Just struggling for top form. No mysterious "Captains Curse" going on here. Just a case of Brad playing below his best footy. He is a good enough player to build form and in a few weeks we should see some vintage Brad Green.

We would have to be the only supporter base that lynches players after a 90 point win. Grimes and Watts are copping a bashing. Watts played about 1 quarter, and Grimes had the odd clanger kick but in the end we won by 90 points people, give it a rest. The advantage of a winning team is that it allows players to build some form at the top level without costing the club wins. The Dees aren't great, but we are winning so save the stake burning for a 90 point loss. Enjoy the win!

Dunn has been poor the last 2 matches. Slicky Ricky could give us 4 good quarters but is not the same marking target that Dunn is. I think our forward 6 is still a bit of a dogs breakfast with no real concrete lineup that has worked. Wonna seems to be a lock down there, and Jurrah hasn't been able to catch on anywhere else outside the forward 50. Why not throw Ricky in and give him another go to see if another combo will work better.

Can't see the point of dropping anyone after a 90 point win. Watched the game, thought Beamer, Trenners, Flash and Bail looked like to be hitting some nice form. Rivo is also doing well down back. Did Gys look a tad slow? Seemed to get caught with the pill a fair bit.

To be honest, I would keep Jack in. Jack is a confidence player. I think playing against a fresh back 6 could really help him have a break out game. I would like Maric to pinch the sub off Morton (IMO Morton had zero impact last week). Maric had a blinder at Casey, and is another player that could build his season on a break out performance against the GC. If anything, we should be looking to sit any guys that are less that 100% fit for this game and let kids like Watts get another game (and likely win) under their belts.

Jordie being out has hurt our tackle count. We need to find another player capable of laying and sticking tackles on a regular basis. Bartram is solid, but a Jones/Beamer should be having greater numbers when it comes to sticking tackles. Both those boys are strong units.

Wondering if thread should be called "Josh Fraser: Spud or Demon Killah!" Back on topic, Ablett being out does significantly weaken the GC squad. I think if his as calf is giving him trouble he won't be too damaging even if he does play. Given it is the GC's first home game, I think he will play.

Scully Out for Another ... now ... back to Six Weeks
Adzman replied to Allen Jakovich's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jordie being out for another 4 is equally as hurtful to the side as Scully being out for 6. All the GWS rumors are about to get some fuel added to the fire. This is what we know: Tom has injured his knee, and is out for another 6. That is all! Leave the "red between the lines" BS out of it. Look forward to both Jordie and Tom getting a run later in the season. -
Big MLB fan. As fas as the "Big 4" Pro sports in the states go I am pretty die hard. I am however a long suffering Pirates fan. Yes, I know they suck, but so do the Demons so you can understand why it is hard to leave a lovable loser. Yes, it is a long a tedious season. Will Pirates play playoffs this season? Nope. Will the Sox? Maybe Happy to discuss MLB anytime. You follow the ABL??

Demonland predicting an 85 point win? Love the confidence. I would love to see it, it could set us up. Looking forward to seeing Jurrah cut loose.

I hope you a right about Straussy being ready for selection by midseason. I have heard plenty about his foot skills, but when I have seen him out at Casey he seems to struggle to find the pill. No point being sublime by foot if you can't get the footy. My issue is we seem to lack quality kick in players. If Strauss is a good as advertised then maybe he should take kick ins. Tappy does help our structure and will free some players up, but I think that Strauss is fairly deep on the ol depth chart to benefit from Tappy's arrival. We still have to Squeeze Scully/Jordie and possibly a Ricky or Maric back in.

Pressure is on the 2008 draftees as they all come out of contract at this seasons end. Blease will get a run for the dees if he stays fit. There was plenty of noise about him around the club when he was drafted, and everyone I have spoken to about him says that he is a great kid. Look forward to Sam's debut in the coming months. With some luck he can put the heat on our senior group to retain their spots.

No point getting into the 8 if we are just going to bounce right out. The aim is to stay there, and with the competition that lies ahead in the next few weeks we have the chance to set that up with some road wins against weaker opposition.
-
We don't play 4 quarters, so how can we expect to thrash anyone? Dees by 3-4 goals.

Green - one to forget Jones - building nice form Bartram - now Mr Reliable Watts - subbed off accordingly Gysberts - in best 22 Bennell - form is slipping Frawley - AFL's best FB Trengove - important in parts Morton - looked slightly underdone Sylvia - quiet but important Dunn - up and down Grimes - better foot usage Garland - reliable all day Moloney - prolific and effective Jurrah - dangerous when up Rivers - looking very solid Wonaeamirri - good in parts Martin - the real utlilty Tapscott - hard at it! Davey - was easily tagged Jamar - dominant ruck performance Bail - handy run provided
-
The Club took a strong stance against that sort of behavior. Consider Moloney's press conference a message to all of the players at the club.
-
Bad luck Juice. He had to be on the cusp of selection with Watts having an average game.
-
Bogut is king. He is one of our best. Special Mention to Patty Mills who is making a name for himself as a strong reserve at the Blazers. With some luck he may get a starting gig at a ball club Melbournes own David Andersen is in his 2nd NBA season as a mature age rookie. Nothing special but deserves a mention for breaking into a sport that we as a nation are not that passionate about. Peter Moylan is still kicking on as a relief pitcher for the Braves. He is solid. Plenty of good Aussie talent out there.

#8!!!! Even forked out the extra $10 to get Chip's number on the back of my jumper Starting to feel some real Bromance with Tappy though.
-
I usually grab a beer and some chips before the bounce so It doesn't bother me. If it bothers you join me at the bar and have a cold one.
-
I see no reason why both Gys and Tappy can't play every game form here on in (barring injury). Both will pick up a nomination before the season is out, as for winning it I think it will be hotly contested this season so anyone could win it.

They all double as Britney Spears' backup dancers??
-
Fine him, but let him play. We need him to play, but if cops a fine it sends a message to anyone else who breaks the teams rules. That, and the money can go back into the club. Beamer is a good sort, I am sure he was just having a bad night. Just glad it isn't Sylvia!

This year will mark the coming of Jack Watts. I think that pack mark against Hawthorn made a few people sit up and notice what Jack is capable of. The Rich/Natanui/Watts debate will rage on for years. Regardless of which camp you are in, you have to be pleased with the player we are about to see develop into a key part of our forwardline. Forget the hype. Jack is a player, enjoy watching him grow.

Davey resting in the forwardline is a good result for this team. He would also take a a good tagger away from the middle. Age and injuries have caught up with him, he certainly is not the jet he once was. Resting him forward could preserve his brilliance for longer in games, and potentially for further seasons of football. His foot skills are stunning, and could be very dangerous inside 50. As a general rule I would like to have him play inside for parts of the game, but spend some time in the forwardline.
