2023 Injury List
5 weeks until our first final. You doubt we would risk him, but he could be back for a prelim/semi if we make it.

I think we would want a bit more back from WC is we are giving picks 4 & 5. From a draft number perspective those two picks are worth 3,912 points and pick 1 is worth 3,000 (I note that the draft values aren't as relevant in this instance). We would probably want WC second round pick back for that and maybe a swap of other picks.

Aliir Aliir & Lachie Jones in Concussion Protocol
Cornes is so biased it's embarrassing. Amazed no one else in the media is calling him out for not doing his 'Vol-Kane-o' segment about this. He is an absolute peanut and can't stand the bloke.

Yeah he is. I've always liked him as a player and find it surprising he has one of the lowest DE in the comp. He's always seemed like a neat user to me.

I'm fine with that personally, given we got the same thing for Frawley (though I think he was a better player than McKay). If they give them both I will not be happy and I'd definitely be open to taking Sanders out our first pick if he's available.

The AFL will probably give them an end of 1st round but give them access to Sanders, so essentially they get two top 10 picks anyway.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
I'm in the camp that would rather we use our 1st pick, Freo 2nd and our 2nd to try get Gold Coasts first. We can then take two top 10 picks to the draft. As mentioned before I would be surprised if we aren't interested in O'sullivan. 198cm key defender and a great replacement for May in 2-3 years time. Plus if we want to stick with the Petty/JVR forward combo moving forward it would be nice to have another gun key defender to replace petty.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Slightly different to the other ones, with Caddy much higher.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
My preference is to try get the GC pick and go with Duursma and O'Sullivan

Aliir Aliir & Lachie Jones in Concussion Protocol
The fact Port tried to list Jones as being out with a "migraine", shows how deceitful they are and the fact they are trying to by-pass the rules. It is clear as day and I don't care how they try to spin it, the facts are damning. I actually think the majority of club Doctors, potentially every one other than the Port Dr, has erred on the side of caution and if they have one shred of doubt they are pulling players out. Not even being a medical professional, there is no way I could look at that footage and say, 'I'm comfortable there is no chance there was a concussion'. I think the AFL will tighten the rules and in events like that, even if a player passes the relevant tests they will still be subbed out given how often concussion symptoms are delayed.

Buddy Retires Effective Immediately
His highlights reel, especially from the first 10 or so years was freakish. I enjoyed jeering him whenever he played us, mainly because I knew how good he was and it is a mark of respect in my mind when you feel the need to get stuck into the opposition! Been a pleasure watching him play.

Harrison Petty - KPF in 2023
It's settled, we can go out this offseason to find another key back and Petty is Neita 2.0

My god, Sumich is so full of excrement it's mind blowing how these people have jobs in the media. 18 year old key forward plays in reserves to improve football ability rather than getting thrown to the wolves..... Then imagine we did play him last year, would just say oh the mishandling of van Rooyen for playing him too early....

Connor O'Sullivan looks pretty impressive, if we decide to take two top 10 picks instead. He looks almost a carbon copy of Darcy Moore. Imagine pairing him up with Petty for 10 years.

Totally agree.... but just preparing everyone in the event it does happen.

The issue is I have heard rumours that the AFL plan to give North a band 1 compo for losing McKay and may also give them academy access to Sanders. If this happens, North will likely be taking Watson, McKercher and Sanders.

Simon Goodwin Coaching Record
I love people saying, oh but he has the best list. How can anyone actually quantify the 'best list'. I guess you could take the player ratings and then work out the average across each list, but that is skewed because some players haven't played as many games in the most recent history which is what that is calculated by. It's a complete furphy we have the best list. We have a great backline and midfield, but our forwardline would be nowhere near the best on raw talent.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
It's a hard one for Brown. He's probably our smartest forward with his leading patterns, other than maybe Fritsch. But watching him you can just tell he is really struggling with movement. Is it better to play Petty forward, who doesn't have as good craft but is more mobile and better when the ball hits the deck.

If we do have the option to trade for Gold Coasts first pick, I think I would rather take pick 4/5 and pick 6/7 to the draft and get two top 10 picks. Could give us the chance to draft a Durrsma/Watson combo or something like that. You would have to assume that the fact Duursma is playing games at Casey we must have some interest.

Wildcard Round
If they want to have a wildcard weekend I don't really care either way, no one from 7-10 is winning a flag let's be honest. If it creates more money and interest in the AFL then I guess it's good overall for the game. In regards to the 17-6 fixture, I would hate if they play 17 games and then break into teams of 6 and only play off against those sides for spots. That is just a stupid idea and would disadvantage teams who maybe started slowly and are firing late, as say you are 7th by % then that is a huge price to pay with 6 games left. What I would like to see is the first 17 games every team plays and then there is a bye week as the AFL works out the fixture for the remaining 6 games. Teams can then be given a weighted draw based on difficulty to ensure each team has a relatively similar draw. This bye weekend would also then coincide with the opening round of the AFLW fixture, so that there is still football on and then the women's competition will run from there and continue after the men's finals are finished.

Contracted Tomlinson Looks to Move On?
The upside to this is Tommo will be playing for his career in a way, given the way he performs this week may go a long way to another side offering a trade
