Need to move on... Focus on what club needs to do to retain quality players....

Not all trades work... But can anyone on here state their credentials & exp on player talent... Let's trust the club....

Roos is all class.... We need to respect that most of the players his team has brought in have worked well.. Vince is evident that our culture & environment has come fwd a fair bit.. He was all but gone @ the crows & to win a b&f says it all...

Not AfL standard players...happens in all clubs... Though our culture & development environment pre roos era would not have helped...

Guy has been smashed with that Number 1 pick tag..... But how would he have gone in the 2 finals of the top 4 teams which were played & high intensity???? Bottom line is we need players who can play @ that level.. He has a few mates also... Roos said it well need to improve the list & need to trade something with value to get something....

Its a compromised comp with not playing each other twice & a fixturing based around TV ratings etc.... Bottom line the you reap what you sew..... MFC has itself to blame with poor mgt & diabolical recruiting, culture & development....

Doesn't say much about the draft system... It appears that bottom clubs are getting early picks & developing them only for top clubs to swoop on them.. understand players may wanna go home etc. & club will be compensated...

Buckley made a great point ... Do footballers want to be AFL players.... Huge commitment required.. Whilst there are skilful players can they commit to playing AFL??? Even Hogan said on 360 it was a shock on the amount of time you spend training & meetings etc Wouldn't touch him... Trying to build culture & our list not at that stage of taking risks....

I just hope awards like these & the Brownlow are won by non midfielders... Can't remember last time a full forward , Blackman or ruck won something ... Too much emphasis on how many possessions etc rather the impact a player has on a game.. Eg full back keeping a forward goalless & how many spoils & marks they take

Treloar ... nominates the filth. So what's the real difference between free agency and doing a trade in this instance? At least doing the the trade GWS should get compensated & not @ the mercy of the afl compensation.

Correct. If I'm wrong but looking at the afl ladder... If Adelaide had won today would they not have jumped over the Bulldogs & host a home final????? Controlling your own destiny????

Bottom line is you should play finals if you win enough games..... Can't wait on other teams to loose so u can play finals..... Gotta be in control of your own destiny..... Off the subject but when you are talking about fairness.... Our competition will never be fair as you don't play each twice.... Only 9 teams have a home ground advantage & Geelong only Vic side to have one.... If you want real home & away look & Europe football/epl .. Play each other twice.... This is a marketing comp ruled by broadcasters as to which team plays on prime time etc...

1st priority is to prepare your team in the best way to win a finals game the following week... Other teams can complain like Adelaide etc but if they wanted to host a final they should have won more games & not rely on other teams to loose etc.... Supporters need to get used to this as this is player welfare mgt... Happens in the epl when a team chooses what they want to win the championship, fa cup or Europe .. They have squads & will field a team that suits.... Don't know what the fuss is.. Though do question on how many players nth are resting, flirting with form???

Reality is Watts is skillfull , great kick etc... But poor second effort, want put body on line if it's a 50/50 ball... Not an A grader... You either that type of player or your not & all clubs have them... If they do a trade & MFC get what they want & vice versa that's great... Trading players whilst they have currency is smart & that's the footy world now days....

Superstars are developed by good footy clubs with strong culture...the MFC have been very poor at this..... Simply getting Superstars from other clubs is a just short term fix... Though would luv for him to become a demons...

It's unfortunate but he's another player who had talent but was poorly developed & the captaincy at a young age ... Honestly ... Roos makes a good point we are the only league in the world were clubs have to develop players to play senior level.. Europe soccer teams have academies, U.S. had the high school & college systems....

Exactly.... People don't realise the enormity of virtually a complete rebuild of a footy club...

Sums up our poor drafting & development from around the mid 00s - 2012..... How many early picks have gone to other clubs & failed..... Morton, Sylvia, gysberts, blease.. I'm sure there's more

Basically don't have enough quality players..... Good core of young talent but our mid to senior players are far off the pace.... Poor kicking skills... All top teams have excellent field kicking skills... Can't have your own players kicking the ball to other team or on the full with no pressure.... Basic fundamental of our game... Makes you wonder what these recruiters were looking at when drafting these players... Hard to teach a player to kick @ 19 after it becomes a habit .....

honestly we must have dumb recruiters... All the top teams get players who can kick yet we get players with such poor kicking skills ... Those traits can be seen @ u18 level as this skill is generally set by then as it becomes a habit .. Such as kicking on both sides of the body....

One thing to draft top young talent ... The real challenge is how you develop them.....culture of a club... No doubt some of our picks were misses ... But our development process prior to Roos was terrible....
