  1. What an absolute little [censored]. How about your mate Chol Will? Looking forward to getting stuck into him next time we play
  2. Good work Goody. Time to stand up to this corrupt organisation.
  3. Jeff Gleeson is a major problem and is ruining the tribunal process. He essentially accepted that what JVR did was not unreasonable and was in the play, but then found some way to make out that he was unreasonable, which is totally contradictoray. He then quite obviously held sway over Johnson and Williams, who let' be honest are just token tribunal members to make it look like it isn't just Gleeson calling the shots.
  4. They are completely different actions so can't be compared. Cripps should never have got off, but it was a loophole the AFL closed with their wording.
  5. Going of the media views on this incident I'd say there is a very high chance he gets off this one. As a poster above mentioned, how do they even come to this determination when Chol's swining arm was much worse and had a high chance of causing an injury. Absolutely no consistency from two incidents in the same match. Christian obviously panicked because a stretcher was called out, but just because that happens doesn't mean the act is worthy of suspension. He has shown over the years he is not competent enough to fill the MRO role, so they should be making changes to this process at the end of 2023 and get something better in place.
  6. How did he go playing a round with Min Woo Lee yesterday and did he take the chocolates?
  7. The problem is the AFL won't want to reduce games because it costs them money with the broadcast deals
  8. This is why it may be better if we use 4-5 picks this year to further bolster our list than go all in on getting the number 1 pick
  9. We've noticed his issues with bending over, so keen to know if he feels his fitness is currently a 'work in progress'. Obviously don't expect him to say specifically, but definitely keen to know if it is something he is working through as the season progresses.
  10. I read that Eddie McGuire was saying he thinks the Giants should play 11 games in Canberra and 11 games in Western Sydney. Wtf has he been smoking?
  11. Having seen how successful Southport have been in the VFL comp I think the AFL missed a trick in leveraging their established setup in Queensland
  12. C'mon guys he's played one game in a 100 point drubbing.... let's see how he goes in a proper match
  13. He kicked 40 goals over two years at 19/20.... that's pretty consistent in my book.
  14. Could you imagine! haha that would be the greatest draft win in history.... would that make Reid the first number one pick to join the premier? 😈
  15. I agree DD, I much prefer Grundy in centre bounces and think we look more dynamic when he is in there. Gawn's biggest strength is his marking, both contested and the ability to out-run his opponent and get uncontested marks as well. I fee like once he comes to terms with this he may actually go to a new level and become the best ruck/forward in the game. If Gawn can get more marks in the 20-30m range he will kick a lot more goals. On Monday night all his shots (other than the goal line one) were taken from about 50 metres and I'd say he's at best a 50/50 chance from there but probably more a 40/60. If he can get more marks at the closer range I can easily see him kicking bags of 3, 4 or even more. The other benefit we have is he can drop behind the ball late in quarters if we want to 'kill' the game and not let a side score in red time. I think by the end of the season the Grundy/Gawn combo will be a well oiled machine and lead us to flag 14.
  16. 100%. That's why it would be great if we can get two early picks this year. One being the Freo pick and the other a potential trade up.
  17. A loss to the Dogs tonight would be perfect. With games coming against Brisbane (gabba), Hawks, Swans (SCG), Geelong and then us they could potentially be 3-8 after 11 rounds and season over. Love this death ride.
  18. He seems like the kind of player who will slide a bit due to size.... maybe a pick around 10-15? I wouldn't be surprised to see us go hard at this draft and trade up to have 2 picks inside the top 10-15. For example, let's say the dockers finish 11th which is their current position (highly likely given their draw) then we will have pick 8. Gold Coast currently have pick 3, however I expect they will win enough games to finish around 14th and will hold pick 6. Given they have a big key forward academy player who is a potential top 3 prospect we may be able to work a deal with them where we give our first round pick, Freos second and a future 1st for this pick plus some extra picks coming back. This would give us picks 6 & 8 in the draft, plus later picks to match a bid on Kynan Brown.
  19. 100%. Sometimes it makes you wonder why teams draft young project players in the 40s and 50s when there's mature guys like this who can come in and make an immediate impact.
  20. How is it having a large number of WA contingent in the squad and how tight are they?
  21. That's easy to say, but imagine you've got a strong AFL footballer in a tackle and they are pushing one way and you are trying to pull them the other. They then lose balance and your full weight pulls them down. It's not completely black and white. I agree that a sling tackle is reportable but some of these are pretty mild tackles.
  22. Thought I'd start a topic on here as this seems to be a big issue in the AFL at the moment. Keen to get people's thoughts on the high number of suspensions being handed out for tackles? It seems the AFL have got a bit trigger happy on these, with some seemingly innocuous tackles being slapped with 1 or 2 week bans. I'm all for protecting players heads, but I think it has got a bit over the top now and they should relax it a little for the players. It is so hard in the moment, with players momentum and strength to have bans for a tackle like Merrett or Adams on the weekend. I think tackle bans should be reserved for the genuine sling tackles. I was one person who was annoyed Chandler was suspended last year as he didn't do a whole lot wrong and it was more the other players momentum that caused the concussion. Food for thought!
  23. Well if it was sold as a double header and the majority were only going to the other game, not sure how Dees and Port fans could get more tickets? Or was each game sold individually?
  24. My point was it isn't always the best to combine match stats from 6 months prior, as there is a lot of differences to both personnel and gameplan etc.
  25. It's a bit nonsensical to combine games from last season and then the next season and anyone can choose stats that suit their agenda. For example, the saints are 8-9 over the same period.... is this cause for concern?
