Why does his position in the bnF have any bearing on the conversation over his role in the team moving forward? Clarko didn't roll out the red carpet of a long contract for Lewis or Mitchell after they finished in the top 2 or 3 of their bNf. He saw the writing on the wall that a 3 years contract was not going to benefit the team, and traded them somewhere that would benefit them individually. I'm not suggesting anything like that, i'm only suggesting that having the conversation about Jones, his strengths and weaknesses and his role or position in the team next year and the years after, does not make you a hater.

Sole Captaincy?
Jay Clark reported a refutation that the Hogan deal wasn't 8 years, but 3 though. Seemed to have taken our side and reported against the WA media lies.

Andrew Brayshaw
Didn't watch any Freo games this year aside from our game. What kind of player is Brayshaw? Or will become?

PICKS # 26 & 31 (formerly # 23 & 28)
Many players that have been mentioned on here were negated with 'should go earlier', but having a mixed lolly bag of all of them in mind should net us one or two of em as they can't all be picked. I suppose that's how we got Petty last year

Farewell Jesse Hogan
There will be plenty of people playfully boo'ing an ex player without any spite, just because it comes with the territory of departing a club. Surely someone as highly intelligent and enlightened as you wouldn't set yourself up for the disappointment. ?

Pass Mark 2019
My pass mark will be no greater than one or two 20-30+ point losses max. So playing to win every single quarter. Obviously a tonne of close losses will be a fail if they're against weaker teams, but if we win all of the games we should and have a health balance of close wins/losses against good opponents then we'll be in good stead for the finals, we'll be good enough to really push deep into the finals and potentially win a prelim. Close prelim game is the finals pass mark I suppose. I don't want any of that Hawthorn & Collingwood nonsense repeated next year. If we have an off day, we better back it up with a fierce response. Should put us on track to win about 15/16 games.

Lyon's Plea to Petracca: Be Like Max
His numbers are traccing as good as Jordan De Goey's, he just needs to kick more goals and take more marks as it's a noticeably large difference. I wonder how much of that can be attributed to playing more midfield time than JDG though, as he's definitely not the focal point of our forward line like he is theirs. It was spoken about on another thread, but Tracc is 5cm shorter and 5kg heavier according to those stats. So maybe Lyon just wants him to lose a bit of weight in the off and become a more aerobic player to give him an extra yard of elusive pace. Footywire comparison

We’re going to win the Flag next year - what do you do when we do?
I'm detached from the footy world in my corner of the world so i will just close the media file, message my parents saying 'hooray we finally fudging won' and then walk around with a smile on my face for the rest of the day, stuffing as much media and articles into my brain before opening the draft forum the following day to read and comment on who we need to go back to back ?

Demonland Podcast with Josh Mahoney TONIGHT 14/11 @ 8:30pm
I don't know if this one will get through, but have we really addressed one of our key areas in the trade period (Outside speed) by recruiting a player with a history of concussion injuries that is no guarantee to get on the park or re-gain past form? I'm all for taking the punt on a player with a massive upside like KK, but shouldn't we have looked for more ready-to-go outside pace in the trade period this year or last? Given we were cut to ribbons by the Pies and Eagles, and probably got the speedy Dons while they were down, it might be worthwhile to make more of an investment in players who are ready to go, instead of relying on drafting young players like Baker to fill the speed quota who will take years. I guess we just wait and see for the draft in a few weeks though, But there still remains a big question mark on our speed and an even bigger question mark on whether KK, Hunt, Stretch etc will be adequate...

2019 Fixture
They're a young team, but they're so off the mark structurally. I think Adelaide are the prime candidate for surging towards an easy run towards a grand final next year! Edit: I wonder, is the draw divided into 3 groups alone? Or is there a graded seeding of all 18 clubs ? is 13th the same as 18th fixture wise? Is 12th the same as 7th? So how far is 12th Adelaide from 13th Bulldogs?
-
What’s the go with Essendrug?
While a very good trade period, I do think a small concern is that we've publicly said that we addressed all of our needs in the trade period. So adding Kade Kola addresses our need for outside speed in totality? With all due respect, the bloke can't even get on the park currently, so it seems a little dubious to pin our hopes on one player who is recovering from concussion injuries. I know we'll have Hunt, Stretch, Baker to return/debut, but I still think we could have picked up a ready made player like A. Hall or A. Saad the year before. Do we have our sights on a few speedy players in the draft?

On a selfish level, im curious to see how many pages we can get up to over the course of his career.

Frank Anderson
There's a Frank Davis in the '64 team at half back. We're recruiting MFC Premiership experience. Sorry Jordy! In all seriousness, that's as good an omen as any? Recruit Frank!

Farewell Jesse Hogan
He's definitely ahead of JDG on the scales I hope Tracc follows in the footsteps of Gawn and comes back ripe and has a big off season and sheds a few kilo's. Perhaps it's what stands in the way of him becoming as explosive a burst player as Goey

Daniel Menzel
Is anyone on top of the situation? Why was he delisted? Any personal issues? He's not lazy if he's a good pressure player. Perhaps a delisting because of a plan to get Rankine?

Welcome to Demonland Toby Bedford
He sounds like Dane Swan if true, although his taste was for unapologetically bashing security guards.

Daniel Menzel
"Was delisted by Port Adelaide on Monday, despite being one of the best pressure forwards in the league. He’s managed just 15 games from the past two seasons, but his record of 55 goals from 66 games stacks up well. Neade impressed in the SANFL in 2018 with his ball-winning ability (17 disposals per outing) and pressure (six tackles). At 24, Neade has age on his side as well." Sounds interesting, i wonder why he's rarely been suggested on this forum though?

Oxley isn't best 22 for Collingwood, so we don't need to recruit him to avoid a repeat of the 2013 QB

I think I saw Rodney Grinter walking around at the Basin once, i think he owned a car yard there at one stage, but i could be wrong.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
So what would he offer if we recruited pace from elsewhere? Because we've done that with the additon of May and KK, and with a DL'ers convo with member of MFC coaching staff, Jayden Hunt being very much in the frame next year. So Frost must now have more redeemable qualities than just pace. He becomes depth I think because his qualities as a KPD 1 on 1 defender are not up to a high enough standard.
