  1. I'll only be impressed if it's the Richo in the ch7 commentary box that's impressed that Goody has the players winning a match of footy.
  2. I should have added that this whole discussion came about on Footy Classified after they talked about Buddy Franklin and that Sydney couldn't afford to go after another injury plagued kpf due to their history and having Sam Reid too. This thread is predicated on the availability of a restricted free agent kpf. In 2020. I've heard no whispers about Wright, so it seems like a Hail Mary to say we should go after him? If not Wright, who else do you put in the category? If you want a lump in the forward line, well the best lump that can clunk it is Mason Cox and he's poachable with Collingwood cap. However, I think what JD offers is a natural intuitive forward sense, that we're lacking. He'd round out our talks in the future if we got him right, but would also round out our current senior talls. TMac needs to be 2nd fiddle! And not to Fritsch, Goody you plank.
  3. Nice bait troll.
  4. This may be hard to take, given your virtue signalling to demonland about volunteering at salvos, but the world doesn't revolve around you. A forum discussion is read by more than just you, so not a waste of time to share information and sources on a given topic.
  5. And we'll probably waste another 25 games to find that out before giving him the boot and writing off 2021. Anyone pencilling in Carlton, StK and Essendon as wins in the next month is basing it on nothing other than footy played 21 months ago! On the topic of his pep talks. I get the impression he comes across scripted and wooden, has a bit of Bill Shorten about him. You can just tell that head coaching is not going to work out when only sustained success warrants not hiring better coaches out there waiting for a gig.
  6. You've managed to make yourself look like a bigger idiot by thinking that doing research on a topic you have an opinion on is a waste of time.
  7. Antifa isn't even an org, but a loose umbrella term for a multitude of left wing groups all with diff extremeties and aims, but all gathered around being anti fascist. For trump to want to declare "anti fascist" left wing groups terrorists and like tweets such as 'the only good democrat is a dead democrst" should raise some concerns over the looming spectre of fascism in the US But the point @drysdale demon is that there definitely are vested interests that want to incite violence and crush movements.
  8. https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/twitter-fake-antifa-acount-white-supremacists-removal/ And now you have fake antifa accounts promoting violence linked to European white supremacists. And Putin's puppet Trump shouting about antifa as terrorists. And even this week Trump trying to Get Russia back into the G7 Anyone with half a clue about geopolitics knows that all of the recent events this decade are part of Russia's "Foundations of Geopolitics" by Dugin used by Rus military. Just check the goals related to Ukraine, UK brexit, Europe, US all coming true https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundations_of_Geopolitics#:~:text=Russia should "introduce geopolitical disorder, the U.S. It would also the United States: Russia should use its special services within the borders of the United States to fuel instability and separatism, for instance, provoke "Afro-American racists". Russia should "introduce geopolitical disorder into internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social and racial conflicts, actively supporting all dissident movements – extremist, racist, and sectarian groups, thus destabilizing internal political processes in the U.S. It would also make sense simultaneously to support isolationist tendencies in American politics".[9] ?‍♂️ And then a long us government history of infiltrating political orgs: COINTELPRO (syllabic abbreviation derived from COunter INTELligence PROgram) (1956–1971) was a series of covert and illegal[1][2] projects conducted by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) aimed at surveilling, infiltrating, discrediting, and disrupting American political organizations.[3][4] FBI records show that COINTELPRO resources targeted groups and individuals that the FBI deemed subversive,[5] including feminist organizations,[6] the Communist Party USA,[7] anti–Vietnam War organizers, activists of the civil rights movement or Black Power movement (e.g. Martin Luther King Jr., the Nation of Islam, and the Black Panther Party), environmentalist and animal rights organizations, the American Indian Movement (AIM), independence movements (such as Puerto Rican independence groups like the Young Lords), and a variety of organizations that were part of the broader New Left. The program also targeted the Ku Klux Klan in 1964.[8] The FBI has used covert operations against domestic political groups since its inception; however, covert operations under the official COINTELPRO label took place between 1956 and 1971. [12] COINTELPRO tactics are still used to this day and have been alleged to include discrediting targets through psychological warfare; smearing individuals and groups using forged documents and by planting false reports in the media; harassment; wrongful imprisonment; and illegal violence, including assassination.[13][14][15][16] The FBI's stated motivation was "protecting national security, preventing violence, and maintaining the existing social and political order".[17]
  9. I'll leave that discussion to more educated minds than me re Bruekner, Burgess etc. But could one factor not just be time? Freo might've gotten him right if they'd stuck with it. If we'd taken HB back in 2014 or so we would've given up on him too already, and another club would be in the position we are in now, with him ready to play.
  10. The old adage if a tree falls in the forest.. if Hogan kicks a bag in a non demon game, will there be any dee fan around to see it? I know I did not schedule any freo games into my spare time last year or will this year, so how can I cheer him on?! Tbh I would love to cheer him on to kick 8 against us, just to witness some decent intuitive forward craft, wrestling a defender out of the contest and taking a 1 hander. thats the kind of [censored] I can enjoy...but at the end of the day, we still get up by a point over there. Best of both worlds!
  11. I think plenty of Dees supporters after round 1 are having premonitions that there is no way this list will be competitive in the final two weeks of the season over the next few years without some radical intervention to bring in a star or two by taking some big risks. Tmac and Weid kicking bags and winning premierships? It's just a laughable idea at this point. Like hoping Ben Holland and Troy Simmonds turn into clutch superstars.
  12. This whole discussion, while premature, is one that will need to be had if Daniher recovers or shows enough potential to recover from his injuries, we have another year with awful i50 conversions and miss the 8, and he's inevitably the only forward that is on the market in trade period. And yet if Burgess gets Bennell, vandenberg, Viney, Smith all injury free, we'll be the exact club an injury prone player will want to come to turn their career around. Big IF yes, but let's wait and see before mocking the idea of swooping in on a kpf player we won't have to trade anything for.
  13. Mentioned by K.Cornes that we can't have Petracca at 22 goals being our highest goal scorer and that we should target him if we think we're in a premiership window. Also back up Ruck position available for him. Personally I think this might actually be the year to make a move on Daniher if he is a restricted free agent and especially now that we don't have a 1st round pick to play with. If EFC are happy to get a 1st round compo. Th family association with Neal and with our yearly Big Freeze game. will be a membership coup IE great for kids to have a big marquee key forward to want to come and see. Much depends on his injury recovery and our KPF performances this year, of course
  14. The players will revolt if you take away their afternoon nap
  15. Melbourne v Carlton will need the sound FX team pressing the Benny Hill button constantly.
  16. And the Tigers also acknowledged that they needed another kpf after losing to Collingwood in the prelim, and had only used the 1-5 model out of necessity in 17. Even Josh caddy played pseudo CHF at the time. Doubtful they would've beaten Geelong last year without 2 (of the best,) kpf's running around. Seeing Fritsch manhandled by mcgovern/barass goes to show having 1 true kpf leaves both the kpf AND the smalls exposed. A team like us especially needs to not let a no2 defender run around mopping up all long kick entries.
  17. Perhaps if the AFL could trial moving walkways on the wings this year, like they have in airports. Our players could move up and down rapidly and with less fatigue.
  18. You've inadvertently made the case even stronger for no booing or shouting, with that sentence.
  19. We'd have to return to a consistent patch of form not seen since r22-SF 2018. I'm not getting any hope or expectation up in that regard. Fully expect 2/2 or 1/3. And 0/4 is far more likely than 4/4
  20. Given our new baseball style MFC logo, how about a dug out with the full list sitting in there chewin gum in their trackies waiting to be subbed in. I've watched too many basebal. movies over the years, and there's a heap of good ones! Before people interject with the 'stop Americanising footy' - I'm not being serious! Although 6 would be my preference going forward.
  21. Damn. You've re-ignited the debate Balls. "Do you want to see Bennell kick 5 and pick up 30 possessions in a Norm Smith granny with no crowd?" No crowd screaming and mexican waving a Beeeeeee-NNnnnneeeeellllllll chant in the last 5 mins before the siren and rendition of a grand old flag as our players embrace as premiers. ?? Nice thought.
  22. Bigger bench size to accommodate Petracca's thighs?
  23. Meh, just a reference to the Hutchy jab at Maxy and Goodys beanie looking more silly. You may resume the sophisticated late night discussion of training analytics
  24. Goody looks like more of a clown in that pom pom beanie than Maxy or Salem with the bleached hair ?
