No way we need to look at a developing KPD. May is only 28, will probably play another 4 seasons. Plus sides have shown if you're in the window you can easily pluck key position players from other sides who want to chase flags. We've also got Petty developing nicely and is a good size at 197cm. I personally would love to see us take 18 & 19 to the draft. These are perfect picks to go for quick, skillful smalls similar to the Power did with Duursma and Butters. Areas we have covered: KPF - Brown, Jackson, Weid & McDonald KPD - May, Lever, Petty & Tomlinson Ruck - Gawn & Bradtke - ideally we add Phillips on a one year contract as back up Inside Mids - Oliver, Petracca, Harmes, Viney, Brayshaw & Sparrow Medium/Small backs - Rivers, Salem, Hibberd, Smith & Lockhart Medium/small forwards - Fritsch, Melksham, Pickett, Spargo, Hunt & Baker I want players with genuine leg speed and skills to play on the outside more or partner Pickett up forward. Any keen draft observers have same names in mind that fit this?

Supercoach is much better for key backs, as they get additional points for intercept marks. Full backs though who only spoil still won't score well.

So you think all sides have multiple promising under 22 year olds? We don't need youth, we need experience and ready made players to go to the next level. I'm sick of going to the draft every year and waiting for players to develop and other sides win flags. We've got a great core group of players who are on the younger side.

The idea we lack youth is ridiculous. We currently have the following players 22 or under on our list: Luke Jackson Charlie Spargo Toby Bedord James Jordon Trent Rivers Aaron Nietschke Tom Sparrow Harry Petty Kysaiah Pickett Kade Chandler Austin Bradtke That is 11 players 22 or under, or a quarter of the list. Plus we will also likely add 3-4 in the draft this year, granted we may also lose 1 or 2 off the above list.

Another I'd consider is Billy Gowers from the Dogs. Kicked 26 goals in 2018 in a team that struggled. Not saying he's a game changer, but we should look at these delisted free agents for depth in areas we lack it.

While I'll reserve judgement until after the trade period, I really don't understand why we aren't going hard at Phillips. Absolutely perfect for us on the opposite wing to Langdon.

I still think someone like the Swans will go for McDonald if they lose Aliir as has been suggested.

What I like to do is read back at some of the 'experts' talking about sides the year before they won a flag. 2016 Richmond - A lot were saying they need a full rebuild. 2017 West Coast - Terry Wallace said they would finish last.

There is zero chance the club will trade Oliver while he's contracted. If he is unhappy about missing finals or finishing 5th in a BnF then do something about it. Do we think Luke Hodge in 2006 after being drafted in 2001 and having his club finishing 11th thought 'oh I'm sick of not playing finals I'm leaving'. This is the calibre of player I want Oliver to be.

I agree with this. I'd also say that given Pickering mentioned Dees keen on Smith this one is a fair way down the road as well. You need to read between the lines with these types of things until the news comes out.

100% hope we get him. I don't care about 'this player won't be in our next premiership team' comments. Who says our next premiership isn't next year? If we can improve our side next year then do it. sick of waiting for players to develop in the hope we win a flag.

No surprise. You would think we would be interested in anyone with elite kicking skills and half a yard of pace. Personally I'd rather take Polec given his age, however given Smith will cost nothing I can see why we might give it a crack. He also has a lot of premiership experience which could be handy and as he ages could be played off half-back to extend his career.

No way I'd accept a late second for him. You're missing the point that he is contracted for 2 years and we don't have to trade him. GWS have Mumford as their main ruck, that is not sustainable. They also have a plethora of midfielders. We need to use this to our advantage and if they don't want to play ball then walk away.
