  1. Our FD has some deep love for the Brotherhood of Gingers. Nice to have another Blood nut on the team. If he doesn't have any weaknesses that means he can developed into a player with many strengths. Nice canvas to work from when you don't have to concentrate on training aspects out of his game, just refining what he already does well.
  2. Second chances don't come around every day. Let us hope Tommy can make a career out of it this time around. Here is hoping the injury bug leaves him alone second time around.
  3. He is still young and has time to find his groove. The rookies are exciting picks, as our FD have a knack for finding keepers. Good luck to the kid, a MFC supporter pulling on the jumper would be a dream come true!
  4. The Dees are high on Dan, I haven't seen much of him but am interested in what all the noise is about. I get the impression he was going to be our first selection regardless of who was on the table. Had heard some rumblings amongst other dees fans, and they were on the money with this pick.
  5. Was blown off my chair by this pick. To say it took me by surprise was an understatement. the last I heard heard on Robbie Campbell was that he was thinking of a comeback- that was it. All of a sudden the dees use a Smokey pick and draft him on the rookie list. I think this says more about the dees plans for 2011 than Robbie Campbell's ability. What the dees are saying is "yeah, we are ready for finals footy, and if something happens to Jamar we now have insurance- Robbie Campbell" I think the club is ready to contest, and if the kids are not ready to step into a ruck role, Campbell will be used in finals footy should we need him to rest/replace the Russian should anything go wrong. It also gives us a ruck duo NOW instead of in 3 years time. We are ready to make a push!
  6. Meesen was pick 8 in the ND and he didn't pan out. I really hope Thorp can find a club and gets a second chance, I just don't think our FD will take the risk on a kid who has had a checkered past. Good luck to him. Hopefully he has changed his attitude. His dog is also cool lookin, anyone know what kind of dog that is?

I also watched the Texans Eagles game. If only Demeco Ryans had played....... The Texans rushed Vick all game, but lacking a tough OLB and defensive leader is what let Vick off the hook. I still think the Falcons are the team to beat in the NFC. They have taken care of business and have done so without making too much noise. Vick is certainly and MVP candidate. He is having a ripper and will be a hotly contested free agent next season. I can see Vick in Miami (his brother played in Miami!) given that they are one top QB away from storming into contenderville. Beware of the Pats in the AFC!!
  8. I need to go and see a man about a dog, and a woman about a [censored].......

  9. Never been a Demonology fan. Had a look at both sites over half a decade ago, and have never regretted my decision to become a Demonland resident instead of a Demonology resident. Welcome Chopper.
  10. Your kids have golf lessons???
  11. Tha new clash jumper has got nothing on last years. The demon on white was ok in my book, this new one is suspect at best. As for the other changes, seems fine to me.
  12. Collingwood actually did this for a while. I have seen a few Tarrant and Buckley scarfs floating around at games. No idea of the volume of production, or the cost to purchase. I don't mind the idea, as it becomes somewhat of a collectors item and does add to the revenue at the demons shop. We all know we fork out for merch when we are winning, so not the worst idea. My one tweak on it would be that we make memorial player scarfs. Reward club legends with a limited release, not just any player who happens to be on the list at the time. That will eliminate the risk of players jumping clubs, because they have already retired.
  13. Sculls is a Victorian boy who wants to win. The GWS could be the AFL's riskiest expansion team being that it is a very heavy populated NRL area. If I wanted a career at the top level, I would be staying the hell away from the GWS. Sculls name is going to be tossed up every year he is out of contract for the rest of his career. All clubs have to put up with it. When a young gun is available, I would expect our guys to be chased. Sculls is not going anywhere, and if he does we will cry bloody murder and be given some tasty compensation.
  14. Never have I seen such emphasis put on a rookie draft. So many promising players have come form this draft format, and it is finally getting the attention it deserves. With 90 odd selections to be made, we may end up with a handful of guys on our permission to train list. As for smokeys, I can see the dees getting one on the rookie list. For some reason I think PJ will be retained on the rookie list with the last rookie pick if he has not found a home elsewhere. Tommy Mac might also be in the same boat. I think the dees will mix up the picks a bit. I think they will go for your "hyrbid" type players that can play mid or down back/front. I can't see them going for too many bigs considering our draft stock being all above 190cm. I usually have an idea of how teams will approach a draft, but I was certainly wrong about the ND this year and would not put a single dollar on who the dees will pick in the rookie draft.

Still too early to tell what Philly are going to do. The Dirty Birds (Atlanta) look more dangerous than Philly, but the eagles do have players that can win big games. The NFC is weaker this season than the AFC, so my tip is that the eagles should make the conference final. My Texans have lost 3 straight............season over............
  16. This is a great story for the club. Looking forward to having the name "Viney" back on the list.
  17. I would like to see the dees trade their first round pick next year for an up and coming player. For example, move our first pick to a gold coast for a Lynch type, then the earliest pick we can be forced to use for Jack Viney will be a second rounder. We then come out with 2 very nice quality players. The aim would be to find a young and talented enough target worth giving up a first rounder for, and of course a trading partner who is willing to give up a kid for a first rounder. Not sure on the trading rules, but we could perhaps even look into a trade that sends our 1st and 6th rounder, a player for another teams 2 and 3 rounder, which then gives us more picks in the top 50 to play with.
  18. Nice mark......the kick was one to forget.
  19. I have not seen a flag in my 27 years on the planet. The sooner...the better!
  20. Collingwood's debt had to do with the expansion of their assets, not an operating loss due to poor revenue and sub par sponsorship deals. The other clubs are struggling due to some of these factors. We should be proud of where we stand, but the MFCs finances are now way near the level of Collingwood's, even if they are still 3mil in the red.
  21. Sheedy is just talkin trash. This his opinion, it is not fact. Move on.
  22. Gawn could still get bigger...... All of a sudden our list has become massive. We have been a small team for a long while now, and while we have had some talls come and go, they have often been your Holland type bigs who are big but also slow. We now have talls that can run.... scary thought.
  23. 3 years ago I would have taken the punt. But now I would suggest that we put time and development into the big lads we have drafter over the past 2 drafts. Nothing against Hansen, but we need to keep building for the future. If James McDonald is sent off into the sunset at age 30, then a 27yo Ashley Hansen has no place on our list.
  24. Sinclair was unlucky not to get picked up considering over 100 picks were used during the ND. Considering we picked 4 talls, do you think the football department would look to add further talls to the mix via the PSD/Rookie drafts? From all reports Sinclair is ready to go having played VFL against men already, but does he fit a need for the dees who now boast a bevy of young talls on the list? Would love to get him, but I now think we have to look at adding some mids to the rookie list just in case we get hit with injuries.
  25. McDonald looked okay in the highlights footage. It gets pretty hard to pick a superstar at #53 so I think the dees have done well stockpiling the forward/ruck type player to unsure we will have one top flight candidate come out of the most recent batch of players. The more the merrier.
