If memory serves correctly, Cameron gave Tom Boyd a parting swipe on Twitter for leaving the Giants. Not unhappy to see this turn a little bit bumpy for him.

He’s a great player when fit. He’s somewhat mentally fragile but is one of the few current forwards who can tear a game apart in minutes. Definitely worth a first round pick.
  3. Not that we needed it after the events of 2008-12, but more proof of the benefits of having senior players to guide the young/inexperienced.

No hard feelings to Smith from me; I think we may have dodged a bullet on this one. The end comes quickly for outside pacey players and I don’t think he has close to three years left in him.
  5. Will be very interested to see where he trains over summer. Last preseason was with the forwards but there is also a spot up for grabs at CHB.
  6. Was glad to see him get a bit of a run toward the end of the year. There’s a player there if he can have some luck with injuries and a real crack at the preseason.
  7. You judge a trade by what you pay vs what you get in return. Bugg, Wagner, McKenna, Mitchie and Balic were all steak knives, late picks and DFAs. They didn’t come off, but we also gave up next to nothing for them. Kennedy was a poor trade, but we were being held over a barrel on that one anyway.
  8. Was it he and his father that told recruiters that he'd only play for Essendon?
  9. Yep. You can add Hibberd and Melksham to the list too. We’ve done alright getting the players we’ve been after the last few years.
  10. A fun read! I like this time of year when the rumours run thick and fast. Whilst I’m sure many/most won’t pan out, none of them seem outside of the realms of possibility. Sounfs like Sydney are very keen on getting a tall forward in.
  11. It’s easy to say something is a mistake, without offering an alternative. It doesn’t make you ‘right’ it makes you a cynic.
  12. This morning. Where’s the source/article from 2009 that says Martin will be the better player? I’ll help you out; you won’t find it. Again, congrats to Dusty and Richmond, but they would not have taken him with pick one.
  13. That was written this morning. Hindsight.
  14. Find a quote from 2009. Everything you post is hindsight. There’s some wriggle room with Trengove, but Scully was a lock on par with Walsh and Rowell in his draft year. Good on Richmond and good on Martin for the way things have turned out, but if they had pick 1, they 100% would have taken Scully.
  15. Yes. You made a negative post. You only make negative posts. Then you can always claim to be right when things don’t work out. You had no idea who Pickett even was, but now you’ll stamp your feet that we didn’t take him, as though he was the obvious choice at the time.
  16. Completely wrong. Richmond had Scully as the best in the draft and were spewing that we had him. Its worth noting that no one had Martin over Scully in 2009. No one.
  17. I’ve had a quick look but I can’t find Captain Hindsight’s post about Pickett 18 months ago... perhaps you can help me out with a link.
  18. Sounding to me like a salary dump; could come cheap in trade, big in cap.
  19. Never should have gone back to WA. I’m going glass half full and he can take Harley’s spot on the high-risk-high-reward list. This could be our Trent Croad moment.
  20. Surely would have also gone through his former coach who originally drafted him.
  21. Whenever I'm watching Geelong, he seems to be playing alright. Doesn't seem to be a ball-magnety and clearly I've missed the matches where he's stunk it up. We need someone to be a big bodied replacement for Preuss. Whilst he wasn't getting regular games, he was able to provide a contest in Gawn's absence. I'd hate to see Jackson having to ruck entire matches at his age/weight. At the moment, Tom McDonald would need to cover Gawn in case of injury, and if he leaves as well, then the need grows greater.
  22. I’d speculate it may have been Neil Craig recommending that one.
  23. I personally think the coaches’ award is the one to watch for real insight. With that said, there’s not many times the Brownlow has gone to an undeserving recipient.
  24. Maybe. But it’s a completely different voting system. If anything, it suggests that when the team plays poorly, Viney still plays well.
  25. It’s a very strange kind of grief. In some ways you’re not sure if your entitled to grieve or if there are degrees to which your loss stacks up against that of others. It’s strange that, to even someone who has gone through it twice in the last twelve months, that making your loss known to others is still somewhat taboo. People are now staring to talk about it, and that’s a good thing.
