  1. This is an interesting conversation especially in the context of our own forward line not currently playing a third tall and stretching defenses.
  2. Jesse Croadgan!
  3. Which vpn? Seems like its a good one, or maybe that's just Finland internet? ?
  4. Or why not have both? 3 marking targets + small forward & flanks. Geelongs defence is their biggest asset, we'll need players who can take marks or bring it to ground inside 50. I know we have to stem the flow of outside run from defence, but that really should be covered by having rabidly defensive small forwards and a midfielder or two.
  5. Rolled ankle usually heals within hours or a day or two?
  6. We would've retreated to meekness had Hawthorn actually taken their opportunities in front of goal. I think a lot of sugar coating has occurred with the finals series. Clarko's system predictably smothered our effectiveness for most of the night, and their spread and skill cut through our zone. But we were let off the hook and our physicality wore them down after their offensive efforts left them deflated and ripe to be overrun by our momentum.
  7. Considering he was in the VFL up until round 21 or so last year, it's probably wise and healthy from a list perspective that we haven't automatically booked him in to play every week, but are looking at that position as interchangeable with some other players, form permitting. Having said that, there's no way i'd be dropping him after just one match.
  8. Only saw the first quarter yesterday, so based on that: how about Hunt in the forward line?
  9. The 'me' generation that has to spend 12 times the annual median income to afford a Sydney house instead of x4 like in the 70's. Additionally you have to factor in lower mortgage interest rates, higher saving rates, lower educational debt etc. C'mon mate. The baby boomers had it easy compared to today. They are the entitled generation, if any.
  10. Jesse is training the brewery down this off-season
  11. Gotta love his V shaped hairline, though he should dye it bright red.
  12. We could create an AFLX rectanglur pitch in the upstairs Flinders Street ball room
  13. I can't believe anyone would ever vote again for a party that signs a pre-election agreement to send a billion tax payer dollars to their construction mates if their freeway isn't built and I wouldn't listen to the 'equally bad' nonsense, it's just a disillusioned lib talking point to disguise them all as indistinguishable from each other. Re-opening tafes is more important than building new AFL facilities. So maybe the Yarra Park facilities should be geared more towards education and learning. Sports science, training etc with MFC facilities tacked on, to get approval. Probably not the place for a digressing political discussion though, oops.
  14. Sacrilege to mention around here, but Freo are one of the few teams that i want to win a premiership outside of the Dees. I was barracking hard in 2013 for them, shouting at the telly when they beat Geelong at Kardinia Park, enjoying their crushing pressure game on Sydney. And of course barracking hard for them against Hawthorn in the prelim back in 2015 when it went down to the wire. If they can see some success in the next 7 or so years with Hogan reaching his potential, it would be good for the game and nice that we've played a role in his development.
  15. Something to do with these two ^ Hopefully that thread doesn't last even a round!
  16. Didn't watch any Freo games this year aside from our game. What kind of player is Brayshaw? Or will become?
  17. There will be plenty of people playfully boo'ing an ex player without any spite, just because it comes with the territory of departing a club. Surely someone as highly intelligent and enlightened as you wouldn't set yourself up for the disappointment. ?
  18. My pass mark will be no greater than one or two 20-30+ point losses max. So playing to win every single quarter. Obviously a tonne of close losses will be a fail if they're against weaker teams, but if we win all of the games we should and have a health balance of close wins/losses against good opponents then we'll be in good stead for the finals, we'll be good enough to really push deep into the finals and potentially win a prelim. Close prelim game is the finals pass mark I suppose. I don't want any of that Hawthorn & Collingwood nonsense repeated next year. If we have an off day, we better back it up with a fierce response. Should put us on track to win about 15/16 games.

  20. On a selfish level, im curious to see how many pages we can get up to over the course of his career.
  21. Meanwhile over on King street, a traditional rival is unveiling their new recruit in the likeness of a patron of the spearmint rhino
