full approach is that we're not substantially weaker than the team last week. Remember, Jeffy was jogging around the i50, and Salem was on the pine for a fair stretch. I like the ins, they'll crack in hard. ive picked the swans, just, but I give us a red hot crack at this one. I reckon the 3rd 6day break might just be a bridge too far. ill most happily be proved wrong.
  4. Happy B'day Ditcha - hope the boys sing you a nice loud song for your birthday.
  5. I thought the line was "I want a goat in America"
  6. Interesting article in the Hun, covering who will finish in the eight: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/more-news/the-run-home-gilbert-gardiner-predicts-every-clubs-finish-to-the-afl-season/news-story/ee08ebd91b7aa8e5b189af09c7e3573b "Is Friday night a mini Grand Final preview? It’s not beyond the realms of possibility because the Swans — like Melbourne — believe they’re good enough to go deep in September. With finals all but assured, the Dees are a sneaky 37 per cent chance for the top four, according to Champion Data. Need to beat North Melbourne in Hobart and St Kilda at the MCG to stay in the hunt for a double chance."
  7. He might never play again (and still get a jolly good flogging)
  8. Interesting article in the Australian: "A Melbourne victory over Sydney on Friday night at the MCG will equal an AFL record of four consecutive wins in 18 days, previously achieved only once in the history of the game." http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-demons-on-track-to-equal-cats/news-story/4a256d3461ab386d3fb82f264e07bde8
  9. Agree, it appears the only two outs are Salem and Garlett. I'd really like to bring in a small and a tall, given we've got two tall defenders (Frost, OMac), and two tall forwards (TMac, Pedo) and Gawny in the ruck. If we lose a tall during the game, we will lose balance, although I guess Hibbo can play tall if needed and we don't really have any tall stocks in reserve to come in (apologies, Weid, I reckon you still need a stretch in the twos to smash the door down). So the two in's for me are Wags and Kenty. Bring some forward pressure please Kenty. PS - love that we're getting our key players right to go for finals and we haven't scheduled any operations to get players right for preseason/next year...
  10. I can't believe the defence counsel suggested the painful chin Oliver encountered might have been from him jumping up to retaliate and running into Schofield's back. Makes a mockery of the medical report. somebody should have elbowed the defence counsel in the face and asked "was that low or negligible" just makes me more angry on the hogan suspension based on Rowe having "concussion"
  11. I like this. Gives him a pat on the back, and removes a potential distraction to allow him to focus on improving his footy - but a 1 year deal is really keeping a fire lit under him to perform. Congrats JKH.
  12. I wish Danelska, but no. I just don't like the message so I think it's appropriate to shoot his messenger.
  13. I'd recommend you get a new mailman GV. Unless this mail was of the 'e' variety. In which case, switch internet providers.
  14. We should demand independent doctors officiate in our next game against Carlton. #nothingbutdodgy
  15. Schofield 2 weeks down to 1 for intentional hit on Oliver and nothing to see with Viney/Hurn clash. For once, I'm in complete agreement with the MRP. Wonders will never cease.
  16. Andy - I'd like to report you. Typical of DL to find something wrong and whinge. Even the admin team have to plug the gap when there's nothing to find fault with!
  17. Elbowing players in the face after the siren is not a great look for the sport. The media and AFL would be better placed focussing on sending this message rather than arguing whether it was a glancing blow or not. from my perspective, Oliver's reaction clearly demonstrated it hurt. #givehimweeks
  18. My wife walked into the front room where I was watching the game last night just as Plugger Mac kicked the winner. She looked at me strangely, as I was standing right in front of the TV shaking my fists in a more animated version of Goody. It took me a while to explain we'd just gone in front with 20 secs to go because I was panting quite hard. she understood in the end, I think. Took me a while to wind down!
  19. I'm amazed the guys didn't get the right boots on after the warmup. Lots of slipping, esp. compared to them.
