  1. We would have to be in the frame to land Heppell. A poster on here claimed a couple months back that Heppell would be leaving Essendon (and cited Heppell's brother as a source). Based on that - and the currently events - I think Heppell becomes a target for us. Hopefully he was close with Melksham and Goodwin. Heppell is a gun, he would add a lot to our midfield.
  2. The Chinese will love this. MFC were ahead of the curve when we were involved. Now is the right time. Hopefully it is MFC that is playing Port. A lot of $$$$ to be made, and let's face it, the game is stuffed anyway, so we may as well become a rich club.
  3. We have the best young ruck, best young forward, and one of the most emerging midfields in the game. When we do rise, it should be rapid and sustained. Our list is in fairly good shape, we could probably just do with a KP back (Hurley).
  4. I think ANB will come in before Brayshaw. If Brayshaw was underdone last week (which it looked as though he was), then one week in the VFL isn't going to fix that. He will need at least another week IMO. ANB will be rewarded for two consistent games in a row.
  5. Gawn good, Viney ok. Oliver is our most effective midfielder, he is a game changer.
  6. That was a perfect tackle.
  7. If you are going to hit him, friggin hit him. No open hand BS.
  8. The young brigade has at least saved face. Get em in there Roosy, and leave em in there.
  9. I agree with what he is saying, I think he is only doing it because he hates Roos - or jealous. That is just my opinion. I am not going to sit on here all day and argue with you over trivial sh*t. The footy is not far off, so have a nice day stu.
  10. No, I agree with him 100%, and never said I didn't. He does seem happy to run down anything to do with Paul Roos. Perhaps is jealous of Roos? I don't know what his issue is, but he is a [censored] and I see right through his BS.
  11. Yeah, it is exactly that. Brereton does it more of a bullying style, just like he does to young forwards - basically shaming them in the guise of offering advice. The bloke is a loser. Lloyd is just less of a loser, but still a loser all the same. He just started offering his opinion early in the piece (about everything), and he clearly came across as the [censored] he is, so now he has slightly toned it down, but I am glad you see through the bullsh*t.
  12. Gee Daniher is a shocking kick.
  13. I hope Toumpas does well. I know he cops a lot of heat (I have never been a fan), but I would like to see him succeed. He needs to live in the gym, the guy I am seeing out there is weak, he cannot handball 5 metres, he lacks strength. It is a strength issue, and an above the shoulders issue. He panics a bit. I used to panic when I played footy, so I understand, I only solved that problem after hours of sparring sessions (boxing), and learning how to harness energy and aggression - and to use it effectively. When we are calm, we can see all options, that appears to be Toumpas issue, he panics, and in turn, he does not use the football as well as he could.
  14. Definitely agree. He appears to of stagnated. He looks slow. He isn't finding much of the footy. I am sure he'll bounce back, but it is a concern for Port. If he doesn't bounce back, they are stuck with a one paced, slow mid, who doesn't run both ways, because that is what I am seeing at the moment.
  15. Doesn't solve his kicking issues though. He cannot execute. If he could spot up targets he could win a brownlow. But when he constantly finds the footy - only to butcher it - it lessens his effectiveness. I think most opposition coaches would be happy with the ball in Scully's hands.
  16. I agree with you to some extent. But given our history in recent times, more often than not, forum members have had more of an idea than our coaches. Probably not during Roos time, although, a lot of posters were questioning his game day coaching early on, and it is still questionable. Just because we are forum members, and they are AFL coaches, it doesn't mean we cannot question - or criticize - them. It is basically what online forums are all about. That is why I do not envy anyone in the limelight.
  17. I am not surprised, I have had enough of him as well. At least they play for Goodwin.
  18. I said he had played senior football, which he has. He played for Aspley in the NEAFL and made the NEAFL state team in 2015. I never said he played AFL.
  19. He has played more senior footy than those guys. He is a mature footballer, as opposed to the other guys who are just starting out. Petracca has missed a year of football, Trengove 2 years of football. Weideman is still an inexperienced kid, I am sure he will get his chance eventually. Wagner is a good inclusion into our side.
  20. ANB is developing his game at Casey (where he will get a full game in the guts). I hope we keep him there for a while. Wagner is more football ready, plus, our backline lacked some run, so perhaps he can either provide some run, or free up someone who can (Salem). Good in.
  21. It is going to take them a few games in the VFL - especially Trenners. He has been out of football for sometime, I doubt there will be a rush. I suspect the club will also want to get at least 4-5 games into Petracca before making him available for selection. There is no rush with these guys.
  22. I don't think Ralph was on the money at all. We didn't play well on the weekend, I don't think we played exceptionally well the week before either - but we did get the win. Things haven't clicked yet. I think we will be a good team this year. I was surprised we didn't beat Essendon, but I would be shocked if we didn't finish above them. Ralph will be wrong, he doesn't know much about football. I am not sure he even played football.
  23. The AFL is business first (before everything else). I am not surprised to see the AFL continue to pray on the poor. The have enabled - and supported - clubs that revenue raised off of pokies, and the AFL continue to advertise sports betting. In addition, the AFL have long endorsed alcohol sponsorship, and after all this, they try lecture people on how to act, behave, and preach their integrity. I would love to see the game of AFL stripped right back, limited business, more ethics, and have the product as the actual game.
  24. I doubt we will drop him. Hogan would be well within his rights to ask what the hell is going on with the midfield. Perhaps even suggest a few changes. I don't particularly like Hogan's body language, but it wouldn't even be a talking point if the midfield could deliver him the football, and then he could do his job.
  25. I would like to see ANB get a full run at it on the ball. He was impressive as the sub last year. Given half a chance I think he can make a difference.
