  1. It's impossible to say what pick 22 will end up as, but I would have thought an early second round pick is close to spot-on for Saad. Would happily part with 22, but think throwing in TMac is overs unless something else comes our way. Would be reminiscent of the Melksham/Hibberd trades.
  2. Green’s already got one so it Rivers’ to lose for this round.
  3. I think the case is now closed!
  4. I’m always one to look on the positive side when team sections are announced, but I’m really struggling to get excited by the selected team this week. Smith, ANB, Brown, Melksham, all very lucky. One thing I am happy to see is Hunt named at half back. Hopefully he actually plays there and it’s not all for show.
  5. I thought Ryan had hit his ceiling in 2018 - he just keeps getting better and better. Great player.
  6. Can't speak with any confidence about us winning both, but I think the Saints losing to both WCE and GWS is the most likely way through for us.
  7. By my count... Saints have Eagles and GWS. Bulldogs have Hawthorn and Fremantle. GWS have Melbourne and Saints. melbourne have GWS and Essendon. We win both and Saints lose both, we're in. We win both and Bulldogs lose one, we're in.
  8. The heart wants what the heart wants.
  9. Heard that Collingwood were keen but can't for the life of me imagine how they could fit him in when they're struggling with Moore and Degoey's contracts as it is. I'd take Jesse back, no problems.
  10. Well, I've gone from 'Play the kids' this morning to 'Best 22 and fingers crossed they find some form.' Would like to see Baker and Bedford have a go in better conditions and for TMac and Bennell, if not now, then when? OUT: HUNT, NEAL-BULLEN, PREUSS, SMITH IN: T.MCDONALD, HARMES, HANNAN, BENNELL HIBBERD. MAY. LEVER. SALEM. TOMLINSON. RIVERS. LANGDON. OLIVER. BAKER. BEDFORD. T.MCDONALD. HARMES. PICKETT. WEIDEMAN. FRITSCH. GAWN. PETRACCA. VINEY. MELKSHAM. BENNELL. VANDENBERG. HANNAN.
  11. Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in!
  12. Not sure it's an issues of overrating Oliver, more that it is unfair of us to expect him to play the same as a 29yo 2 x Brownlow medalist and a 300 gamer like Mundy. Last night's conditions were out of this world - the experienced Mundy and Fyfe played with much cooler heads than our younger mids. Oliver is still a baby by afl standards, as frustrating as it feels, there are going to be inconsistencies in his games for the next few years. When he's 26, then we can expect Fyfe-like performances and consistency.
  13. I tend to agree with this; he plays like the inexperienced kid that he is. Unlike most kids, he actually needs to slow down and relax as he’s overdoing and overreacting with the ball in in hand. Way too early to make a call on any of last years draftees. Serong was always highly regarded in his draft year so there’s no shock he’s having an immediate impact, but he’s playing no better than Daniel Rich, Rhyse Palmer or Lewis Taylor did in their debut years.
  14. Kossi and Rivers are in the first of their 10+ year careers with the club. Very happy to have them both on the list.
  15. “I can’t stress enough on the importance of drafting more inside mids with bad skills who are slow.” Didn’t you make these comments after trade week, when we had already traded with Nth? Did you think we should take a slow, inside mid with bad skills instead of Kossi?
  16. Taking Serong would be a disaster.
  17. When you only post negatively, you’re going to contradict yourself.
  18. You are very strongly against drafting Caleb Serong in the thread: 'Taking Serong would be a disaster' You describe his as a slow inside mid.
  19. Weird thing about Hawthorn losing is that’s there’s so many people hoping they fire their coach so their club can sign him.
  20. His version is he didn't get a chance to take a cut. Club said he needed to take a cut, he and his manger were discussing it, manager was putting a proposal together whilst Woey was on the end of season trip, then the club traded him to Collingwood before they had the chance to negotiate. Daniher says at the end of the vid that the salary cap was so tight, that someone simply had to go and that cutting Woewodin allowed them to keep: Yze, Johnstone and offer contracts to Robertson, Powell, James McDonald and Chris Lamb.
  21. From Woewodin's and his management's point of view, Melbourne definitely didn't deal with them fairly. https://www.afl.com.au/video/165520/the-day-the-dees-traded-a-brownlow-medallist?videoId=165520&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1476318392001
  22. I’d say he’s currently a better player than Sparrow and Jordan. If I was picking a best 22 for finals this year and I could only play one out of those three, I think I’d pick Tyson.
  23. Watched the interview and, as always with discussions on Jack Trengove’s career, left feeling a bit sad and empty. He’s a very resilient man though, much stronger and more positive than most. No one could ever blame him for being a bit bitter, but that’s now how his mind works. I imagine Mike doesn’t surprise many guests with his question. I’d say that JT made it clear what he was and was not willing to discuss... one day we’ll get the whole story.
  24. I was disappointed when Tyson left. Much like Brayshaw last year, he was playing out of position in 2018 and struggled. Would have played regular matches last year for us if fit. If memory serves correctly, I think the Gold Coast tried to lure him Nth. In retrospect, that would have been a perfect move for him. Sad that he’s had so many injury problems over the past 12 months. A player like him would improve our list overall and I believe the club when they said we’d have been happy to keep him, but can’t see it happening.
  25. I’d say he was front-runner for the first half of the season, but he’s dropped off quite a bit now. Definitely a chance if his form picks back up.
