  1. Googwin molly cuddling the players off-field definitely explains how soft our defensive pressure has been this year.
  2. More of a pre-limb final for us going up against their outside run!
  3. We could save a lot of hassle by having a downvote button on a thread, with an automatic thread deletion if it gets to about 80 or 90% downvoted. Mods can go on holidays. That being said, i'm really surprised this is a 50/50 split. I would've thought 8/10 demonlanders would've seen a place for Jones rotating through midfield and up forward next year. What would I know though
  4. Carlton should've beaten us in 2017 when Lewis threw a punch at Cripps and shifted the momentum. The year before in 2016, we had a chance to make finals and Carlton smashed us in round 21. We've never really been as far ahead of them as we all would've liked to think. It all clicked last year against weaker teams, but the weaker teams have improved far more this year. Preliminary Finals, yeah we caught a break with a month of footy with two dead-rubbers and games against two stale old champion sides that needed a hard reset because they lost to a team like us. Heck, even 2017 had better wins against Adel, WCE & Collingwood. 2018 we actually slid against the best teams if you look at how we played v Collingwood and couldnt beat a top 8 team all year. So I really don't think a loss to Carlton takes us back any further than we are. We already know that Carlton have been able to take it up to us in all but 1 year of the past 5. We've always played dumb chaotic footy, nothing changes with a loss to the Blues.
  5. Another boring match. I'd envy Geelong for being so methodical and disciplined as a team, but the place is a dump and their best player is a homophobe. The comp is in a terrible state with them up the top.
  6. He can and should use his size in more the mould of Kawhi Leonard, just completely dominates and is unmoved from the space he inhabits or decides he wants to go to, but in a calm and measured way. Doesn't go around aggressively seeking contact or to dunk on people in that egotistical fashion. Petracca i think swings on the pendulum of happy/sad, confident or unconfident too wildly. I don't think he needs to play angry, but try and play in neutral emotionally balanced way. He has the talent to beat a player on pure ability and doesn't need to hype himself up to do it. Sam Mitchell played this way too. Just performs and then moves on to the next play, and doesnt linger on missed opportunities which effect confidence and... set shot kicking.
  7. Despite a few media outlets saying NM should trade Brown for high draft picks, I don't think they're anywhere near that stage. Brown is Tasmanian born and loves playing there. I'd presume NM consider themselves ready for the fight of jumping back into the finals even this year, but definitely next year and would want way more than pick 3-5. Probably two first rounders or more. ie the offer they can't refuse. Just can't see it happening. I wonder how much we could offer Jeremy Cameron though. Would we be willing to offer up 1.2m per season to lure him?
  8. I thought it was hilarious. He was being held but played it up in such an awkwardly absurd way with the delayed reaction. He has no history of it, strong word not necessary.
  9. When/How the hell did Sparrow get injured?
  10. Both. It's possible to finish last on 11 wins, I saw some one on reddit r/afl with too much time on their hands create a ladder with the remaining fixtures that had every team on about 11-12 wins. ?
  11. He had no place outside of the best 22 until a few days ago according to team selection. Easily gets a 1 year extension.
  12. I've got NFI who should play given i've watched zero neutral matches all year and have no idea who Brisbane's team and our matchups for them are. That being said I'm looking forward to our club taking on a team that seems to be on the rise like we were last year, so It's a symbolic match of sorts. And could be used as a way for us to put our stamp on them for future matches, given we plan to be back in the mix soon enough. Even though i'd love pick 1, to go on a run and beat up on some teams over the next 10 teams could be a great way of saying 'lookout' for next year. In: Lever, Hibberd, Dunkley Out: Wagner, Petty, Hannan
  13. Though he picked the one time when it wasn't necessary. Viney can more than hold his own.
  14. I'd just love to see a long chronological history of our desperate chase for outside runners in 2025 when we're folding and looking at the opportunities we should have taken but instead went for your inside sparrows ? I should probably add my take: I think we should offer Brad Hill 800K. Get it [censored] done.
  15. Carlton had massive rivalries with all 3 clubs in 80's and 90's because their fan base were as big a pack of C**** when they were up and about.
  16. I Raise But seriously @Matsuo Basho, maybe google old posts to add new info, so we can get a chronological history on players as trade targets? Or Mods can just merge threads?
  17. You're correct. I did the predictor this morning and i have us finishing 8th with a final against WCE.
  18. Chasing Darcy Parish? Sounds like a good title for the George Pell biopic
  19. Frequently dropping it too. Has Bull ever worn a glove? Might seem like an obvious and dumb idea, but.. just maybe it could give him a little edge in "catching" them like McGovern does with his sticky hands. Borrow Jayden's, he surely doesn't need em!
  20. A few posters on the forum have suggested we give Viney lot more minutes up forward to apply defensive pressure and crumb. Which gives more time for Brayshaw to flourish as a pure inside mid where he was dominant last year. What do you think?
  21. Hogan to kick 6 on May and hammer the final nails to seal our 2019 season coffin. The most fitting finale of all.
