  1. Got a ticket with my mate, first time going down to the Cattery for a Dees game.... hope we can somehow get the win!
  2. Yeah agreed. Not sure what the outrage is. He clearly slung him into the ground and could've let go once he knew the momentum was heading towards the ground. The Mansell one I absolutely hate, similar to Hunter. Mansell was a micro second off getting the ball and Aish should've had more awareness as well and protected himself. The MRO/Tribunal have to start every assessment by determining is this action actually a reportable offence, not just saying oh Aish's headband flew off and he was concussed so we better suspend him.
  3. haha there's a 10 year old girl giving one.... amazing
  4. Trac said in his interview they are back tomorrow I think.
  5. He's definitely a bust as a top 3 pick, but if you can pick him up as a delisted free agent or for a late pick it would be a smart option for depth. Dunstan will probably be delisted after this season.
  6. Feels like an all or nothing game for Carlton tonight. They will either rise to the challenge and make a contest, or they could be completely overwhelmed and loser by 70 points.... time will tell.
  7. I'd be interested to hear if anyone hits a target under a small amount of pressure and if a forward leading to mark the ball isn't impeded by his own team?
  8. I get why the media hate this.... but tbf I think a young player would just be happy to be getting a game even if it is as sub.
  9. This is the most accurate thing I've heard about these incidents. Also bringing up the 'eyes on the ball' thing being garbage is also 100% correct. If players aren't checking where others are around them that is more reckless and has a greater chance to cause injury.
  10. Listening to Goody's presser it reeks of a coach who was spoken to behind closed doors by the AFL to 'tow the company line'. He made no sense at all regards to saying we are learning what is allowed. Not having a go at Goody because we all know the Peoples Republic of the AFL is hard to go against.
  11. The thing that is annoying now in the AFL is even if a player shows genuine care to how they attack the ball and shows their 'duty of care' they are still being suspended.
  12. Yep I agree with all of that. It's quite sad what the AFL have done to certain aspects of the game.
  13. Season over... good efforts guys. 2024 will be our year
  14. Does Clayton Oliver have two hamstrings or just one now?
  15. I've actually decided to stop watching all other games other than the Demons because I'm so frustrated with how the AFL is operated. If I didn't care about the club so much I could easily just stop going entirely.
  16. We just have to appeal the Hunter ban, if anything to keep the MRO process accountable. The way he attacked the ball was text book to how you are meant to now and he had stopped by the time the collision happened. The incident was brought on entirely by Rozee and the way he attacked the ball, so to suspend a player for that is beyond a joke.... but we all know the AFL has completely lost the plot. You would honestly see something like that happen in basketball if two players are going for the ball and it probably wouldn't even be a foul because the player has the right to contest a loose ball. AFL it is a suspension.... it's beyond a joke now.
  17. That's the exact reason I think bottom 4 is a good compromise. If you finish 5th last it is highly unlikely you are involved in any form of tanking, granted the same probably applied to 4th last but you have to draw a line somewhere. Was just giving an opinion on an option as you wouldn't want 9th getting lucky and pulling the number 1 pick.
  18. I'm not opposed to a draft lottery, but I think it should be capped to the very lower end of the ladder, such as the bottom 4.
  19. If Harmes leaving allows us to keep JJ I'm fine with that. Also have to remember we will have some decent players coming in the draft this year and have players like Howes, Woewodin and Laurie developing nicely in the 2s. Have always loved Harmesy, but may be a win-win for both the club and Harmesy.
  20. I think it was after he kicked his first goal. I saw him limping off after kicking it and thought it was a corky or something.
  21. Anyone know how young Kynan went in the academy game on the weekend?
  22. I think it's unlikely we appeal this one. Pretty much no one is getting off these tackle suspensions these days so no point. Give him a freshen up for the following week and bring JJ in.
  23. I'm curious to know why it took 2 hours of deliberation to come to a conclusion that 99% of people took about 2 minutes to get to.
  24. One of the key things that our lawyer the other night didn't mention and should've (what the hell are we paying for), is how can the action be classified as a 'strike'? He either touched the ball or was cms off punching the ball away, so how can it possibly be classified as a strike. At worst it could be classified of careless conduct which would totally change the grading.
  25. The notion that JVR didn't have eyes for the footy is completely false. You are entitled to watch the footy up until a point that you can't, especially when you are running back with the flight of the ball. Unless we get a player with eyes in the back of the head it is almost impossible.
