I don’t know if this is a planned strategy, but we seem to be getting more players from Gippsland lately

I think we do and let’s not forget we can build through trades and free agency as well. The biggest thing we need to do is become a strong side again as quickly as possible, because if players think we will be a finals/premiership chance again they will want to come. You also know exactly what you will get from Humphrey and how good he can be, but there’s never a guarantee with draft picks. Not saying we blow up our entire draft future, but I think our first and GC first assuming a top 4 finish for them would be worth it.

I agree with you, I wouldn’t mind Ah-Mu on the list as a rookie. My post was more in relation to people saying we need a key forward as our stocks have taken a hit there. It’s highly unlikely whoever we would pick up would play anyway. Doesn’t matter at the moment now as we signed Paddy Cross, so look forward to seeing how he does.

Does anyone actually believe if we add Ah-Mu or some other key forward they are genuinely going to be an afl option this season? I highly doubt it.

When do the AFL drop off the Ansett Cup? Guess we will have to let them know where we will be, AAMI or Waverley

I think he was dazed from the hit. Passed the concussion test, but he definitely looked like he lost his balance mid air. I was down that end about 30-40m from the incident and that’s what it looked like to me.

I think there’s still a place for them, but it’s more as a get and handball type player and you only need 1 or max 2. I think looking at 2026/27 the loss of Clarry won’t be felt at all as Steele is the perfect replacement and potentially could be better. I think the loss of Trac will hurt in the short term, but for what we got for him we will be better placed long term. We’ve already seen Latrelle and Taylor look like good young players. The most important players now are goal kicking mids (Kozzy and Langford up fit this mould). Trac is definitely one of those type of players, but his problem is he’s a poor kick especially from set shots.

I just can’t see Clarry ever getting back to his level around 2021/22. He will have some great games I’m sure, but I think he will be more of a B level player, maybe B+ moving forward.

I think it’s important to keep in mind Derksen is almost 25, whereas Adams turns 22 in May. Not saying Adams will make it, but will be interesting to see how he’s going at 25 (if he’s still on the list).
