  1. We play them twice this year at the G so I would suggest turning up and enjoying absolute demolition jobs. You can then sit there smugly and enjoy watching their supporters sitting there talking about the young kid who has had 15 touches and looks promising. Imagine the midfield battle of Reeves, Newcombe Worpel and Ward vs Gawn, Oliver, Petracca and Viney.... what a blood bath that will be.
  2. I really don't see how Jefferson replaces any of those guys as they play a completely different role and he wouldn't have the tank to do what they do...
  3. Burgoyne or Turner there?
  4. I think there's a very low chance that Jefferson debuts this year. If van Rooyen didn't last year, I can't see the selectors backflipping on this philosophy and picking him this year given his slim size. My thoughts on the 5 most likely to debut this year: 1. Jacob van Rooyen 2. Blake Howes 3. Judd McVee 4. Bailey Laurie 5. Taj Woewodin
  5. Any chance you can post the article in here? I can't read it...
  6. Hey DLand, I was told not to post videos of training by another poster but I was just sharing a link to Instagram.... I assume that's ok given it's a public forum and not a video I have taken myself?
  7. Not sure if this works.... but here's the link: https://www.instagram.com/reel/ColLYL2jfHH/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
  8. They have been training. Posted a video on Instagram
  9. Would love to know the expected timeline for Salem and if they expect him to be playing early in the season!
  10. Correct. We was nominated at pick 35 by North, though many viewed him as a top 30 pick.
  11. If I wait long enough.... there will be another player either first or last name 'Jackson'.....
  12. Yeah I thought it was 4 as well, but then last year I recall someone on DLand mentioning it was 5!! If so, that is a terrible bit of list management and hopefully doesn't stop us from re-signing Kozzy! Hence why I was saying if it came down to it could we take a small financial hit to get the contracts off the books? Edit: I will say Tim Lamb has been pretty good in the list management role to date, but this is probably his worst effort.
  13. I don't think Tommo will ever go to the wing. Howes, Jordon and Woewodin would be given shots on the wing before him. I'd say the club are now just waiting out until Tomlinson's contract finishes, while also having a pretty solid depth option at full back if required. I still can't believe his contract doesn't finish until 2024.... that is probably the worst long-term contract we've done out of the current crop. I wonder if things got tight, can we pay him out the final year to get it off our books? Or would it still come under the salary cap?
  14. I'll be getting down to the Friday game v the Saints in Moorabbin. Only 10-15 mins from my place so that's perfect.
  15. I really like this..... anyone good at photoshop who can make a picture of Jackson with money bags?
  16. I have... but not sure what to go with yet!
  17. So there's no training today?
  18. Anyone know what the current tally is?
  19. Photos pre-Christmas he looked a lot more toned and seemed to have dropped a bit of the 'puppy' fat his was carrying when drafted. I definitely think he's one to watch, he has fantastic skills when he is up and going.
  20. Happy to play the Eagles in Perth for the next few years given it will almost be a guaranteed win. The Kardinia park stats are ridiculous and shows just how unfair the fixturing is, with some clubs getting shafted while others get dream runs. If the AFL were actually serious about equalisation they would ensure that at a minimum, a team can't play against another side away two years in a row unless they have a corresponding duble up.
  21. The bench now is really just for player rests, so it doesn't really matter if he starts there or on the field.
  22. My best 22 for Round 1 would be: B: Bowey May Lever HB: Salem Petty Brayshaw C: Hunter Viney Langdon HF: Neal-Bullen McDonald Harmes F: Pickett van Rooyen Fristch R: Grundy Oliver Petracca Int: Gawn Rivers Sparrow Spargo Tactical Sub: Jordon
  23. What a joke..... AFL are as corrupt as can be.
  24. Ahh yeah I get you. I'd personally rather him be seen as a higher pick so we get a bargain paying a lower pick for a high ranked player. I think ideally between 10-20 and we try trade up for a top 10 pick.
  25. So going off that scenario and assuming Gold Coast's academy player is a top 5 pick, I could see us doing the following: Melbourne Trade Pick 13 - 1,212 points Pick 14 - 1,161 points Pick 33 - 563 points Gold Coast Trade Pick 7 - 1,644 points Pick 26 - 729 points Future 2nd or 3rd round pick That would give GC an extra 563 points and then we end up with pick 7, 26 & 32 for the 2023 draft.
