I wonder how long we've been talking to Steven May. I know we've had a demonland thread on him for almost 2 years, so his future availability has been known for a long time. But given he went to Melbourne grammar, and how readily he has unofficially nominated us, you'd think he may have a few connections inside the club and has been courted over time? Our recruitment of him will be another victory for and a testament to our newfound stability especially coming up directly against the recruiting forces of Hawthorn and Collingwood.

Do we have any rumours of players we might be looking at drafting, trading for or picking up from a delisted club in the event of the following situations, or any personal suggestions on players to pick up? Hogan is traded, May comes in. Another 3rd tall forward? Hogan stays, May stays, Hold tight for a year? Or another KPD? Or if Hogan stays. May signs with another club. Another KPD?

Would be magnificent tbh. Our TMAC/WEID/Hogan forward line becomes ELITE in the Riewold/Lynch, Kennedy/Darling level. Lever & Omac have great years, we capitalize on all close matches unlike last year, and have a full tilt at a premiership from the top 2 with a 3 game MCG pathway in the finals despite defence still being one 'fragile' area of our game. Steven May holds out for one year and we pick him up next year in our quest to go back to back. All areas of our team become A+

You're missing the point. Weid got into the team right at an opportune moment when we had our backs against the wall and we responded. I don't think his inclusion was a defining factor in us beating WCE and GWS. So how would Hogan have gone in those games? Maybe he would have stepped up and made a big impact. The point is that Weid got the opportunity and Hogan didn't. Concluding that he can't play against top 8 teams, is the same as concluding Weid couldn't pre round 20, until he did.- Farewell Jesse Hogan

I don't actually think the question of how Hogan goes against top sides has been answered yet. How did Weid go in that period while our midfield, defence and our coaches box were being crushed? He didn't play. But at the end of the year he got the opportunity and stepped up. Hogan never got that opportunity. It's only fair that he be assessed next year properly like Weid was, or not assessed at all.- Farewell Jesse Hogan

I never said we should do that deal, i just said that 5 + Ed Langdon is a fairytale right now. We might dig in and pull off 5+23 if Freo cave, but the mental health rumours suggest otherwise. Getting Langdon instead of 23 seems fanciful imo- Farewell Jesse Hogan
